Had the scan yesterday. Everything is healthy and normal, thankfully. I found the whole thing very overwhelming, I spent the rest of the day feeling spaced out and tearful. It become real now.
Just waiting for the blood test results, then we can start telling everyone.

powkin · 10/08/2018 11:27

@UndercoverLauren - I get the feeling I’m going to be the same as you, mine is next Thursday. I had a 5 week scan but that doesn’t really mean much as so much could have changed or gone wrong since it was lentil size.

Stupidly went to work yesterday because I find it impossible to give myself a break and now have three clients back to back this morning/afternoon before travelling to my parents for the weekend. Will be so happy to be away from the cat waking us up I hope I can sleep for 12 hours!

Wrigglet · 10/08/2018 11:53

Lookingforadvice123 you’re so right! I tried a ginger biscuit before I got out of bed this morning and I swear it made me feel worse. Cheese and tomato toasties and crisps are my staple diet at the moment!

DragonFlew · 10/08/2018 12:30

Still no scan letter. So I've phoned and left a message hoping someone will ring me back with a date!

Surprisedmom · 10/08/2018 13:22

I’m not sold on ginger either. I’ve had little morning sickness but one of the times I did actually throw up was after a cup of ginger tea - i’ve completely avoided the stuff ever since.

Alicejj8x · 10/08/2018 13:22

@AliceRR I hope it went ok xx

FrowningFlamingo · 10/08/2018 13:31

I found a gingernut in bed before getting up quite helpful at one point but I think any biscuit would have done the job - just needed to eat something!

FrowningFlamingo · 10/08/2018 13:32

All good thanks @bubblybrit we are having a boy :) and he's disobedient already - took three hours to have my first scan as he wouldn't sit right. I've told everyone at work now and one of the nurses said she'd noticed I had a bump but didn't like to ask! I'm worried I'm going to be huge as I'm only 13 weeks and it's a first - they're not supposed to show yet, surely!!!

Bluelagoon25 · 10/08/2018 13:36

I had awful sickness for about 3 months which has finally stopped in the past week, not even feeling sick now and I am 14.3 so it does get better ladies! You're nearly there Smile

jeanzbeanz · 10/08/2018 13:46

When are you 'supposed' to start showing? Obviously it's different for everyone but...

I'm 14+4 and I'm pretty sure I have a (small!) baby bump. I was relatively slim to start with (I'm fairly tall and size 8) and have lost a few kg due to sickness, but although my arms/bum etc feel really slim my tummy is definitely not! Maybe it's just bloat?

Lookingforadvice123 · 10/08/2018 13:50

jeanzbeanz I think it's different for everyone! But if you're slim you're probably more likely to show earlier as it'll be noticeable going from a flat stomach to a little bump.

I was slimmer than I am now before getting pregnant with DS (only a few lbs) and I thought I was huge early on but actually looking back at pics I barely had a bump until gone 20 weeks. This time round I am definitely showing but I know it happens earlier second time.

Since2016 · 10/08/2018 13:51

I wasn’t showing with DD until 20 weeks. This time - 13 weeks and a very evident bump.

Different for everyone I think. I obviously had great tummy muscles - was super fit - the first time. Not so much this time, although you do show a lot earlier with a second. It’s been a bit of a shock!!

powkin · 10/08/2018 15:18

I’ve hit a wall of exhaustion. Got caught in a huge thunderstorm and torrential rain and am soaked even with an umbrella. Waiting for the train to my parents with soggy feet, feel like I could fall asleep at any moment! I’m not entirely sure I’ll be able to get up from where I’m sitting right now!

Baby160P · 10/08/2018 15:29

@powkin I'm lucky to make 9pm this week before falling asleep, (12 weeks)
Dozed off in the cinema yesterday too 🙈

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 10/08/2018 16:02

@Since2016 same! With DD literally the tiniest bump right till the end. 12 weeks and I'm bumping along quite obviously

Notquiteagandt · 10/08/2018 16:04

So had my 12 week scan. Have caught up a little so now 12w4d with EDD 18th Feb.

They where so wiggley and active. Took a while to get measurements.

The sonogrammer did comment that they had a pretty little profile. Little button nose and pouty lips.

So relieved all is well. Feel like weight of world is off my sholders.

Had my 20w 28w 30w 32w 34w scans booked in too. So happy I will get to see alot of them to check their size. All feels very real now.

Just concerned that the wait until 20w is going to feel soooooo long. Such a long time away!!

Excited to start buying now!!

Yakadee · 10/08/2018 16:27

@Notquiteagandt - what a cute thing to say, aww.

I have a totally unrelated question - is it safe to paint your nails? I have an massage appointment tomorrow and feel like I should tart my nails up x

Surprisedmom · 10/08/2018 16:45

@Yakadee from what I read it’s ok to paint your nails once in a while but avoid nail salons as they’re full of fumes. That being said there are some safer nail varnishes as they have fewer chemicals pregnancyskinexpert.com/safe-nail-polish-for-pregnancy/

Baby160P · 10/08/2018 16:51

I never even thought of nails being an issues, I do mine myself so no salon fumes. Only done them twice since being pg

Leonora94 · 10/08/2018 16:54

@FrowningFlamingo I’m the same it’s my first I’m only 12 weeks and my jeans 100% don’t fit me anymore 🙈 think I look about five months pregnant not 3!

Yakadee · 10/08/2018 17:06

Thanks @Surprisedmom! I haven't painted them yet since I found out but it's reflexology on my feet so would feel bare. I'd only be doing them myself anyway xx

@Baby160P - I know! So many things you don't even think about x

AliceRR · 10/08/2018 17:17

Scan went well today. I am one day ahead of what we thought - EDD 10 Feb!

So relieved

No blood tests yet but she said anything under 1 on 150 is low risk in which case we’ll get a letter in 2 weeks otherwise someone will call us within a week

Had to see consultant due to a few problems I had when I was born. Think everything is ok but pleased for the extra care and it was good the consultant saw me today too but meant we were at the hospital for over four hours (I had booking in then scan then finished booking in then saw consultant and then had another blood test) so decided to take afternoon off as was exhausted but DH and I are now shopping...

Wrigglet · 10/08/2018 17:25

Oh I really hope so @bluelagoon25.

bubblybrit · 10/08/2018 17:41

@FrowningFlamingo. I am 13 weeks today with my first and definitely have a little baby bump. I’ll be telling my work on Monday as been off this week and wanted to have my scan first before announcing it to everyone. Ah a little boy will be awesome. My family historically have girls so a boy would have been a total shock and surprise for everyone! I really didn’t mind. Just pleased that baby is healthy and everything looking good so far 😀

MelC83 · 10/08/2018 17:56

Does anyone know of costa frostinos are ok in moderation when pregnant or are they are complete no no?
