Minipop · 04/06/2007 10:32

Yeap. I am going to take some mags and a good book - my MW said the same thing.

I am also tempted to take my GHDs ;-)

Juicylucytoo · 04/06/2007 11:35

No action here either. Got MW appt in an hour. I am a week over today, so hoping I can push induction back until next Monday.

Baby is very active, I'm just fed up of waiting. Spoke to a friend who is a reflexologist and she's not happy to practice on me til after - thinks I'm better off waiting for it to happen au naturel. May still look into Acupuncture, if Baby isn't here by Wed.

I'm sort of resigned to the baby arriving on Wednesday, which will be my 40th Birthday. At least there's no topping a present like that - although I'd always thought of celebrating that birthday in a slightly different way

Hope your inductions go well Minipop and MID, or even better that your lo's decide to make an inpromptu appearance of their own free will before then.

No sign of Scoot - could this mean she's in labour?? Hope so.

cameroonmama · 04/06/2007 11:50

Hey ladies, keep positive, not long now til you are with us on the postnatal! No sign of Scoot, lets keep our fingers crossed something is happening for her and good luck with the inductions tomorrow.

madeindevon2 · 04/06/2007 12:10

just texted scoot
no reply yet

scootermum · 04/06/2007 12:21

No no, not in labour..just having a little sleep.

So what happens at induction then, given that im pretty much in the last chance saloon, and will be having one tomorrow?

They mess about with some hormone gel and a drip do they?I have to call at 1pm tomorrow to see if they've a bed..will be a bit annoying if they dont!I will go and buy some magazines in a bit.6 people to a ward at my hosp, no sleep till I get home then...and can I reccomend Primark for the best PJ action..they have some really quite nice ones, cheap at half the price..

There was no where to plug my GHD's in last time minipop..and worse still, ditto the hairdryer...so I look great on all the first pictures of DD..like a very washed out Worzel Gummige..am taking a lage tube of Beauty flash balm to slather on and my Benefit Dandelion, to see if I cant look a bit perkier for this one...

My Mum managed to have a go at me last night over something that happened years ago..so spent most of the evening sobbing as have really had enough...I mean who has a go at a woman 11 days overdue about ANYTHING, never mind something thats dead and buried?...maybe its me being over sensitive, but really...thats the only reason I am ok re the induction.. sooner I have the baby, sooner I get my house back and the less damage done to relations with parents...

Well, hoping for some last ditch labour action for everyone today!

Minipop · 04/06/2007 12:52

Bugger re: GHDs! I do have slix cordless hair straighteners, but they are a bit crap. Good idea re: Benefit Dandelion (it's fab, isn't it?) I will also take benetint, some gloss and some good mascara

I wasn't going to bother, but if I am going to be in for a couple of nights at least, it may make me feel better/more human.

I am tired, but fairly calm today.Hope I can stay like this until tomorrow.

InTheseShoes · 04/06/2007 13:17

Afternoon! What's going on here then???

Ted Patrick Fergus was born at 10.28am on Friday weighing 10lb 7 oz!!!He's gorgeous and yummy and (so far) very good at eating and sleeping. Birth story to follow.

Congrays Jooliewoolie, good luck everyone else!!

scootermum · 04/06/2007 15:35

Hurrah for Intheseshoe!I love the name too!And that is some weight!Well done you....and welcome to Ted!

Minipop-I had a very bad accident with some Benetint once as I went a bit overboard with it and it wouldnt come off for days..I looked like a doll!Have you tried Benefit Lemonaid? Its meant to be fabulous and am wondering wether to bob to Boots for some now(obviously this is all essential birth kit!)
Cordless straighteners..Genius..why didnt I think of that?..that said with my hair nothing less than the GHD can begin to make a difference..may take a hat!

madeindevon2 · 04/06/2007 16:50

Congrats ITS lovely names and great weight.

Good luck MID cant wait to hear your news.

coggy · 04/06/2007 19:51

Oh...I'm sorry.......what I meant was......I can't actually believe that Juicy is a week overdue already.

I do apologise for exciting you very-pg ladies and I hope I haven't started anyone off adversly with my accidently cryptic message!!!

Relax again.....I am going!!!!!

Juicylucytoo · 04/06/2007 20:01

Not a chance girls. Nothing doing. Pod is determined to spoil my birthday by either having me in labour all day on Wednesday, or making making any effort atall to come out, so I spend another day waiting.

Naughty Coggy getting you all excited for nothing

Good luck with the inductions MID, minipop and Scoot. Hope they all go smoothly and aren't too uncomfortable.

I'll probably still be here when you get back! Anyone else still around??

coggy · 04/06/2007 20:03
Grin
Juicylucytoo · 04/06/2007 20:16

Forgot to add - well done ITS - that's some sized baby. REALLY well done!!!

Scoot - can't believe your mum for you!! DH now knows to his cost not to critise ANYTHING for the next month!!!

rubles · 04/06/2007 20:20

Juicylucy, just popping on to see what the midwife said today - in fact, I only come on mumsnet these days to check your progress. I was completely convinced that you were going have your baby on Sunday, but alas no.
I must confess, I did actually meet you and Befnalbub recently, but felt a bit weird saying 'oh I know you, I'm rubles' so didn't say anything.

My sympathies to all of you still waiting. I was living with my sister when she went 19 days over, so I have seen close up the upset and derangement that it causes.

BefnalBub · 04/06/2007 20:35

i'm intrigued! are you one of the yoga bumps?

Juicylucytoo · 04/06/2007 20:35

Rubles you silly moo - you should have "outed" yourself, but I know what you mean it's a bit wierd isn't it!!

MW said CTG Friday and Saturday then if still nothing, hospital induction on Sunday. Pod has 6 more days to be born at home, assuming the scans are ok Friday and Saturday, then it's out of our hands and nights spent in the Royal (yuk)

How are you doing?

rubles · 04/06/2007 20:46

Befnal - yes!

rubles · 04/06/2007 20:51

Did she give you a sweep Juicy, or have a feel?
