I get sooooo nervous before any appointment. Really hope to hear the heartbeat this afternoon.

Could actually cry. 😢

Fredthespider · 05/09/2018 10:19

@maxiflump1 yes we’re the same trust! Mine is the 18th, so not too long to wait now.

AliceRR · 05/09/2018 11:53

@Baby160P hope you get to hear the heartbeat! I’m sure everything will be fine although I worry too!

Think I might have just felt movement - the bubbling / knocking feeling quite low down but was followed by a sharp sensation slightly to left 🤔

AliceRR · 05/09/2018 12:00

@Picklesandpies Don’t let me worry you. I think there are just a lot of unknowns in pregnancy. I might get a Doppler but would probably try to limit to a couple of times a week.

Same with 4D scans. We want one but I’ve read mixed things.

I plan to ask MW tomorrow

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 05/09/2018 14:54

They offered me a 4D scan at the NIPT scan... I declined, they freak me out a bit 😬

Didn’t know there was a potential health risk though.

AutumnLee12 · 05/09/2018 16:19

Had my 16week MW appointment today and heard babies heartbeat which was lovely! Felt very surreal booking all my appointments until 40 weeks! Countdown is on to my 20 week scan now! Smile

somethingfromnothing · 05/09/2018 18:12

I’m 17 weeks today and got to hear the heartbeat at my mw appointment this morning. Only 3 weeks to go until scan and my next mw appointment is at 23 weeks.

Started to feel a bit more real today! We have so much decorating to do and I know once I get to 20 weeks it will just fly in!

maxiflump1 · 05/09/2018 18:31

@Baby160P how did you get on today? Did u get to hear the heartbeat?

Omg ladies look at this!

So our tray snapped off the one we had and I rang Tommie tippee and asked for a new tray and the man was so lovely and said he'll send it out ASAP free of charge. Get home today to this! A brand new one!

So my OH cousin is pregnant and she's going to be a single mum as the dad didn't want anything to do with baby :( and she's only 19 so I am handing down my other one too her :)

@maxiflump1
@AliceRR

We heard the heart beat!

Was so happy!!!!

I didn't realise you can also hear the placenta which is directly at the front so we had to do some routing around but got there eventually.

It's made my day ❤️

Alicejj8x · 05/09/2018 21:05

@Baby160P
Ah I am so so glad.

Yes the placenta is the whoosing noise isn't it :)

AliceRR · 05/09/2018 21:55

@Baby160P

I’m so pleased.

Hopefully I get some positive assurance tomorrow!

I am stressing again as I put on a separate post after I hit myself in the stomach and of course lots of people said not to worry as baby is well cushioned but then I just got one “well my baby died...” Horrible and I’m sorry for her but not what I want to be reading before bed.

At least MW appointment is tomorrow!

Baby160P · 05/09/2018 21:59

@AliceRR I'd go with the majority.

This site is amazing for mostly positive things but sometimes you get people that really make you feel anxious which is not what we need at a time like this.

Try not to worry I'm sure baby is fine ❤️

maxiflump1 · 05/09/2018 22:19

Glad it went well @Baby160P and you managed to hear it!

@AliceRR please don't worry: someone's always going to have a negative story to any question. As you said yourself previously you would have had to hit yourself hard enough to cause some sort of internal injuries to hurt the baby. Good luck for your appointment tomorrow

Notquiteagandt · 05/09/2018 22:40

@AliceRR I have noticed my "bump" every little bump and knock or strain really hurts. Even the little ones. So I am sure it just felt alot worse than it was and all will be fine.

As ive been poorly my dog has not left my side and wont stop cuddling me. Theres been a few times shes accidently bounced off my belly and made me cry out in pain. But other than joking the baby may have a paw shaped birth mark. Ive not given it much thought.

They are well cushioned in there. Sure youll be fine im sure Flowers

twiglet · 05/09/2018 22:46

This might be a stupid question but first pregnancy so no idea.... does the baby kicking/moving feel like someone flicking your skin but on the inside? I'm lying in bed and feeling a few flicks on my side quite low down. No butterfly feeling but it's pretty strong can't feel it on the outside.

Cheery1 · 06/09/2018 06:54

Hiya @twiglet that’s a perfect description of what it feels like! I always found I’d feel my DS move more when I was still too, so lying in bed or sitting down. I think they tend to sleep when you’re moving because of the motion. True so far with this one too 😍

twiglet · 06/09/2018 06:59

@Cheery1 thanks I thought I was imagining it at first but felt it about 4/5 times would appear that he doesn't like me sleeping!

Cheery1 · 06/09/2018 07:05

@twiglet - ha! That sounds about right! How dare you sleep?! Lovely to feel the baby move though, makes it so much more real x

sickmumma · 06/09/2018 07:27

@Lulabell1 you are very near me! We are having our baby at Kingston hospital! We also have the midwife listen to the heartbeat at 16 week check it says in my notes about what each appointment if for. I haven't yet had it yet though! Still a week and a half to go!! 15 weeks today and counting!! Seems to be going really slow but thinking really now time goes so quickly to Xmas and then we will have 8 weeks left!

Have any of you thought about when you will finish work? I am due on the 28th Feb but all my babies have been born at 38 weeks! I work in a preschool and thinking I will go back after Christmas for a couple of weeks at least as I want to ideally take a year off if we can afford it. I am hoping I can drop to very part time and my MIL I think will have the baby for the two mornings I work just for that year until baby is old enough to come with me!

twiglet · 06/09/2018 07:39

Yes it was amazing 😍
kept seeing if you could feel it from the outside for my DH but think it's a bit early as I've just turned 18 weeks x

AliceRR · 06/09/2018 08:07

@Baby160P @maxiflump1 @notquiteagandt Yes you’re right, I know. My belly area is definitely more sensitive and it didn’t hurt as if someone else had properly punched me IYKWIM, just on surface.

The lady who said that hadn’t even had a bump so anything g could have happened.

What would I do without this group for reassurance when I’m having a wobble??

@twiglet sounds like baby moving (altho it is my first too so I’m in the same boat as you!) - so lovely!

bubblybrit · 06/09/2018 08:30

I’m so jealous of those that got to hear the HB at their 16 week mw appointment. I was told that she wouldn’t listen to the heartbeat at this stage and would need to wait until 20 week scan on 3rd Oct!

Cheery1 · 06/09/2018 08:44

I didn’t get to hear the heartbeat either @bubblybrit Sad Wish I’d really pushed for her to try now!

Will have to wait for 20 week on 13th - really nervous about that now

bubblybrit · 06/09/2018 08:47

I must admit that I didn’t really push for it either @Cheery1. Although I sort of wish I had now as I’m a bit impatient to wait until 3rd Oct. Feels as if it has been ages since my last scan and just want to make sure that everything is still ok. No reason to think it’s not but still get anxious from time to time.
