@kaytees weight gain sucks but like Decemeber says. As long as baby is healthy and we’re staying healthy what does it matter. I’ve gained a stone. Only gained half a stone up to 23 weeks and then managed to put on the other half a stone on my holiday 3 weeks ago. Managed to keep it at that now though. Was so annoyed as had been so good.
@Cakelaur my baby shower is the 21st October. We’re having an afternoon tea party at my mums. And my antenatal class is November 10th. So yes it really does feel real.
I’m starting to have little panic moments.
Is anyone else?
I’m so angry at DH for the stress he put me under regarding our bathroom. I ended up being the one sorting it all, aswell as all the other stuff I’ve been doing like decorating the nursery, working full time, juggling midwife and other appts and generally trying to focus on growing a human being. I’m shattered and i think it’s had a slight affect on my mental health. I was doing so well and being so strong and now I feel like I’m ready to crumble and I’ve started worrying myself over things like whether I’m gonna be a good Mum and if I’m going to be able to cope. X

I’m approaching 31 weeks and have gained exactly a stone. I use pregnancy weight calculator to keep track of it as I have had body/weight gain issues in the past. My weight stalled for ages a few weeks back but gain has started again, probably about half a pound a week. I am having a typical boy pregnancy - all of it is in the bump so far. The yoga seems to be preventing the swelling but is getting harder as I get heavier.

This is going to sound odd but I actually do FEEL pregnant now. Rolling over in bed is hilarious 😂

kaytees · 26/09/2018 16:01

Thanks all - seems like I'm pretty standard for this point! I think I put on 12kg roughly with my first, so it's fine really, just hard to see that number going up! I'll just assume I'm growing another massive child for now and think about the loss after baby arrives.

@Cakelaur I didn't go to Olympia last time but NCT friends did and said it was great!

@MagicalCreatures Just to say there is nothing wrong with admitting to feeling overwhelmed or like your mental health is suffering. Pregnancy is exciting and exhausting all at once, but the fact you're self aware enough to be worried about what kind of mum you'll be suggests you're already doing a great job! X

@AGirlinLondon that's a good point about the yoga and swelling. I'm trying to keep mine up and mostly managing but now the SPD has reared it's ugly head it definitely feels harder to do a lot of the poses!

balalalala · 26/09/2018 21:12

@cakelaur we stop work on the same date! Horray!

AGirlinLondon · 26/09/2018 21:32

You jammy gits finishing work so early. I am trying to get every penny I can before I go - our company mat isn’t amazing

MagicalCreatures · 26/09/2018 23:54

@kaytees Thankyou so much. You have a way with words. That makes me feel better.

On a funny note. I couldn’t get out of the bath earlier 😂

Cakelaur · 27/09/2018 08:37

@MagicalCreatures men are funny aren't they!! My OH finished early yesterday, came home and just put his feet up. (He's usually very good so I don't complain) BUT... when I came home I then had to tidy up, make dinner, sort out mail etc... and he just sat there!!! Haha! If it were down to him the nursery wouldn't be done, nothing for baby would be ordered, but every sports game would be watched!! 😂
But on a serious note, totally agree with @kaytees being pregnant does take a massive toll on our bodies, minds and emotions. I find myself feeling massively high then massively low all in the same day. Be kind to yourself, and don't be too harsh on yourself. You sound very aware of yourself and that's the first step in recognising issues. Don't be afraid to ask for help and don't be afraid to feel overwhelmed. You're defo not the only one. You'll be a great mum. I for one cannot wait for this little guy to get here so that my crazy hormones can start to regulate me back to a normal person again!! Xx

Cakelaur · 27/09/2018 08:39

@AGirlinLondon my mat leave is stat... but it's my company, so I'm just gonna nick money out of the banking if I need it!! 😂

@balalalala I so can't wait!! I've got a couple of art projects I want to get started on, as I could have nearly two months before baby arrives! Haha!!

balalalala · 27/09/2018 08:47

Two months! Wow! Lucky you! Mine is a couple of weeks holiday before mat leave kicks in. I'm hoping I'll get 4-5 weeks to finish Christmas shopping and get everything wrapped!

AGirlinLondon · 27/09/2018 13:21

@balalala good on you for doing Xmas. I’ve told our lot we are bolting the door and see them in the new year 😂

kaytees · 27/09/2018 19:46

@MagicalCreatures the bath is both a blessing and curse in third trimester - one of the few places we feel comfortable but easy to get stuck! I'd forgotten that until you said, I must remember not to take a bath if no one else is home ha

RomPom · 28/09/2018 07:15

Morning ladies, I brought mum home yesterday. Now we wait to be contacted by the oncologist to see if there's anything they can do for her. As soon as we walked in the door, my almost 2 yr old completely bypassed me and ran and gave her nanna the biggest hug she's ever given anyone! It was so lovely.

I have to say, this pregnancy has been pretty easy lately. Maybe little nugget has a 6th sense that she needs to behave and give me a break. There's been pretty consistent movements despite the anterior placenta and the horrendous heartburn and acid has eased up! I'm supposed to be embarking on my new career this week, but think I might put it on hold for a couple of weeks.

