Congratulations to Lupins, Aprilmeadow, Toomanyprojects, drkgpink, Peacemakerukuk, WestEndWoman, dejags, SkyTVAddict, AbbyLou, Bensonbluebird, Anneme, Creena, ShowofHands, Cameroonmamma, BefnalBub, Megglevache, DizzyBrummie, MrsJaffaBiffa, Pink Jenny, Pebblemum, Gingerbear, Lwatkins, MKG, Cinnamontam, LilKel, Sumsey, LG&T, jonahb and twelveyeargap. Sorry if I have missed anyone out, hope you are all well and settling in nicely.

Dejags I hope Carys is feeling better and is out of hospital soon.

I am tryng to catch up with you guys and find out where everyone is up to. DH has let me back on the laptop and I thought DS2 would be up any minute for a feed so thought I would catch up a little - 2 hours later and he is still asleep . Not that I am complaining but sods law as soon as I settle down for a snooze he will be shouting for his early morning snack.

Just to reassure those of you still hanging in there DD was born 20 minutes before I was due to be induced. The day before my planned induction I tried the works - pineaple, curry, sex and walking miles. Not necessarily in that order, the birthing ball is always handy to lean over for one of those activities. sorry if TMI. Also if you are not sure if you want to be induced you can ask for a little extentsion in some areas and ask to be put on daily monitoring or you just get to the point of get this baby out of here and don't care how as long as it is now.

Anyway I hope to start getting back on line a bit more frequently and hopefully catch up with you all soon. I think I read about the postnatal thread earlier so will try to join in over there and hopefully see you all over there soon. Take care and positive labour vibes coming your way.

PS with regard to swimming and breast pads don't forget to take them out, if you have the ultra absorbent ones you come out of the pool looking like a slightly deformed Pamela Anderson.

Good morning all..

Again no baby for me, and no sign of one..
Parents back cest soir..had so hoped to go into labour whilst they were gone..but DH back to work tomorrow and someone needs to be here just in case for DD purposes..
Induction looms..

Hope all are well..

madeindevon2 · 03/06/2007 08:56

morning scoot and all
nothing doing for me either. dont feel any different. no twinges or anything.
having reflexology at 10.30 then its 3rd time lucky for sweep after that at lunchtime. TBH i'm expecting MW to say the same....very posterior...but we shall see!
feeling quite upbeat tho and plan to enjoy my day. important to stay positive...DH just gone out for day to see his children and i told him tonights the night....he doesnt believe me....prob because i been saying that for the last month!! haha

mum is going crazy waiting too but in a nice way. she not bugging me. she has to work on 11th june but was always planning on coming up for a week when baby born. so she thinks she is gonna come up next weekend. go home again then come back on the 12th for a week. bearing in mind she lives 4 hr drive away i think she is nuts! but she says if baby born next week (which it will be....induction on tuesday) she wont be able to wait a week to see baby!! crazy lady....

scootermum · 03/06/2007 10:52

Let me know how you get on with your sweep then love, you never know you may get a pleaseant surprise and be about 5 cm dialted or something!...I feel quite chipper today as well..think its knowing the baby will be here come what may pretty soon...

Are we the only ones left do you reckon?

Helloooo out there?!

Juicylucytoo · 03/06/2007 14:00

Hope your sweep is productive MID.

Nothing happening here. The little fella is far too comfortable. MW appt tomorrow, so hopefully something will happen tonight, otherwise I have to start negotiations with the hospital re delaying induction.

May get offered a sweep first, though. We'll see.

Hope you can all enjoy your sunny Sunday, despite no signs of labour!

juliewoolie · 03/06/2007 14:14

woo hoo i have had a baby!!!!!!!!!

Archie James, 8lb's 3oz's, went into labour Friday eve gave birth 2.36am Sunday 3rd.

Will post proper birth announcement later.

madeindevon2 · 03/06/2007 15:28

many congrats Julie!!!! look fwd to reading the birth annoucement!!! great news.
that means how many left? scoot, me, minipop, juicy lucy...that it? what about ITS? no word?

update on me.
reflexology great. really recommend it. she said she could feel something was going on with uterus (also could tell shoulders were tight and im a litte dehydrated too....) was quite impressed with it actually. will def consider if again in future for other things.

went straight from there to the drop in midwife clinic and my community midwife was the one on duty! so nice to see familiar face. and turns out reflexologist was right. my cervix has moved forward and is thinning and has dilated a bit BUT baby head had moved backwards....bit annoying! could be because had been lying down for hour at reflexologist?
anyway. ive been for a nice walk around the lake in the park hoping to shift baby down. and now im bouncing on the ball.
she did say another possibility is that baby head not fitting well into pelvis (been concerns all along about baby being big) but only way we can know that is to try....
she talked me thru induction and also c section incase. has advised me to go for epidural if i get induced because will be less mobile and coz of size of baby and incase baby doesnt fit they can just top it up before doing section.
strangly not worried about any of this. what will be will be BUT im hoping and praying i go into labour tonight. feeling like it might but also trying not to get hopes up incase i don.t anyway still got monday too, induction not til tuesday.

so if anyone got any other advice on how to shift babies naturally im all ears!!!

Minipop · 03/06/2007 15:47

Congats Julie - wonderful news!

Nothing going on here. Did lose more mucus this morning (soz if TMI), but other than that NOT A TWINGE. Rien. Nada.

Bugger

scootermum · 03/06/2007 15:57

Nor here!Except have burnt myself silly in the park witH DD..slathered her in sun cream..forgot to do myself quite so well!

