Firststar,

Yes, it does show breech babies can turn late on- mine turned around 36.5 weeks. I assumed once space was tight, it wouldn't be possible.

I also find a short catnap helps. When DD has her lunchtime nap i can often be found snoozing on the sofa!

Sorry, not sure why my last message got posted 3 times!

Bilblio- hope your dad's appointment goes well. I delivered the TENS to your mum on Monday- she kindly invited me for a cuppa but i couldn't stop long. I was impressed that she delivered you and your brother naturally both from a breech position! She seems like an ideal (doting) granny too- very excited about your LO coming soon.

bilblio · 13/06/2007 19:12

LOL she obvious gave you our life history Sorry she can't half talk Yes, I forgot to say thankyou for the TENS machine, I'll be picking it up next week sometime so I'll start plucking up the courage to use it then. She told me you'd said about not playing with it unless I was definitely going to use it, I've read they can induce labour at this stage, so I'll just be reading up on it but I'll not be practicing I think the biggest thing that turned me off was the one at the antenatal classes looked like it was from the Ark

Yep, breach babies can be born naturally, My big brother was breach and facing the wrong way up, she had him with gas and air.
I was breach until hours before I was born, and only became engaged during labour apparently. She didn't have any pain relief with me. I'm hoping I have her tolerance for pain

I'm sure this LO is engaged now because I feel like I'm sat on a melon but Mum doesn't know what I'm talking about

(just posted this on another thread, in case anyone thinks they are going mad )

Well it went ok, though the lucozade made me feel very queasy! Took ds swimming which was a great success; he has previously refused to go in the water at all but today we managed to get him to go in (after 20 mins of roaring - but he wasn't scared, just trying to assert his authority over us ). Should get the results back fairly quickly - am expecting it to be clear

Jamantha, hope all is well with you . I'm feeling a bit guilty about not shoving the cat out of the moses basket - however past experience shows that he steers well clear of babies (he stood on dd1 when she was a baby and she screamed so loud that he never went near her - or dd2 - or ds - again )

To those who are "ceph" and "free" - me too - to be expected with subsequent babies as the head quite often doesn't engage until labour begins. First timers usually engage any time from this point on!

Sorry, every time i logon it seems to post my last message again. At this rate we'll need a new thread before all the babies come.

Bilblio - your mum was very sweet. I also felt like I was sat on a melon yesterday and sometimes get sensations like baby turning his head round in my pelvis. Very strange!

My midwife recommended milk and/ or tonic water for leg cramps. Mine haven't been as bad since i started aquanatal/ daily short walks, but I do get restless legs still!

dewmeadow · 13/06/2007 20:22

Im going for a scan tomorrow, which Im quite excited and nervous about. In my hospital you dont usually get scans at this stage but my last baby was posterior and my labour was long, v painful and ended in a c section. So Im hoping for right way around and engaged tomorrow. My previous two didnt engage until labour but this baby feels low down.

I think Im hoping its engaged in teh hope it will come early!

Going to think about using bio oil for massaging tonight!!

Jamantha · 13/06/2007 23:42

Caroline1852 · 14/06/2007 00:36

Jamantha - you have got a baby and your body back to yourself. I am so jealous! What is she like? Is she OK? Any need for SCBU etc? Does she look like you? I feel all tearful.
A few days ago you said "....found out yesterday that friend of friend had her LO 5 weeks early last week. Eek, I've only got 5 weeks to go on paper, could be me next!" Quite funny. Hope you are getting plenty of rest and post soon (hopefully with a picture). Cx

Caroline1852 · 14/06/2007 01:38

I wonder if the 2 paracetamol were in Jamantha's birthplan?

More details when you are rested please...oh and dont forget piccies!

Well done.

pulapula · 14/06/2007 08:23

Well done Jamantha!

She is a good weight for such an early baby. Are you and baby back home already?!

Have you got a name for her yet?

Catz · 14/06/2007 08:44

Conratulations Jamantha - that's fantasitc news! Glad to hear that you are both well.

(I'd better pack that hospital bag!)

Caroline1852 · 14/06/2007 09:20

Jamantha - I love the name Charlotte - hope her jaundice clears quickly so you can get home. Really wonderful news.
Everyone - I was doing my middle of the night prowl (due to LOs disco dancing) when I read Jamantha's post. Stayed up for about an hour pottering in the kitchen and doing some stuff on the computer (after reading Jamantha's post I made a list for things to put in hospital bag tomorrow (today) and also last few things to get for the baby). Have just delivered youngest to school and have then got an architect coming to look at our loft - then a friend coming for lunch. If 18 month old dd is agreeable might try and catch a nap in the afternoon before the big ones come home from school.

Holy lord - congrats Jamanatha - you are a legend. 2 paracetamol plus some screaming - you rock!!!

Welcome Charlotte!

God, things are feeling VERY real now. My tummy is all nervy!

Myfairone · 14/06/2007 09:54

Caroline - I am laughing at your description of lists for bad packing! I too have just sat here and written down all I need...this really does make it feel real doesnt it!!!

I think Jamantha was 36 weeks..is that right? So little Charlotte is a great weight at 7lb for 4 weeks early!

Well done Jamantha, we are all so jealous now!

Get bag packing girls!!!!!!

Myfairone · 14/06/2007 10:08
