Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

I'm dreading telling my parents, theyll be silently so judgemental!! And won't be telling anyone unless they outright ask/guess until I have had my scan. Hate all comments people have to a third child "was it an accident ? " Etc it's just rude

MrsReader · 04/09/2018 21:11

@minnierose3 people can be so rude! How can they be anything but happy about a baby?! Odd.

minnierose3 · 04/09/2018 21:18

We have the "perfect" Boy/girl combination and yes whilst I do feel lucky if you want a big family or another baby gender really isn't an issue, so so many people have said "ooh one of each you don't need anymore now" Really annoying haha xx

purplestar9 · 04/09/2018 21:32

Evening all :) I'm curious. How many children (if any) do you all already have? So what number DC will this be for you?

minnierose3 · 04/09/2018 21:36

Purplestar9 DC3 😱😱😱😱

UntilTheVeryEnd · 04/09/2018 21:57

@minnierose3 I’m so with you on telling the family dread... my mum will be not so silent judgemental saying how could I ruin my life? Genuinely she is a wonderful grandma but doesn’t want me to have more children. I don’t know why folk can’t mind their own bloody business! We can be team 3 together Grin

UntilTheVeryEnd · 04/09/2018 21:59

@purplestar9 DC3 for me aswell - I also have “perfect” 1 boy/ 1 girl - so genuinely must be mad

minnierose3 · 04/09/2018 22:00

Ahh @untiltheveryend my mum and dad have been exactly the same "why the hell would you do that? " Is literally something theyve said 🤦🏻‍♀

UntilTheVeryEnd · 04/09/2018 22:02

@minnierose3 that’s just so rude! I’m deliberately waiting til I am a lot further on this time - I wouldn’t put it past my DM to suggest a termination. This pregnancy was very planned and much wanted. Isn’t it terrible to have to justify ones adult like choices

SurfingOwl · 04/09/2018 22:15

Why are so many people so rude about pregnancies? I just don’t understand it!

I am just over six weeks and have no symptoms which is worrying in itself! Thankfully the hospital has agreed I can have an early scan.

MrsReader · 04/09/2018 22:26

First baby for me 💖

minnierose3 · 04/09/2018 22:42

Omg @UntilTheVeryEnd would they really? My mum and dad will say the right things probably but it'll through gritted teeth!!! How old are your other dcs? Xx

purplestar9 · 04/09/2018 22:53

There are a few with this being the third child then :)
This will be my first too

tinyradish · 05/09/2018 06:40

Yep, my first too Smile

Mejse · 05/09/2018 07:02

This will be my 2nd and dh's 3rd. Having 3 children is considered good here. The birth rate is fairly low so they have even done campaigns to try and get people to have more babies "do it for Denmark" haha. Dh's family have been asking when we will have another since Ds arrived.

It's not up to your parents how many children make your family complete, I would just ignore their reaction. Once the baby is here they will love it and totally forget all the negativity they gave you.

zoClueless · 05/09/2018 08:18

First for me too!

seeingdots · 05/09/2018 08:23

2nd for me.

Is anyone else getting hot and cold flushes? I don't remember getting this last time.

Firstbornunicorn · 05/09/2018 08:32

First for me!

DesertBOO · 05/09/2018 08:48

@seeingdots yes I am getting hot flushes! Just like a few seconds my face will burn up!

I'm 4 weeks and having quite mild cramps throughout the day (low down near my pelvic bone). The trusty internet says not to worry but just wondering if anyone else is having (or had previously) similar?

minnierose3 · 05/09/2018 08:53

@desertBOO I'm on dc3 and have had v bad cramping / pains with this little one so far! Heard it's your uterus stretching, but because it's been so bad I've been panicking it's twins haha

purplestar9 · 05/09/2018 08:55

@DesertBOO I had cramps for a few days before AF was due and still now occasionally. It is apparently all normal so I'm not worrying about it :)

SurfingOwl · 05/09/2018 09:35

How is everyone today? I’ve got an awful headache and had two pints of water to see if that helps. I’ve got loads on today so really need it to go away. Do you think bribing my head with chocolate would help?

rosettesforjill · 05/09/2018 10:30

@seeingdots yes me! I never had them last time either!

All fine here - nothing to report really. Six weeks today Smile

mayago · 05/09/2018 10:38

@SurfingOwl chocolate could help! Though after three days, mine went when I banged my head on the bathroom cabinet door. I think it was @tinyradish who suggested the 4head stick. I hadn't tried it, but would have if the headache hadn't shifted!

@DesertBOO yes yes yes, so many cramps, mostly around the exact 4 week mark. They seem to be coming and going a bit more now, and my stomach just feels excited now most of the time Smile

I don't understand how people can be so rude about a new pregnancy! When is it ever okay to ask if a pregnancy is an accident?! We have one DD, and I'm open to more after this one, but will probably be feeling too old by that point.

I have told a few close friends who supported me during chemical pregnancies and difficulties conceiving. We're hoping to hold out telling family until the 12 week mark. I don't remember having such a cautious optimistic approach with my first pregnancy!

MimiSunshine · 05/09/2018 10:50

2nd baby and 6+3 here. Just starting to get some queasiness now, feel like it’s slowly building up to nausea.

Part of me is pleased, all symptoms are positive right? But at the same time not looking forward to it.
Last time it was just low level nausea for a few weeks that subsided by the time I was 12 weeks rather than actual vomiting etc, so hoping for the same.

The only thing that really helps is to regularly nibble on food, mainly citrus fruit and sip water with squash in it. So not great for my teeth but needs must.

Does anyone have a feeling as to what sex their baby is? I know you can’t really know so just for fun.

Before conception I really wanted a boy (we have a girl) as I felt another girl would be taking something away from DD and I wanted a ‘new experience’.
Now I really feel like this baby is a girl and I’m quite happy with that, can imagine 2 sisters and think it would be lovely.

Obviously I have no idea and either way of course a healthy baby is all that matters plus I’ll probably be totally shocked in the delivery room by having a boy after all 😏
