I’m starving too, in between the sickness. I’m hoping it subsides soon or l’ll be the size of a house! Scan went well, I can’t believe the change from 3 weeks ago, we saw a little baby waving away at us, and the yolk sac was attached like a little balloon! The consultant was fab and had a student so she was very thorough and explained everything. She did a cervix check too and now I’m very worried. I’ve had unexplained bleeding for the last year or so but my GP has been absolutely useless about it. My cervix is in a very tricky position and is hard to see apparently, but she’s concerned that it looks unusual and has booked me in for a colposcopy to get a closer look. Got the fright of my life when I got a call not even an hour later offering me the appointment tomorrow. I can’t make that so have one in a few weeks. Now I’m really worried. If they find anything I’ll have to wait until after the born before any treatment unless it’s serious. I’ve been concerned for a while that somethings not right, but god I wish I’d chased it up more so something had been done earlier.

Ohnonotanotherusername · 05/09/2018 15:53

Really sorry to hear that @AwkwardAsAllGetout - hope your appointment comes through quickly and it's nothing serious.

I used I have quite a lot of unexplained bleeding and it turned out to be cervical erosion, which was harmless and easy to fix. Fingers crossed that it is something like that.

Dani7 · 05/09/2018 17:23

Had a colleague message me saying, “I may be putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 but bigger boobs and a blood test - can I hear the pitter patter of tiny feet?” Had to admit to her as I don’t like outright lying and asked her to keep quiet as I’ve not even told my boss yet. Now not sure if I will become latest gossip and need to tell my boss! Also have became very paranoid about my boobs thanks to this! I don’t find my boss very approachable, was waiting until closer to scan to say anything. I don’t even have the scan date yet and unsure what to do? I hate this ‘secret’ part x

Mejse · 05/09/2018 18:15

@Dani7 that's so nosey of her! Surely she would find out soon anyway so no need to email you about it.

I have now had several kids at my school rub my belly and ask if there was a baby in there, they aren't shy at all. Thankfully none of the adults have been rude enough to ask

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 05/09/2018 18:47

I hate people fishing like that, so rude, if you wanted to tell her you would have. Unkind to put you on the spot like that I think :(

Firsttimemama88 · 05/09/2018 19:51

Hi ladies! I hope all is well. I had my first meeting with the midwife on Monday and had all the normal blood/ urine tests etc done. I got a text from my doctor saying my blood sugar was showing as a ‘little high’ and to discuss with my midwife. Stupidly I hopped straight on to google and have managed to scare myself silly as it can be v harmful to baby at 8 weeks. I called the doctors and they said not to worry but I can’t help it 😔 has anyone had similar? Any advice/ reassurance would be hugely appreciated as I can’t see midwife for another 2 weeks.

Treaclepie19 · 05/09/2018 20:44

Oh gosh Awkward, I hope all is okay.
Glad baby was all okay and I hope they can reassure you.

Dani, that's awful of her. If you're concerned and want to tell your boss then do. Don't feel you have to though.

I'm finding this secret bit weird too. I've told the people closedt to me but I'm finding it hard with the people I see fairly often but don't really want to tell yet.
Only 2w 2d until my scan. Hope all is still okay.

Treaclepie19 · 05/09/2018 20:45

Sorry @Firsttimemama88 I meant to reply to you too and posted too soon.
Can you ring the doctors in the morning and ask them for advice? Just say you're a little nervous after their text.

Firsttimemama88 · 05/09/2018 20:51

Thanks for your reply @treaklepie19. I called them and they said it was nothing to be too concerned about, that the midwife will talk through it with me and they may do a retest. I guess it’s just information online contradicts that. It’s just ruffled my feathers a bit! I seem to be overthinking everything a bit this week. Never mind!

Treaclepie19 · 05/09/2018 20:52

It's really easy to overthink in pregnancy. I'm glad they've said not to be concerned. Try not to worry Cake

Treaclepie19 · 05/09/2018 20:53

That was meant to be flowers 🙄

italianwifey · 05/09/2018 21:39

@awkwardasallgetout I hope everything is okay, that sounds stressful. I was actually due a smear when I found out I was pregnant and was looking at the leaflet this morning - It sounds like it’s rarely anything to worry about so fingers crossed all is fine. I also had an ectropion so it could just be something like that, hope so.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 05/09/2018 22:48

@awkward that all sounds really horrid for you. Poor thing.