CONGRATULATIONS JULIE!Such good news as I know how worried you were re induction as well!

Sounds hopeful MID!Am sending you strong labour vibes...

Oh well..

And then there were four!

cinnamontam · 03/06/2007 15:59

Hulllooo - finally posted birth announcement. Have stolen DH's laptop to do it - get mine back tomorrow THANK GOD after getting it rebuilt after dying last week. Miss you guys and will go back and read through to see how everyone is.

Matilda

aprilmeadow · 03/06/2007 16:03

Congratulations Julie

madeindevon2 · 03/06/2007 16:06

see if you can have some reflexology tomorrow scoot. if your parents are there to look after dd. get your dh to stump up the cash for it (after all you deserve it!!) at the very least i found it very relaxing and at best it will do something!
she put pen marks on my feet on the specific pressure points and im gonna get either my sister or dh to do a bit of diy reflexology later!

scootermum · 03/06/2007 16:13

My Mum is a trained reflexologist and acupuncturist..she was a physio and did some extras...she would like nothing better than to stick some pins in me im sure..She is bringing her needles..

Felt quite cheery before..now have red knees, a sun induced headache and am sick sick sick of being pregnant..plus I forgot to get anything for tonights tea..sodding hell...

tra la la la..will sing self into a better mood..

That said have just been on Topshop online and bought some sensibly smocked, but non maternity(!) items for post partum wear..which has perked me up a little..plus have finished reading volume 2 of the Forsyte saga..which because I keep falling asleep has taken me almost as long as it has taken me to cook this baby!So something has been achieved today at least..

madeindevon2 · 03/06/2007 16:42

there you go then! reflexology and acupuncture for you tonight then!
going to sisters for bbq later so off the hook with sorting out something for dinner

JonahB · 03/06/2007 18:46

A BIG congratulations to Intheseshoes ? the RL grapevine told me about an hour ago that her LO2 was delivered on Friday. I?ll let her tell you all her details when she?s back online!!!!!!!

JonahB · 03/06/2007 18:46

A big congratulations to you too Julie!! I didn't read the threads before i posted my previous message.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 03/06/2007 20:16

Can I add my congrats to Juliewoolie and intheseshoes......and big labour vibes to the few of you still waiting. Come and talk to the June lot if you're feeling lonely on here!!

scootermum · 03/06/2007 20:37

Oh yay..good for Intheseshoes! Was getting a bit worried there...cant wait to hear all about it..thanks for letting us know Jonah..hope you are ok and the little one?

Thanks Daisy...it is getting a bit lonely on here..

Juicylucytoo · 03/06/2007 21:34

Congratulations Julie!! Wow, hope that means my baby will be here soon.

Hope your experience at the Royal was ok and you get home soon.

Congratulations Intheseshoes.

Am now desperately trying to organise reflexology for the next day or so.

Hope Scoot me and MID are announcing baby arrivals soon.

juliewoolie · 03/06/2007 22:15

JL, thanks was home by lunchtime today, overall Royal was not to bad.

Any of you thinking of the accupuncture route, I had booked in with someone who is an ex midwife and fully trained acupuncturist, works in Islington and Hackney, if you want her number give me a shout.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 04/06/2007 08:15

So...any more babies?????

I've got my pre-theatre assessment for my c-section tomorrow.....I was hoping I'd start on my own and then not have the c-section, but alas, no (but then again I'm not due till 10th). That is in spite of over a week now of false labour.

I feel a bit guilty that I will definately have my LO tomorrow and some of you are still waiting.

I went 12 days over with my DS so I know how frustrating this last bit can be.

Yet more big labour vibes to you all!!

Minipop · 04/06/2007 09:08

Good morning everyone!

Any developments overnight?

Still nothing....I am resigned to the fact I will be induced tomorrow night and that the end IS in sight. I am trying desperately to stay positive and focus on the most important thing - the safe delivery of my baby rather than my romantic notions of how the birth should be.

Julie - so the Royal was OK? I used to live very close to the Royal. Years ago I used to think it was a bit grimy (although I never saw the labour ward). Glad it's improved and that you had a good experience. Congrats again! x

madeindevon2 · 04/06/2007 09:14

hi minipop. same for me. nothing happening overnight. i got to call ward at 6pm tonight to see when they want me to go in for induction tomorrow.
i am 12 days overdue today.
bit disappointed nothing happened last night to be honest but i now got to accept i wont be having my calm water birth in the birthing centre....induction on the ward it is...
going out today to buysome nice p'j's if im gonna be staying in with loads of others (didnt bother when i thought i wouldnt be staying in...the only single rooms are in birthing centre..i will be on ward of 8....nice)

Minipop · 04/06/2007 09:40

Hi MID2
I am lucky in the sense that I will be on a ward with just 3 other women.

Good idea with new PJs. I have a really pretty Seraphine nighty plus some cute breastfeeding nighties from Verdbaudet. However, for the hospital I have some bog standard Mothercare ones in case they get a bit..you know...messy!

Weird to think that whatever happens, tonight is our last night as a couple. Sometimes I can't get my head around the fact that there will be a real live baby here in a few days

madeindevon2 · 04/06/2007 09:55

i was gonna get some nice nursing ones i think for before and after. to be honest id rather just wear one of their gowns when in labour! i got some cheap black ones from sainsburys too for that. ive been told there is a lot of waiting about anyway. MW told me to take a good book for the 1st bit...when they put gel in.
