Miaou - I can't believe how lax your last midwife was, I'd definitely put in a complaint.
I have the same problem with cats, we've been really careful keeping the door shut on the LO's room, but they manage to make a mad dash in there every time either of us go in. We're using a carrycot instead of a moses basket and I'm keeping it stored upsidedown inside the cot. Thankfully they've not found either yet.
MelissaM - glad you sorted everything out with your Mum, and that you''re getting your jobs done
Jamantha - Hope everything checks out okay at the hospital.
All those with cramps, my midwife told me to drink a pint of milk a day to keep them at bay. It seems to have worked, if I forget for a couple of days I get the feeling like I'm going to get cramp, but it just reminds me to drink another milkshake. Bananas are supposed to help too (potassium) but I loath bananas so I'm sticking with the milk.
I did my last sleep-in shift last night, so I've one shift on Friday and I'm Done! They did try to talk me into doing a sleep-in on Friday too as someone is sick, but they believed my excuse.
I'm tying to spend the day cleaning up in an attempt to keep my mind off the fact my Dad is going in for an angiogram (sp?) tomorrow. He needs a heart valve replacing so from the results of this test they'll decide when they're going to do it. We're hoping they'll wait until at least September rather than in the next few weeks. He's generally fit and healthy, they told him when he was 40 that he'd have to have it replaced when he was about 45-50 but if he kept fit it'd last longer, he's 65 now and it's only in the last couple of years that its started causing problems. The doctors biggest concern is that he's an extremely nervous patient, it's written all over his notes, and his worrying is more likely to trigger problems than anything else.
Anyhow, back to cleaning cupboards out.
