Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

@mrsreader less than ideal timing, I’ve just stopped full time work to go part time. Massive pay drop which will make saving tricky here too, luckily DH covers the majority of the bills and DD gets her 30 free hours in Jan so my childcare bill should go down.

inkworks273 · 13/09/2018 07:42

Morning. How is everyone feeling?

I had really bad cramps again last night which woke me up. I had to get out of bed and get a hot water bottle. Eased after about 15 minutes. That's the second time this has happened. Still no sign of AF which is due tomorrow. I'd usually have been spotting for a few days by now though.

I'm wondering if it's the pregnacare vitamins that are causing it. Maybe making me constipated?

Anyway I'm 4 weeks exactly today!

kiltedsheep · 13/09/2018 07:47

Morning! I feel like Bloaty McBloatface this morning. I'm fed up of feeling tired, too. I'm going to try to just ignore the tiredness and nausea, which probably ain't gonna work...

If you're not sure of your rights at work while pregnant/on mat leave, may I recommend Maternity Action? It's a charity with fantastic info on its website and also an advice line (although I've never rung it). Well worth reading through imo.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 13/09/2018 08:45

I’m feeling ok today, haven’t been hit by the sickness yet, but I’m dog tired and freezing cold! Shivering away in my usually toasty warm office right now!

BuntyII · 13/09/2018 08:52

Morning everyone. I still don't have many symptoms yet, was a bit bloated yesterday and had a high temperature of 39. And have been crying a lot about daft things.

I should be 4+5 but am still only getting faint lines on ICs and 1-2 weeks on a digi. I know I should stop testing but it's hard not to look for reassurance when you've had a previous mc isn't it. Hopefully it will be ok but I'm not feeling very hopeful about this pregnancy Sad must go to the doctor tomorrow as I have to tell her I'm pregnant anyway.

SurfingOwl · 13/09/2018 09:04

Solidarity with those who are worrying. I’ve felt tired this week but that’s it. I’ll be glad to get my early scan out of the way so I at least know if there is a baby in there or not.

Dimblebimble · 13/09/2018 09:10

I'm also still testing 😖 feeling reassured for now so might give it a rest for a bit. I'm 4+1 now, don't have any symptoms except the cramping, which seems to start late morning and get worse in the afternoon. I think maybe it's from siting at my desk.

No sore boobs, but they are quite small so maybe that's why 😂

I feel like its on my mind constantly, but dh, although excited, seems to be able to put it out of his mind. When I told dh he kept saying 'so when will you know if you're actually pregnant?', because I told him not to get too excited (especially given chemical last month). I had to keep saying 100% know I'm pregnant, it just depends whether it lasts. He does keep coming up with random facts he's found about early pregnancy on google though, bless him.

DietCoke1 · 13/09/2018 09:11

Morning everybody.
Definitely feeling the worry with you guys at the moment! Just don’t really feel that different.. hard to believe there is a baby in there.

I am going away next week for a wedding abroad for a whole week with lots of my partners family. Not sure how I am going to explain the no drinking.. as that is quite unlike me, definitely can’t tell them yet.

wheezing · 13/09/2018 09:21

Hello! I’m 4+4 (I’m guessing, possibly could be a day or two further). Had a positive two days a go. This follows one MMC and a chemical so I am nervous ... also I’ve been having a little brown discharge... However, on the plus side with the chemical I had very very faint lines from about 10DPO until period at about 19 DPO and with the MMC it was, I think, always apparent because I got stuck on 2-3 weeks for ages. This time I have really dark lines so feeling somewhat positive. Will feel much more so if I get a 3+ next week.

EspressoPatronum · 13/09/2018 09:27

I'm definitely a bit constipated, and have no appetite at all. I don't feel sick again today, which is freaking me out a lot as with my son I was really sick from very early on!

Kiltedsheep thanks that definitely sounds worth the read!

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 13/09/2018 09:28

BuntyII, have you considered an early reassurance scan?

Popsalot15 · 13/09/2018 10:59

I’m still in a state of shock after a week. Is anyone else not having any other symptoms (apart from having to be woken from the sofa every evening)? I went to the GP this week and she booked me for my first midwife appointment but I kind of wanted to pee again on a stick however had no tests apart from
Blood pressure. Keep thinking that I’ll go to my first scan and they’ll say this has all been a mistake 😅

rosettesforjill · 13/09/2018 11:29

Welcome new people!

We've managed to persuade our builder to start in November - will still be tight but there's a chance we'll be ready! Grin

Dimblebimble · 13/09/2018 11:34

What are you building @rosettesforjill ?

