@Lulabell1. What a lovely scan picture! I also had a private scan at 10 weeks and booked for my nhs one on Wednesday. Excited to see how much baby has grown. We found out the gender - it’s a girl! It’s so exciting waiting on those results coming through. Do you have a feeling either way? I was convinced it was a boy for some reason (not really sure why) although I’m actually delighted that it’s a girl!

Eyedontknow · 06/08/2018 23:16

@bubblybrit I'm nearly 15 weeks and period like cramps started back up for me the last week or so. Google told me it's likely the same as what @Alicejj8x suggested, round ligament pain.

For some reason they booked my 16 w appointment for 13 weeks and now I won't see a midwife until October...

I got low risk for all in the NT combined test, but the results were much higher than everyone else has gotten. (1/650 for ds) I know I shouldn't have, but I googled the blood test results to see what caused my results and my PAPP A levels were quite low (0.2, they should be close to 1). At the "16" w appointment the MW didn't even mention it, but apparently others with results similar to mine were offered additional screenings and appointments...do you think it's worth it to call them and ask?

bubblybrit · 06/08/2018 23:22

Thank you @Eyedontknow. Glad it’s not just me and it’s considered normal.

I didn’t think the nhs offered additional screening unless the results came back as high risk. Although if others have been in a similar position and additional tests have been offered then no harm in asking your MW.

Also have you considered the harmony test? I appreciate that this might not be for everyone as it is pretty expensive but it certainly put my mind at ease as the results are something like over 99%. I got low risk with the chance being 1:10000

bubblybrit · 06/08/2018 23:23

*over 99% accurate that should read!

mummakat84 · 07/08/2018 03:24

Hi, I'm 33, 12 and 5 with baby number 2. I already have a two year old daughter. We've found out this one is a boy. Yay!

Since2016 · 07/08/2018 06:42

DD was up from 2am. I slept on the sofa from 4am. I now have to leave the house in 20 mins and feel like a zombie. 😫 and it’s boiling again today!

welshweasel · 07/08/2018 07:13

@eyedontknow definitely mention the low Papp-a to the midwife - you should be offered extra growth scans as occasionally it’s a marker for growth restriction later in pregnancy.

AliceRR · 07/08/2018 07:43

I’m taking my first sick day today (certaonly my first since I’ve been pregnant, possibly first since I’ve worked at this place).

Yesterday went to work with a cold and just felt so unwell and it was a struggle so I’m staying home! Normally hate to call in sick and worry about all the stuff I need to do but I feel I don’t get much done some days anyway!! 😂

bubblybrit · 07/08/2018 08:51

@mummakat84. Congrats on having a beautiful baby boy. How exciting x

maxiflump1 · 07/08/2018 09:51

@Eyedontknow my downs risk was higher than most other peoples: was one in 751. I am however just about to turn 38 so think that may be why it's lower. Thinking about it though 1 in 751 is still good odds! How old are you if you don't mind me asking?!

@Eyedontknow I have suspicions that my PAPP-A might be low too, but I don't know the numbers. My DS was 1:4000 so not as high as yours, but higher than a lot of others here. My NT measurement was 1.4 so I know that was well within normal. I was told that if the PAPP-A is low then it's more scans from 28 weeks to check for growth as it's also a marker suggesting low birth weight and premature delivery. I haven't put on much weight so far and it's not due to sickness. My mum also didn't put on much weight whilst she was pregnant.

Picklesandpies · 07/08/2018 10:13

Just whether anyone knows how @hayleyfx is getting on? I've been thinking of her and hoping she's doing ok under the circumstances. Thanks

AliceRR · 07/08/2018 10:21

Hope you are doing ok @hayleyfx Can understand taking some time away from MN in the circumstances

AliceRR · 07/08/2018 10:23

Still waiting for my scan and booking in(!) but realising I am 13+1 which means I am 3 months pregnant and in second trimester! Dates could change with scan though ofc

LookingAtTheStars89 · 07/08/2018 10:48

How does everyone know about this PAPPA stuff? I haven't got that mentioned on my letter anywhere?

Fredthespider · 07/08/2018 11:10

First I heard about PAPP-A was at my 12 week scan when they took bloods. I got a letter/leaflet that they added to my notes. They said it would take longer to come through than the screening results and I would be sent a letter closer to 20 weeks if there was a problem. I don’t know if it’s only tested in certain areas?

Yakadee · 07/08/2018 11:27

Yeah I've never heard anything about this before either? X

hayley013 · 07/08/2018 12:14

Does everyone get bloods taken at 12 week scan? I'm unsure if I did with DD.

@AliceRR do you have appointments for booking in and scan? Seems quite late if not, but hope it's soon for you xx

ValentinesBaby · 07/08/2018 12:36

Had anyone else had sudden palpatations and tachycardia? I ended up in a&e they think I went into SVT. I'm 12+5 and just wondered if this is something that can happen with increased blood flow. Been refered for a 48hr ecg xx

MrsY87 · 07/08/2018 12:47

@ValentinesBaby I had palpitations in my first pregnancy, it's a horrible feeling. I also went to A&E and ended up having to do a 48hr ecg. My 48hr ecg was clear so they just put it down to one of those pregnancy things, hopefully it's the same for you. Strangely I didn't get them in my 2nd pregnancy 🤔

AliceRR · 07/08/2018 12:48

@hayley013 yes they are both this Friday. Just about within 14 weeks but it is a little late

clairehr · 07/08/2018 12:55

12 weeks scan went well, baby measuring ahead of last scan at 13 weeks exactly so due date moved to 12th Feb, and is a proper wriggler turning somersaults throughout the whole thing! Even sonographer called him/her a little monkey 🙈 SO IN LOVE RIGHT NOW!

clairehr · 07/08/2018 12:55

Forgot to add photo :) gender guesses welcome, although I'm not finding out!

Baby160P · 07/08/2018 12:55

Am I the only one that does understand things when they've been shortened to letters? 😩 can't keep up

Baby160P · 07/08/2018 12:56

I mean that doesn't understand things