@MagicalCreatures you already sound like a great mum! I worried throughout my 1st pregnancy about being a good mum and now I worry about how I'll be a good mum to 2. Easier said than done, but try not to stress. I highly recommend a pregnancy massage.

balalalala · 28/09/2018 10:10

@agirlinlondon I just love Christmas! Although we've been very careful not to commit to anything this year!

@rompom how lovely of your little girl. It sounds very sensible to hold off the career move for a little while!

AGirlinLondon · 28/09/2018 11:45

@balalala my family are Christmas CRAZY so I will be sad to miss it but fun to have Xmas on our own this year.

Exciting thing happened last night - baby is now big enough for me to almost ‘hold’ him! I can feel his head, bum and legs through my bump - I can tell which way up he is. Don’t know why but I didn’t really expect to be able to do that so it was really exciting!

Athers666 · 28/09/2018 11:52

Had my Anti D jab at the hospital yesterday. Didn't hurt and I was in and out within minutes! I have been so jammy with all ny routine appointments so far. Baby is still beating me up, he just whacks, rustles and rolls all day and night long! I can't wait for mat leav but I have until the start of December to go. I just want to sleep all the time 😂

MagicalCreatures · 28/09/2018 14:43

@RomPom I bet that bought tears to your eyes didn’t it. It’s so lovely how close they are.
And Thankyou for your kind words. They mean a lot.

I just LOVE Christmas. But am absolutely shitting myself about the possibility of giving birth on Xmas day, 3 days early.
We already have my dads birthday Xmas eve and my sisters on my due date, the 28th. But please not a Xmas day birthday. That would be awful for bubba.
I’ve told everyone that I’m gonna get in the car and my husband has to drive at 10mph (to carefully avoid any bumps in the road)to my mums which is only 10 minutes away and I’m gonna go in and sit on my fat pregnant arse and not move until the day is over. I don’t wanna start labour off 😂

Do

OP posts:
Athers666 · 28/09/2018 14:53

I'm due on the 15th and I'm worried about giving birth on Xmas day as well! It will be just my luck though. I hope there'll be staff at the hospital 😂😣

SunshineSnowflakesDaydreams · 29/09/2018 04:34

🤣🤣
I'm also a HUGE lover of Christmas! My son's due date was the 16th December and all day Christmas Eve and Christmas I had everything crossed I wouldn't go into labour! He arrived on the 28th.
This time my due date is the 17th December and if she's not here by the 21st I'm going to demand an induction!
I love having Christmas babies though! Yes, it's an expensive time of year and it requires so much more organisation and planning but it's lovely.

Athers666 · 30/09/2018 19:19

This may sound silly but does anyone else find the kicks and jabs can be painful? When I lie on my side I often get a very hard kick in the side I'm lying on that makes me yelp. I'm ashamed to say I'm currently sat in tears! I'm becoming frightened to lie down but I'm also tired so I need to! But it feels like I'm being shot! It's a little better if I lie on my back but I know that isn't recommended so I'm just feeling so fed up.

raysan1 · 30/09/2018 20:59

@athers, i have the opposite. Sometimes its just flutters. I did feel them quite late, so maybe in 4 weeks i will catch up. Have heard they can be very painful.
Does anything calm bubba like talking, pressure, music?

AGirlinLondon · 01/10/2018 06:50

Hey @Athers how many weeks are you? Don’t panic. I get the same if I lie on my right side. The baby is head down with feet up on my right so basically I am squashing him a tiny bit if I lie that way but it doesn’t hurt him. I’m at week 32 now so he is big and kicks hard!! I went for an ultrasound to see what the different sensations were.

My OH touching him/talking to him or me getting up and walking around a little bit usually calms him down a touch but he is most active when I am trying to fall asleep ☺️

0lgaDaPolga · 01/10/2018 13:08

Hi all, I’ve been absent for a while. All good here I just find it easier to keep up with the Facebook group, I’m a bit rubbish on here!

I’m finding the kicks still fairly gentle. I’m 31 weeks. I remember them being more powerful with my son but then again I think this baby is still breech so that might affect how I am feeling the movements.

I’m feeling really big already and finding it hard to get around. My son is only 16 months and not properly walking yet so I’m having to carry him lots and it’s really tiring. I’m having mum guilt at not doing enough with him as I just don’t have the energy to go to all the groups and classes we used to. Sad the only consolation is all the worries I had over handling 2 under 2 are dissipating as I’m thinking a newborn and a toddler has to be easier than pregnant with a toddler!

kaytees · 01/10/2018 16:20

@Athers666 that sounds rough, did you manage to find a comfy position? Decent cushion or pillow under bump maybe? I had similar with my first - was quite breathtaking at times! The worst was on a long haul flight from Australia... never again. This time round I'm carrying lower so hasn't happened yet.

Had my whooping cough and flu vaccines this morning and now sat here with 2 dead arms and a very clingy toddler... one of those days it feels that bit harder being pregnant!

applesauce1 · 01/10/2018 16:58

I'm feeling and seeing most movements below my tummy button, sometimes really quite low down. I've only felt baby kick above my tummy button once.
My midwife told me that baby is head down, but is this a sign that baby is actually feet down now?

0lgaDaPolga · 01/10/2018 18:14

@applesauce1 not necessarily. Mine is breech but most of the movements are high up. When we had a 3D scan his feet were right up next to his head!