We were planning to extend our home, but I don't think we will have time no. We'd like a big kitchen/diner extension and a complete overhaul of the garden. It's a shame we won't be able to bring the baby home to a finished home Sad

rosettesforjill · 13/09/2018 11:52

@Dimblebimble it's a two storey extension, mostly kitchen. It's going to be a really big project, probably 5 months ish, and we're going to have to move out... I'm not looking forward to the process but hopefully it will be worth it!

Dimblebimble · 13/09/2018 11:56

@rosettesforjill will you do it over the winter? I was assuming we'd need to wait for the spring for the dryer weather for an extension but maybe that's not the case...

I'm sure it will be worth it in the end Grin I really wish we had the time and money to do ours!

rosettesforjill · 13/09/2018 12:04

@Dimblebimble it looks like it! Not ideal but it's such a big job that we're bound to end up with some bad weather to deal with anyway. I really, really want to minimise time on a building site/not at home with a newborn and a toddler 🙈

frankiefumbles · 13/09/2018 12:26

Oh boy ladies, I've got serious catching up to do. Hello! I'm 27, DH 51. Devon. Probably conceived Aug 30 but a bit unsure.

I've had two early MCs. This week, I declared to all that would listen "I don't even want a baby now - it would be so inconvenient".

My period was four days late. I don't feel pregnant at all. I did an Ironman on the Sunday but couldn't finish the bike because I was knackered and ran out of time. I just started getting a bit twitchy because of the late period and now I've got a BFP. I've got a flight to Hawaii in October (massive long haul) so bit nervous about that.

I've got no idea how I'm going to keep calm for the next few weeks til 12 weeks. Eek!

Dimblebimble · 13/09/2018 12:39

@rosettesforjill ooh you're tempting me too look into the possibility of getting ours done by may 🙈

Welcome @frankiefumbles and congrats!

rosettesforjill · 13/09/2018 12:49

Welcome @frankiefumbles! Bloody hell, I couldn't do a single part of an Ironman pregnant or not, so I'm in awe of you even getting to the bike stage!

@Dimblebimble it's probably worth looking into - you can always postpone if it looks like it isn't going to work

Teladi · 13/09/2018 13:03

Was reading with interest the posts about when to call the GP/midwife and make your booking in appointment. I was feeling all casual about it. I've found out super early at 4 weeks, so yeah assuming all goes well I'll just call in a couple of weeks when I'm 6 or 7 weeks. Then looked at my calendar and realised I have a smear test booked week after next (mid cycle - ha!) which according to the NHS website I shouldn't really get now. I hate inconveniencing the GP's surgery because they're always so busy and it's really hard to get appointments for anything, so if I need to cancel I like to give them loads of notice! Anyway after inner wrangling I have decided I will call next week (5wk pg), explain about the blooming smear test and ask about booking in. The worst they can do is tell me to call back in a few weeks presumably!

Really feeling for all of you who are worrying and wanting to test. I think having no tests in the house is helping with that for me. My BFP was really strong (on AF due date) so for the moment I'm declaring myself pregnant until further notice. I felt very tired last night at 9pm and so went to bed! Slept through until 5.50 when DC woke me up going to the toilet but could definitely have slept longer. Been feeling very 'burpy' too and not as hungry as I normally am. I can't remember what it was like last time, I do remember my pregnancy sickness kicked in at ~5 weeks though so I am nervous for that possibility even though I know it can also be reassuring that everything's going well. I was really very sick last time though and I don't want to have to try and explain it away to my DC at this stage. Or my work if I don't have to but at least my manager won't tell the rest of my family, half the school, etc etc!

Welcome @frankiefumbles!

BuntyII · 13/09/2018 13:08

Hi @frankiefumbles your name is familiar - were you on the March bus? I Think we miscarried around the same time x

frankiefumbles · 13/09/2018 13:37

@BuntyII I was...which reminds me I did promise them I'd go back if I got a BFP...so sorry you were on there as well...but good that you are here! Have you had a BFP? What a coincidence on timing!

SurfingOwl · 13/09/2018 13:39

@Popsalot15 I have no symptoms apart from feeling a bit tired this week. I’m seven weeks.

MauisLeftNipple · 13/09/2018 13:44

I'm the same as you Teladi. Although I only got a faint line on an IC, I refuse to go out and buy a more expensive test for reassurance. For my previous pregnancies a single Boots test a day or two after AF was due sufficed. I haven't had a period for 5 weeks so as far as I know I am still pregnant.

SurfingOwl I don't qualify for Maternity Allowance as wasn't in employment in the 26 weeks prior to falling pregnant. It doesn't matter, this baby won't need much spending on it anyway. Already have all the gear, including nappies (reusables). Have boobs. Nowhere to spend my money in town.