I’m kind of “over” the secrecy part too! I work in a really small school and my head, TA and job share know so that’s three out of about fifteen staff... I keep forgetting the rest don’t know! I can’t keep it quiet for much longer, I start the day a normal size and by the end I look about six months gone and I’m waddling 😂

Firsttimemama88 · 06/09/2018 06:37

@treaclepie19 cake is ALWAYS ok. Haha!

MamaSharkdoodoodoodoodoodoo · 06/09/2018 21:54

Hi, can I join please?

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow with baby number 2. Had my booking appointment with the midwife yesterday which made everything feel really real Smile. I had gestational diabetes with my first so midwife organised the glucose test for tomorrow morning- not sure how I'm going to drink the disgusting thick syrup with this morning sickness Confused. Still on the plus side of GD you get lots of extra scans which was great for my nerves last time (had a miscarriage before my son was born so was a bag of nerves until he arrived safely) x

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 06/09/2018 22:08

Hi @Mamashark and thanks for the earworm!

RosiePosies · 06/09/2018 22:19

Hello everyone. I am 8+3 and having a private dating scan tomorrow as waiting another month just seemed impossible. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a scan around this time and if there's much to see? Did anyone get their dates put back by quite a lot? I'm a bag of nerves.

jess21690 · 07/09/2018 06:34

@RosiePosies I had a private scan last Saturday at 8+3, they onle dated me back a day to 8+2 which I was happy with as I hadn't had a period before I fell pregnant after coming off the pill. What you could see was really a little bean, with a flicker of a heartbeat and the yolk sac attached. I was really worried beforehand as well but I found it very reassuring! Hope yours goes well.

Fluffy475 · 07/09/2018 08:25

The keeping quiet at work is always hard!! It's all come out at mine because someone overheard me having what I thought was a private conversation so asked me outright so I felt I had no choice to tell the closer members of my team. They'd all guessed but hadn't said anything!!! I think the longer it goes on the harder it is and actually I feel a bit relieved now as I can hopefully be a little freer with what I wear!!!! Just makes me nervous not having had my scan yet. Hey ho just got to go with it!!

RosiePosies · 07/09/2018 09:53

Thanks @Jess! It's abdominal rather than transvaginal so I guess I wont be expecting too much. Glad to hear they only put you back a day - I've got 30-31 day cycles so I'm expecting them to put me back by a few days at least.

Fraggleface · 07/09/2018 14:18

Had my booking in this morning (with my 22 month old who thankfully was well supplied with breadsticks behaved.

Managed to stay as midwife led, despite previous section and my age (36). 99% set on a planned c section this time (after a 50 hour induction only got me to 3cm last time..)

Scan in 2 weeks when I’ll be 12 weeks exactly by LMP but I think actually up to a week behind that.

mummy2019 · 07/09/2018 17:10

Hi all

Just looking for a little bit advice. I have hit a bit of s brick wall today and my mood has plummeted to say the least. I remember this happening with both of my previous pregnancies and actually thought I may have swerved it this time as was feeling so positive but I just feel miserable today. Anyone else experiencing or experienced the same thing? Xx

lolacola13 · 07/09/2018 22:42

@mummy2019 hi hun I'm 8+3 and feeling it too.. feeling weird and antisocial all of a sudden I have completely gone off my partner to the point where i think crazy thoughts like I could do single parenting no bother. 😱.The man has done nothing wrong bar wear the wrong aftershave that makes me dry heave . The thought of being intimate at the mo physically repulses me and I spend a lot of the day worrying about this baby and the future and am I mad having another one etc etc . All I can say is ur not alone. It's purely hormonal related and if u have any and I mean any history of anxiety or depression pregnancy and its vulnerabilities and hormones will make it read it's head for a bit. I remember being like this with my second and it did pass by second trimester. Hang in there and remember to mention it to midwife if it doesn't pass . Xoxoxoxox

mummy2019 · 08/09/2018 08:39

@lolacola13 hi there. Thank you so much for your very supportive and helpful reply. I had a day in yesterday with both my sons aged 2yr 10 month and a 10 month old. It was hard going with them both and I wasn't feeling too great with exhaustion and back ache. I think this all contributed to how I was feeling. I will most definitely monitor it and if it continues I will speak to my midwife. It's good to know that it's a common thing and I'm not alone tho. I think I'm like you and getting anxiety about a third child when my other two are so young and how I am going to cope etc. I'm also still on maternity leave from work and not due back til January so think I am worried about telling them that I will be going off again xxx

cookielove · 08/09/2018 08:56

Hello all

I haven't posted in a while but have been reading everyone's messages.

Not much happening on this side, I had a scan last Fri which put me back quite a buy and no baby so have another scan on the 14th. I have everything crossed there will be a baby!
