Had our nuchal scan today. Hey baby 👋🏻

Down’s risk was 1 in 10,000(ish) and the other two less than 1 in 20,000 so low risk.

Great pic!

jeanzbeanz I think they would have rung you by now if it was bad news x

Baby160P · 03/08/2018 17:45

@LookingAtTheStars89 do you have those tests with your first scan?

Yakadee · 03/08/2018 17:47

Yeah, I think if your odds are high they call within a few days, otherwise they just post the results xx

DragonFlew · 03/08/2018 18:48

So after feeling better all week and being pretty smug about it.
I've just thrown up and feel absolutely terrible again 😂

Koalatom1 · 03/08/2018 18:53

Sooo random question, but hey why not!

Does anyone have a gender preference?

DragonFlew · 03/08/2018 19:11

@Koalatom1 after 2 beautiful boys I would love a girl this time. But as long as he/she is healthy I will be happy.

We've already decided this is our last one so I'm enjoying every bit of pregnancy - regardless of gender! 💕

How about you?

Lookingforadvice123 · 03/08/2018 19:26

Koalatom1 I feel guilty saying it but my ultimate preference is a girl, as I have DS and this will 100% be our last baby. I would love DS to have a brother just because from my experience, same sex siblings get on better, are closer etc (I'm one of two girls) but I can't shake that for me, I would prefer a girl.

Obviously I'm super grateful to be pregnant though, with (hopefully) a healthy baby. We've had it very easy conception/pregnancy wise (conceived straight away both times, no miscarriages or complications (touches wood) and a straightforward birth with DS.

DS is an absolute delightful child though, not your stereotypical "boisterous, rowdy" boy. He's a sweet, sensitive soul, so I do feel that will make the reality of having two boys easier, even if my second one is feral!

Yakadee · 03/08/2018 19:43

So like others have said, I'll just be thrilled with a lovely healthy baby but, I am slight leaning towards boy. I have a son already and would love a little buddy for him. I'm honestly happy either way though x

AliceRR · 03/08/2018 19:45

It’s my first baby so all I want is a healthy baby and I’m so happy and grateful I am pregnant. Trying to wait patiently for first scan to make sure everything is ok which is a week today!

DH really wants a girl because he has two boys already and my Mum wants me to have a boy as there are not as many boys on our side of family. Difficult not to be influenced by them. Ultimately I would love one of each but I am a bit swayed in wanting to give DH a daughter as thats what he really wants...

Side note - I would love to have twins! They don’t run in my family and I have no reason to think that I am but it’s a thought I have had...

Lookingforadvice123 · 03/08/2018 19:48

AliceRR I think it's a bit different with your first isn't it, I genuinely had not even a tiny preference with DS, although I "knew" he was a boy so I'd kind of bonded with him as a boy before I even found out for sure!

Yakadee I thought I would feel that way but I think it's because the reality of having a boy would mean no daughter, ever. It's hard isn't it. I think from DS' perspective I would prefer a boy - a little buddy for him like you said. I would never, ever be disappointed if it was a boy; I'd be over the moon that DS would get a brother. But I would feel sad for the daughter I'll never have.

Baby160P · 03/08/2018 19:52

Random but I've just noticed his under my boob.

Wondered if pregnancy related.

Not itchy or sore. 🤔

Yakadee · 03/08/2018 19:54

@Lookingforadvice123 - I know what you mean. I go back and forth. This will be our last too and I've thought about that too. It's so hard isn't it. A part of me thinks it is a girl (Don't know why) and that is exciting! Lol x

Yakadee · 03/08/2018 19:55

@Baby160P - looks like maybe something has rubbed? X

Picklesandpies · 03/08/2018 20:00

@Baby160P Sure it's just rubbing it from the heat but definitely get it checked out by the GP if it doesn't look better by Monday. Better to err on the side of caution.

Notquiteagandt · 03/08/2018 20:04

@Baby160P bra rubbing? As now too small?

DragonFlew · 03/08/2018 20:25

@Baby160P defo looks like maybe your bra has rubbed, maybe with sweat? Or heat rash?

Alicejj8x · 03/08/2018 20:30

Sooo got sucked into the reading FC game tonight at the stadium ... bless other half he said do you think we should move seats I'll this be too noisy for baby 😂 bless him don't think he realises bean can't hear just yet but I guess it was a cute thought ahaha

Since2016 · 03/08/2018 20:38

I genuinely don’t mind. This pregnancy is already so different I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a boy. Last time I secretly wanted a girl, don’t ask me why. I was convinced it was a boy ahead of the scan. This time I don’t have a preference. Not sure if this will be our last. I said I wanted 3 but we’ll see! If I get another baby with chronic health issues who doesn’t sleep then it may just be the two!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 03/08/2018 20:40

@Baby160P maybe a bit of a yeasty thing going on? Get docs to look x

Baby160P · 03/08/2018 20:52

Thanks all. Will get it checked if it doesn't go down. I've been bra-less for a couple of days 🙈

DragonFlew · 03/08/2018 21:22

@Alicejj8x haha! We are big Derby fans so are watching it on tele!

Alicejj8x · 03/08/2018 21:25

@DragonFlew
Ahhh are you lol!! It's crazy here ahah

FrowningFlamingo · 03/08/2018 21:33

baby106P that looks like intertrigo (fungal rash in skin folds, usually comes in hot and sweaty weather!) to me. Might be worth asking your pharmacist if they are happy to give you a cream for it though I don't know if they just freak out if they know you're pregnant.

I've had the email with my harmony results and all low risk, phew! We get the full report letter with numbers and the sex in the post so early next week. I'm pretty excited to find out!!

IndiX · 03/08/2018 21:36

With my DD I really wanted a girl but convinced myself it was a boy, I'm really close with my mum so I think that's why maybe I wanted a girl so badly. Not to say boys aren't close to their mum's either but I'm an only child so it's all I've ever known.
This time I genuinely don't have a preference at all, I really think it's a boy this time though. My husband thinks it's another girl but either way as long as it's healthy then I'm happy. I think same sex siblings would be lovely ( and easier for hand me down clothes and not having to redecorate the nursery 😂) but one of each would be lovely too.
