@Fredthespider Thankyou.

Also, as you said to @claire582 I was also told that no news was good news with the NT scan and that they would call the next day rather than just send a letter if there were concerns. They did say I could call and ask if I wanted but that it wasn’t necessary if I hadn’t heard from them, so perhaps if you’re really worried call them and ask if they have the results.

A friend of mine was really anxious before pregnancy and thought she might have pre-natal depression. Once her baby was born she then had post-natal depression.

Not saying this because I think anyone on here has anything like this but I think this is one subject that isn't spoken about enough and if anyone is feeling like things are too difficult it is so important to talk about it. I didn't even know you could get pre-natal depression!

Alicejj8x · 06/08/2018 18:33

My fertility lady said stop taking metformin at 12 weeks then the docs said about folic and vit D at 12 weeks too stop but I'm wondering if I should just buy the pregnecare tablets you can take through out the whole of pregnancy? To be safe?

bubblybrit · 06/08/2018 18:33

@lanalawr @Alicejj8x My MW gave me multivitamins which contained folic acid and vitamin D at my booking appointment. They are free in Scotland which is pretty good! She told me to take them throughout my pregnancy and come back to her once first pack was finished and she would provide more.

maxiflump1 · 06/08/2018 18:34

Welcome on board @Surprisedmom. Of course it's not too late to join! As you can see we are a chatty bunch! Sounds like you have been through a real horrible time. I'm glad that you have taken the decision to move away from your abusive DP. I have no advice but I hope your parents are supporting you and you can plan a safe future for you and your baby. Good luck with everything!

@bubblybrit
Ahhhh ok! I have pregnacare ones I brought but stoped taking
Coz they was making me gag so just took
The tiny tablet of folic and vit D but I'm
Tempted to just start them
Back up as there for the whole of pregnancy xx

Surprisedmom · 06/08/2018 18:45

@maxiflump1 thanks, I am also very glad I moved away from him and he doesn’t even know I have yet, let alone where i’ve moved to, so I’m sure baby is safely away from him.

@craftymom01 I completely agree that people aren’t very clued in to prenatal depression. With everything i’m going through i’m fairly depressed (but battling through) and intend to tell my midwife and ask for counselling - which I understand the NHS should offer me, but which I think i’ll seek privately if they won’t.

craftymum01 · 06/08/2018 18:51

@Surprisedmom you sound really clued in. I think talking to your MW is really important. They will no about services that will be available to you. So sorry for everything you have been going through. I hope you have some support now

Baby160P · 06/08/2018 19:11

For anyone interested for pelvic floors this is a good app. NHS one called Squeezy.

bubblybrit · 06/08/2018 19:21

@Alicejj8x. I was initially taking Seven Seas but the tablets were massive! Went to my booking appointment and MW made me aware that they offer the multivitamins free which are much smaller and easier to digest.

Celebelly · 06/08/2018 19:21

The free vitamins in Scotland are great. My midwife is always trying to give me more but I bought a job lot of Seven Seas pregnancy tablets when I got my BFP so I'm working my way through them first!

hayley013 · 06/08/2018 19:23

I had the worst headache last night too, strange, I think the humidity won't be helping.

Lovely to see everyone's scans, they're so cute, ours is on Thursday I can't wait!

Welcome @Surprisedmom I hope you're well and able to get some extra support when you see your midwife xx

bubblybrit · 06/08/2018 19:26

I’m 12+3 today. Stomach cramps and backache have gotten slightly worse over the last few days. Feels like my period is due any day now (I had this in the beginning but it eased off and is now back again).

Early scan at 10 weeks showed everything looking ok.

Is it normal to still feel like this? I’m back in the routine of going to the toilet every 2 mins to make sure that everything is fine.

Got another scan on Wednesday so hopefully that will put my mind at ease Confused!

MrsY · 06/08/2018 19:39

Had the strangest flashbacks! I was emailed to say I had been mentioned in this thread, and I was on the Due Feb 2009 threads!!! Very strange that there is a MrsY here too!

Hope you all have easy and boring pregnancies - Feb babies are brilliant!

Alicejj8x · 06/08/2018 19:50

@bubblybrit
I think this is normal
Hun as baby is moving and settling into its new home :)

I had a very bad sharp pain last Friday when I went
For a wee and I googled it and it sounds like it was round ligament pain. Have you googled that?
As for back ache I had some Sunday but has slightly eased up now. I'm sure it's all ok xxx

MrsY87 · 06/08/2018 19:55

You didn't have twins did you @MrsY? That would be really strange!

bubblybrit · 06/08/2018 20:03

Thanks @Alicejj8x. It’s not really that painful. Just a bit tender. I also think I’ve got mild sciatica as the pain is from my back down to my thigh on the right side only. Warm water in the shower and walking seems to ease it though. I’ll need to google the round ligament pain as I’ve heard it mentioned once or twice now.

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/08/2018 20:11

Haha sorry MrsY from 2009, that was me - I couldn't remember the numbers in the other Mrs Y's username!

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/08/2018 20:12

And welcome Surprisedmom. So sorry for what you've been through but you sound really strong, that's one lucky baby.

DragonFlew · 06/08/2018 20:13

@Alicejj8x the advice is to take Vitamin D all the way through and folic acid for first 12 weeks. However taking folic acid for longer does not have any ill effects.

All the Pregnacare range contains both as well as many more and is safe throughout.

Yakadee · 06/08/2018 20:15

Yeah I'm taking pregnacare and have been told to continue throughout x

Alicejj8x · 06/08/2018 20:24

@DragonFlew
Thank you I shall now take my pregnecare ones xx

Since2016 · 06/08/2018 20:52

Welcome @surprisedmom you sound like you’ve been through hell.
Glad you’re safe now and your baby is too. We’re a chatty bunch!

Surprisedmom · 06/08/2018 22:43

Thanks everyone for being so welcoming.

As regards the vitamins I initially took the seven seas ones then switched to the pregnacare ones, but I miss the fact that the seven seas ones have the days of the week on the pack as sometimes I have a complete fog and can’t remember if I took one already that day. Not sure if that’s just me though Smile

Lulabell1 · 06/08/2018 23:09

Even though we had an early scan privately it feels very real now from nhs one. Find out what itis on 25th!!!! So excited.
