@craftymum01 haha you aren't alone!!!

@Surprisedmom I'm sure it's hormones heightened. Hope you're ok x

Lookingforadvice123 · 08/08/2018 20:20

lanalawr we went to that last Tues, the 10:30am showing Grin can't say I cried though haha.

SerialPlantKiller · 08/08/2018 20:31

@lanalawr live theatre can indeed be an emotional experience 😉

hayley013 · 08/08/2018 22:27

Oh I've been a bit more irritable, poor OH has been so good.

I've been so relaxed about everything, no early scans, now our 12w scan (at13+1) is tomorrow morning and I'm so anxious about it x

FrowningFlamingo · 08/08/2018 23:33

DH was teasing me about something this evening and I've thrown a bit of a strop Blush
In my defence he knows it's something I'm sensitive about...
I also got teary looking through his commando dad book - not like me at all, I'm not really the sentimental type!
I have to deal with lots of emotional stuff at work so I hope I can pull myself together :/

Fredthespider · 09/08/2018 06:00

Good luck this morning @hayley013 x

Since2016 · 09/08/2018 06:03

Good luck @hayley013 I’m sure it’ll be fine xx

I’ve caved and bought maternity dresses. Got old stuff out of the loft and hate most of it. Still struggling with how my body has changed so much so early in comparison to DD I feel massive. Hoping some new dresses will perk me up! Thank god it’s cooler too - although still 26 in london

powkin · 09/08/2018 06:32

I am absolutely desperate to sleep more than 5/6 hours! Was sick last night (after trying to eat to stop the nausea!) and then it’s still warm for sleeping in London so woke up at 5am boiling hot and wide awake. Then the obligatory need to pee and the cat wanting food and then more throwing up. I haven’t had any sick days (I work 0.6 FTE across 4 days) but feel like I might cave today, I just want to rest!

Leonora94 · 09/08/2018 07:05

12 weeks today🎉feels like a huge achievement - sorry to hear people are still feeling sick! xx

Baby160P · 09/08/2018 07:48

@powkin sorry to hear this. How far gone are you?

I'm so sleepy all the time I don't know how you do it. I had 9 hours (with 2 wee trips) get a nap in!

Alicejj8x · 09/08/2018 07:53

So brought a Doppler last night arriving today
I don't know if this was a bad mistake as I duno if I'm going to get to attached lol!!

I'm 12+3 what's the likely hood I'll be able to find baby's heart beat? And what should I be looking out for? I've heard something about galloping horses ?

Lookingforadvice123 · 09/08/2018 08:11

Good luck hayley013!

I'm wearing my new maternity jeans today, at 11+4, I love them! They're a bit big but soooo comfy. I wasn't in maternity jeans until about 15-16 weeks last time! I was out of my skinniest jeans by 8 weeks though.

powkin you poor thing, honestly take the day off sick. I had two days off a few weeks ago then week before last I had my whole working week (4 days, 8 hours per day) off as I was just too ill. Sickness in pregnancy doesn't go on your absence record x

powkin · 09/08/2018 08:50

@Baby160P I’m 11+3 - I’m hoping it’ll be over soon but worried I won’t be able to keep it a secret this weekend at my parents! I really want to have the scan first - only a week to go now!

I went back to bed but can’t sleep so might just get up and go to work late :/

lanalawr · 09/08/2018 09:02

Sorry to hear people are still feeling sick. My sickness has started properly today :( I've been mostly ok up to now (13+6). It happened this way for me with dd too. I was sick with her from about 12 weeks up to 24ish. Hopefully it's just going to be once a day again.

I've also broken out the maternity clothes today. I'd forgotten how comfy mat trousers are!

hayley013 · 09/08/2018 09:09

@Alicejj8x haha it does sound like that 😂 go on YouTube and try find one to listen to so you know what to listen out for.

Thanks everyone, feeling quite excited this morning, think because we'll be telling DD when we get home and know all is well xx

Alicejj8x · 09/08/2018 09:11

@hayley013
Thank you I have looked at YouTube but I will defo be looking at some more so I can get a better idea lol

Good luck today xxx

Notquiteagandt · 09/08/2018 09:17

If go by last scan 12w today 13w by LLP

So not to get ahead of myself before next scan tomorrow.

But I feel like I have hit a mile stone. Last week of first trimester.

Since2016 · 09/08/2018 09:35

I’m wearing my first maternity dress today and the bump is well and truly
Out. 13w tomorrow as scan moved me forward by a week, feel like it’s a big milestone and feeling a lot more relieved and secure. Started to tell people now!

Yakadee · 09/08/2018 09:38

I've been wearing maternity gear for ages (I feel huge). But, does anyone know where is best to get 'tall' stuff. Regular jeans just don't cut it and I feel like everything is half mast lol. Help! Xx

FrowningFlamingo · 09/08/2018 09:46

Alicejj8x the rate is often a giveaway - the baby's heart rate is much higher than yours, about 160.
I'd second YouTube videos, you need to position it quite low down and move around very slowly - the heart is tiny so it's easy to miss if you move too quick!

Fredthespider · 09/08/2018 09:46

@lanalawr you poor thing!! The second trimester is meant to be the easiest!

Since2016 · 09/08/2018 09:49

@yakadee ASOS, TOPSHOP are my go to’s for tall. I’m 5’10”! Also Isabella Oliver is quite long in terms of measurements. I found Asos mat jeans and leggings the most comfy. Although I do have my eye on a leather pair of seraphine leggings....

Alicejj8x · 09/08/2018 09:53

@FrowningFlamingo
Ahh thanks Hun ok cool so last Monday baby's heart rate was 172 so shall I look for anything 160 and over?

Thank you x

jeanzbeanz · 09/08/2018 10:00

I'm 14+4 today and feeling LOADS better 😊 am now sleeping about ten hours per night (rather than 13+!) and haven't been sick for two days. And I've hardly felt sick either. So as of today I'm cutting to half dose of my prochlorperazine.

The improvement has happened since I started taking a homeopathic remedy. I don't really "believe" in homeopathy but my mum made me try it, and I can't deny I'm feeling 100x better and the nausea has almost completely gone. I even got in my car and went into the city centre yesterday to buy some baggy clothes!

If anyone else is like me and is willing to try ANYTHING to get some improvement, I'd recommend you ring a company called Helios and tell them your symptoms, and they will recommend a remedy for you. Cost me £7.90 and it's been worth every penny ten times over!

Celebelly · 09/08/2018 10:02

I could find my baby's heart on Doppler from 9 weeks, but it was a bit harder to find then! Make sure you use plenty of gel and start low. You have arteries on both sides so can you get your own heartbeat and the whooshing nose of the placenta, but baby's heartbeat will be a lot faster. I can always find it around the middle by changing angle of Doppler probe rather than moving Doppler far to left and right.

I've now started hearing the sound of baby kicking on it, which is bloody loud!
