Thought I'd get the new thread started as no one objected to my title suggestion

I actually think changing bags are worth the money. Agreed that you wouldn't have to and could get a normal bag but the change ones seem to have more pockets and are therefore easier to organise. Which is vital for me! Even though dh does put everything back in random places and moan that he can't find anything!!!

j20baby · 27/06/2007 18:56

hey everyone, stop talking when i'm busy doing real life stuff!

only had a scan through, as am sanding and painting woodwork everywhere! and also in the middle of doing my roots.

this last couple of months, since the scan confirmed bump is female, i keep buying baby girl clothes, got a wardrobe and big chest of drawers full, already and just bought another big bundle

whops! not into shoes and bags at the moment, still not unpacked the ones i've already got!

MrsFish · 27/06/2007 18:59

Most expensive - an antique mahogany cupboard and a landrover

MrsFish · 27/06/2007 19:01

j20 - every time I go out I seem to come back with another little outfit, even though I still have all of ds's clothes

nappyaddict · 27/06/2007 19:02

ah see i agree with that but i still have to have "my" bag when i go out so would mean i would have 2 take 2 bags. so now i just buy bigger bags for me and put ds' stuff in there too.

the skip hop changing bags are quite nice though.

FloriaTosca · 27/06/2007 19:03

Ejt; so glad the hydrotherapy helped and glad the NHS have a support plan for you after too.
Inzi; sorry to hear about your sil, hope she is ok. Enjoy Johnnys gorgeous camp pirate..the film got rotten reviews but I enjoyed it, hope you do too.
Greedy; hope you are ok [concerned face]
Muppet; hope the pitch goes well, my DH would come out with exactly Nellies DHs argument

We have bought a cot for ds2 but other than that I have resisted all clothes! We were bought so many for ds1 I'm leaving it this time. Will need some newborn sleepsuits as those were borrowed from a friend last time but thats it.

LOVE most of ds1's clothes too - was really upset as he grew out of them that I'm really looking forward to using them again! Will need a double pushchair and think I have convinced dh on the amby nest (the word sleep was actually enough!!!!) but other than that think we are OK!

Can see where you're at on the changing bags nappyaddict. I just stick my stuff in a pocket on the change bag or if I have more stuff I need I have a radley accross the body bag that is really easy to carry for my stuff. Since all I ever tend to use are my mobile and wallet (and handbag is full of crappy bits of paper and stale breadsticks) I manage fine with just the change bag usually!

muppetgirl · 27/06/2007 19:12

I've been buying pirates.....oh 'argh me hearty!
Bought a pram which dh husband duly broke as he does all of our prams/pushchairs (we've had 3 with ds1 and need to buy another for baby)

A lawnmower too...

muppetgirl · 27/06/2007 19:15

for baby we have to buy most things apart from cot as i sold everything of ds1's.

FloriaTosca · 27/06/2007 19:43

Alice; what is the latest on your sil? has there been any news? too soon I realise for any progress but I hope they have helped get her stable physically...

I'm off to see my sil now...shes in the throws of divorce, poor love (not in any way her fault)though must admit I'm kn* ered after minding her 3 yr old (future axe murderer )for 5 hrs today!

Have a good evening all

nappyaddict · 27/06/2007 19:47

i manage with just one bag too. i just hate being restricted to one change bag and its rare you get a nice hand bag looking change bag!! but that's me and fashion for you

alicet · 27/06/2007 19:58

Thanks for asking floria. It sounds as though she is improving although she is still waiting for the op on her ankle. Basically it is still too swollen to operate. And they won't assess her for the M&B unit until her treatment for that is complete. She has been seen and assessed several times though and bil is very happy with the care she has been receiving.

Looks like we won't be going down this weekend. From a selfish point of view I'm really disappointed as I'd like to see my niece! But I think there are lots of people around to help this weekend so they are keen we get rest to help later... So we'll see.

Hope your sil is ok - sure she must be having a tough time. thinking of her...

j20baby · 27/06/2007 20:07

right! thats it, can't even go for a bath without missing out!

alice, glad to hear things are moving along-up to now, am thinking of you all

is anyone having problems with there hair? mine's growing faster and darker, which i know is normal, but also got a lot more coming out in the brush, thought that didn't happen till after the birth!

oh and also, how does everyone remember to answer what everyone has said, do you

write it down?
keep going back to refer to who said what or?
or by some miracle, just remember???

all i remember now, is about changing bags, haven't really got a view on them, can't remember with dd, and i have got 3 huggies ones to get through so far anyway

oh, thats another thing i keep buying-nappies!got a lot of disposable ones(that i had to buy to get my free changing bags) and also reusable, how many newborn packs of 28 do you think we'll be able to get throgh before they're too small?

j20baby · 27/06/2007 20:08

oh sorry, ft, meant to ask, how's your SIL doing?

MrsFish · 27/06/2007 20:22

J20 - I tend to keep referring back, I can't remember who said what otherwise

Regards hair growth, strangely enough mine actually slows down when pregnant, I'm finding I don't have to shave half as much, I'm not complaining

alicet - glad things seem to be looking up for your sil.

FloriaTosca · 27/06/2007 21:11

Alice; Glad to hear sil is getting good care, understand your dissapointment at not seeing the new comer yet but I'm sure you'll get more than your fair share soon. I just hope the ankle is operable soon so they can get on with the rest of her treatment.

Thanks for asking about my sil (dhs sister)shes doing fine on the surface...but she really needs a better, more positive/vindictive lawyer (or someone to cut through her lying, cheating, about to be ex's brake pipes ) and she needs to be less even handedly generous (the lawyer says she is only entitled to half the equity on the house despite the fact that she has the kids (9 and 3) and the dogs (his idea though he never looked after them), has always worked and paid half of everything and is the innocent party in it all!)and she is going along with his suggestion that she sell (before soon to be ex stops paying his share and gets the bank to forclose because she cant afford it all on her own) despite the fact that half the equity wont give her enough downpayment to afford to buy another home on her wages. Personally I'd take the lot and screw him for every penny for the next 15 years!!! But she doesnt want to alienate him "for the sake of the kids...he is their dad" (no, she'll let him take his share and squander it on his new woman and her 4 kids!)and she wont let us say a bad word against him. She's far far too nice a person!
OOps sorry..had another rant

j20baby · 27/06/2007 21:11

I've stopped ranting now perhaps I should get involved in the AIBU threads to let all this pent up anger out

Hair!!!! Yes its growing (and it wasnt short in the first place) but I've also noticed fine blonde downy hair on my body (esp my tum)that I'm sure wasnt there before...or is it that my tum wasnt so close before so I couldnt see it.
