DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:03

yeah don't despair i'm due on Monday, right after you, and have only has the VERY occasional twinge over the past few days apart from that, nadda!
Think i might let DH get his wicked way on Sunday though!!! - it's that or caster oil and caster oil is revolting!!

foxybrown · 02/06/2007 09:06

Morning all! Backache derlor, sounds promising. Show? Annobal, only took Natty a day or so after hers to give birth hmmmm, maybe the full moon's a slow burner

My first thought every morning is "has anyone gone into labour during the night??" and I'm constantly checking my mobile, Derlor. Feel like I'm on call! Can I be your virtual doula???

annobal · 02/06/2007 09:09

Managed to avoid embarrasing illnesses so far but may have to give it a go...

DS2 was a bit like that Derlor - I didn't know i was in labour until my waters broke, then it all set off very quickly.

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:09

Yes Foxy you can be my Doula - but think it may be nearer Christmas before i call you at this rate - maybe i REALLY got my dates wrong, either that or i'm actually an elephant!!!!

trendaverter · 02/06/2007 09:10

yeh my mum tried caster oil with one of us and it didn't work for her either so not feeling too tempted.

I have denied DH any of the other for a while because I have been itchy with this PUPPP rash thing (sorry if tmi!) but you know what I think I will brave it! Sperm is meant to have a prostaglandin hormone in it isn't it? Bring on the bonking then...

Derlor I am sure you will be soon!

annobal · 02/06/2007 09:10

Not sure if it was a show, or just gross pg stuff. Don't really want it to be as would like HB and can't have that until 37 weeks...

foxybrown · 02/06/2007 09:11

and don't worry TA, my waters didn't break, didn't have a show, for 1 and 2 just had niggly feelings which turned out to be dialating very slowly and quietly and painlessly - you might get a nice surprise (eventually!) For no 3 She was the quickest and least painful!

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:12

someone told me yesterday to try caster oil, orange juice and sodium bicarbonate - think that actually sounds more like a bomb a terrorist would make.

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:15

Yeah i was similar Foxy - best feeling in the world when i got to hospital experiencing pain but NOT unbarable to be told i was already 7 cm dilated - DD born 45 mind later

annobal · 02/06/2007 09:15

MW told me that calcium works wonders (cervix made of collagen and calcium breaks down collagen). Great excuse to od on icecream anyway

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:15

mins - not mind.

annobal · 02/06/2007 09:15

Derlor that sounds like a dream...

lulumama · 02/06/2007 09:16

no to castor oil

it will give you terrible tummy ache and runs, and you can end up labouring on the loo and even dehydrated

ok, as you were, ladies.....

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:16

yup we agree lulu - NASTY NASTY STUFF!!

annobal · 02/06/2007 09:18

Thanks Lulu!

trendaverter · 02/06/2007 09:20

Foxy you too have given me hope!

So anyway what happens after we give bith? What thread do we join?

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:22

we join the "oh dear GOD, i wish i was still pregnant" thread
Only joking - there is already a post natal June thread started i think - i'm sure i spotted it the other day. 4 have gone early so think they are chatting on that.

bumperlicious · 02/06/2007 09:22

Morning all, sorry I abandoned you last night. Some friends called round unexpectedly, was very pleased as have hardly heard from anyone from work since I left out of sigh out of mind!

Foxy, re: hypnobirthing CD, it's not too bad, it may work out ok. If you like I could send you a copy of the birth prep one. It's probabl too late for anyone else to use but you still have some time to get it in. Email me your address if you want to give it a go. Basically there are 4 CD's relaxation in pg (I listened to once - bit late now!), birth prep, music for labour (from the other CD's I think) and post natal recovery CD.

Had a crappy nights sleep too but only coz DH has a cold and was snoring ALL night - I nearly smothered him! I know I should sympathetic, and he is really apologetic for keeping me awake, and it's not his fault but I am so bloody tired!

Anyway, got a couple of friends coming over for tea and cake today, and most of my muffins have gone so I am going to make Malteser Tiffin!

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:24

OH malteeser tiffin!!!!!!!!
Bumper i'll send you MY address and a blank check for a batch of THAT!!!!!

trendaverter · 02/06/2007 09:26

Bumper, I am having an addiction for maltesers, please can you post the recipe?

bumperlicious · 02/06/2007 09:26

Recipe here. Don't know what it is like though (also a MN thread on said recipe here.

trendaverter · 02/06/2007 09:29

OMG Bumper I just think I had an orgasm

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:30

BUMPER I LOVE YOU XXXXXXX

DesperateDerlor · 02/06/2007 09:32

trendaverter · 02/06/2007 09:34

Derlor, ditto, yes I have just printed it out and after BB catch up I am off to Sainsburys....
