Am going to get a hypnobirthing cd. Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

annobal · 01/06/2007 19:47

No, but interested to know as well...

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 01/06/2007 19:48

Foxy - I got one on Tuesday. Have heard great things about hypnobirthing.

It's very relaxing to listen to if nothing else

I have got this one cos it was recommended at my NCT class

annobal · 01/06/2007 19:52

My homeopath recommended this as well. When should you start doing it?

bumperlicious · 01/06/2007 20:05

I've got that CD pack, but have been very slack listening to it - apparently you are meant to listen to it about 30 times (I've done it twice) - hoping I haven't got that long left!

I listened to the birthing prep one for the first time yesterday and this annoying woman is saying things like "and your body is relaxed and working exactly like it should be" (really - like my pelvis is going to snap in half?) and "your body only wants food that is nourishing and go for you..." (does 3 bowls of ice cream count?). If you can get past all that without getting angry then go for it!

foxybrown · 01/06/2007 20:13

so you're not recommending it then Bumper?

foxybrown · 01/06/2007 20:36

where did you all go????

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 20:38

I'm here....bouncing on my ball till my bum goes numb, then I get up and waddle around and then back on the ball..

foxybrown · 01/06/2007 20:39

what of the pains Daisy?

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 20:45

Still here, but I'm not sure what they're about really....feels like a strained muscle all up the RH side of my bump (and a little bit at the bottom on the left) generally, and then when I have a BH tightening it gets painful enough to stop me in my tracks...bump feels quite tender generally, and I feel like I need a big poo...but nothing happening . Getting this about every 15-20 mins sometimes closer together, but not regular and not getting any more painful.

No doubt this will go on until Tuesday and limit what I can do this weekend!

Thing is I was induced when I had DS so not sure what I shuld be expecting!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 20:46

Yum...DH has just brought me some caramel snack-a-jacks....deeeelish!!

OP posts:
fannyannie · 01/06/2007 20:46

lol Daisy - I know the feeling - DS1 was CS - no labour - very boring, DS2 was induced, DS3 I was still in denial of being in labour at 11am on the day he was born!

foxybrown · 01/06/2007 20:47

oooh, hello FannieAnnie! How are things?

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 20:48

Hey....great birth thread Fannieannie...and big congratulations. I think I might be having a slow burner like you, but I'm booked in for a section on Tuesday so...

and what was with that pic of your arse? very brave for publishing it on-line!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 20:51

And 3 boys...it's gonna be boisterous in your house isn't it?

OP posts:
fannyannie · 01/06/2007 20:54

well if you've got a slow burner like mine hopefully you'll cope like I did - I was still 'coping' with the pain without any pain relief whatsoever until about 1.15pm - and then it was like someone shoved a rocket up DS3's ar*e as it was only 3hrs later that he arrived - by the time I'd had enough with just gas and air and asked for an epidural it was too late - I was already pushing .

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 20:58

Big well done though, I bet you feel really empowered that you did it yourself this time around.

I just wish this would either amount to something or bugger off and give me some peace and rest between now and my elective on Tuesday!

fannyannie · 01/06/2007 21:01

oh yes it was amazing - going to try and write my birth story and post it sometime this coming week - but basically I refused the continous monitoring, refused to let them put a canula in to take bloods and they so TOTALLY listened to me,

So - if any of you other June girls are going to Kettering Hospital and have either Sarah or Melissa as your MW you'll be VERY lucky - they were both absolutely fantastic and rather than making me feel I was taking 'risks' or anything like that they really seemed to understand where I was coming from.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 21:09

how was it having a doula there with you? I did consider it at one point as DH works miles away, but he's home now for a month so decided against it.

i am VERY tired and grumpy today so instead of bringing you all down i have decided to go for a bath then BEG to the full moon before going for a good night sleep (hopefully)
i'll be back tomorrow if i'm less grumpy
hugs to all xxx
hope the full moon brings some storks

hollyandalice · 01/06/2007 21:18

That's really lovely waswondering! Happy birthday to your lo!

We are REALLY slow on this thread! I think we should all be having a lot more sex (or not)! How exciting for brownsuga! Hope she goes tonight on her own. I have caught up on this thread, but not the other one, so am a bit behind!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 21:18

Derlor...the chocolate didn't cheer you up then?

Visualisation, moon howling, nipple stim and a good old seeing to from DH is in order.....

holly....FYI for the stats list, BrownSuga was previously Kiwinat!
