Hot Milk always did nice maternity bras.... 10 years ago anyway!! Are they still going...?

Surprisedmom · 07/08/2018 20:41

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I believe hotmilk are still around, yes.

Since2016 · 07/08/2018 20:53

Maternity bras are soft - not underwired and generally will stretch as you grow.

I got loads of lovely feeding bras from hot milk last time - made me feel a lot nicer when feeding the milk pig. Speaking of. I need to find them....

Since2016 · 07/08/2018 20:53

I have some soft bras from m and s and blooming marvellous. They’re not gorgeous but they’re practical...

bubblybrit · 07/08/2018 20:58

@Fredthespider. That’s exactly what my DH said! I had to nip to the toilet about 5 mins after my last scan. Drinking a pint of water is not my idea of fun nowadays x

bubblybrit · 07/08/2018 20:59

Thank you @RedStef1983! I think I’ll wait until I’m asked for a sample in that case 😀!! X

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 07/08/2018 21:02

I was umming and aahing, but I’ve just booked my NIPT scan, not till the 20th August as that’s the first date my DP and I can both take time off...

I had my nuchal scan last week, the measurements were good but they won’t give me the blood results till 4th September 🙄

Both nervous about it and looking forward to it! Fingers tightly crossed no issues come to light 😬

lanalawr · 07/08/2018 21:33

I just bought non-wired bras last time I was pregnant and then went back at 38ish weeks to get measured for nursing bras. I think I'll do the same this time because my size changed towards the end of my pregnancy. I don't like the clip things on the straps to let the cups down so want to avoid them as long as I can.

Lulabell1 · 07/08/2018 21:56

@lookingatthestars89 im currently always bra-less since coming back from holiday i had a boob reduction and lift in 2016 though so unless nipples are noticable you cant really tell. Havent had any pain just sickness! Just managed to eat a yoghurt but thinking was that the best thing now? Anyone got any recoms about what stays down with severe morning sickness or do you think its just everyone is different Hmm

Lulabell1 · 07/08/2018 21:58

Can someone explain nub theory?

CarlyJayne1987 · 07/08/2018 22:04

Hurrah again ive found you all lol!

Had our 12 week scan today - and im bang on 12 weeks! She (convinced), is wriggling like a good un!, arms and legs flapping everywhere was such a lovely sight!! Currently my tum looks like im 7 months due to being gassy and bloated.

I want a scan at 14/16 weeks for gender (isit 14 weeks??)...as im so desparate to know and i cant wait.

Im now under a consultant next time due to previous miscarriage and a bleed. All ok now but they are being super cautious which im most grateful for.

So for today - phew :)

Hope your all ok ladies xxx

bubblybrit · 07/08/2018 22:26

@CarlyJayne1987. Great news that everything went well at your scan! I’ve got my first nhs scan tomorrow at 12+5. Hope that she (we found out the gender at 10 weeks with the harmony test) is still ok in there. I was told by my MW that it was 16 weeks before they could accurately determine gender on an ultrasound. Maybe it’s different elsewhere though?

CarlyJayne1987 · 07/08/2018 23:36

@bubblybrit - not a clue! i can wait 4 week though haah :)

Ive heard of the harmony test but never looked into it - im so impatient its unreal!

Good luck for your scan - im sure everything is fine but we cant help but worry can we :)

Bluelagoon25 · 08/08/2018 07:39

@Lulabell1
It is the angle of the nub on your scan..

www.ingender.com/Gender-Ultrasound/Nub-Theory.aspx

I've researched it and still have no idea for mine! X

Jesscaar · 08/08/2018 08:34

Speaking of bras, anyone got any good suggestions for larger ones? I'm 36H and the quad-boobs have started already! I get frustrated going "normal" bra shopping due to lack of selection as it is, and I'm not looking forward to the hunt for good maternity bras!

FrowningFlamingo · 08/08/2018 08:50

Oh I've got so behind! Just caught up, lovely seeing the scan pics.
We've had our nhs scan - all fine but baby would not behave and I ended up there for three hours! Only just managed to get the measurement.
Also got our harmony test back so probably need not have bothered! And we are having a boy. DH very pleased about this - says girls are too expensive Grin I don't think I had a preference but I know nothing about little boys so feeling a bit daunted, all my young family members are girls...

DragonFlew · 08/08/2018 08:52

@Jesscaar have you tried Bravissimo? I think they're fantastic for bigger boobs!
Big department stores often have a larger sized range too - John lewis/debenhams/M&S

Lookingforadvice123 · 08/08/2018 09:08

Great news on all the scans! Finally less than a week til mine, eek! My friend's news about the downs risk yesterday has made me a bit nervous. lanalawr did you have your scan/combined screening at the UHW? If so, did your result letter (if you've had it) say a figure of risk or just "low risk"? I'm hoping it's the same as with DS 3 years ago and just says the risk rather than a figure as I'd rather not know and then won't analyse it!

Fredthespider · 08/08/2018 09:39

I started looking at the nub theory, but I'm not sure if what I'm looking at on my scan is the nub, then I got excited that "I think it could be a girl", then I've scolded myself for getting excited as it could be a boy... think it's better if I just wait haha

Baby160P · 08/08/2018 09:45

What pregnancy apps do people have? Ovia is too American for me, Emma's diary has bad press for the data protection.

DragonFlew · 08/08/2018 09:58

I've got the pregnancy+ app which is ok, i've also got Ovia because i like the strange little things it gives you to show the size of the baby! This week we are a poker chip!
In my first pregnancy I had the What to Expect app.

craftymum01 · 08/08/2018 10:02

We have pregnancy+ too. I have tried a couple of others but this is the only one I seen to get on with

Jesscaar · 08/08/2018 10:52

@DragonFlew M&S are my go to for normal bras, I've given up on most high street shops. Haven't had a look at their maternity section yet, and will definitely give bravissimo a look.
I've been using an app called Pregnancy Week by Week by a company called Amila. They are a big fan of comparing baby size to fruit - we're a nectarine now at week 14! There's a lot of new info every week with little notes everyday to update on progress.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 08/08/2018 11:04

@bubblybrit. How are you doing? Have you had your scan yet?

Lulabell1 · 08/08/2018 11:29

Bigger bra shops...m&s sainsburys debrnhams. Online...figleaves and bra stop x
