hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foxybrown · 31/05/2007 09:47

Have you had anymore since Bumper?

bumperlicious · 31/05/2007 09:49

Nah, don't think it's labour unfortunately! Though every time I wake up in the night with pain I think "is this it?". It went after a few minutes. Just felt like really bad period pain on my right hand side. It's fine now though.

foxybrown · 31/05/2007 10:00

I get woken up with lots of aches and pains, all on one side or the other and like I've got a stitch.

I'm off to the park. Hope it doesn't rain. again.

BZ - DP needed the car for work, so sadly can't come over to Hornimans . Shame, would have really liked to have met up. But its a good plan for the summer. So lets go when the babies are out?

annobal · 31/05/2007 10:05

Oooh, I like Hornimans, can I come too??

We're off to meet DH in town for lunch then coffee with a friend at the National Gallery, so will catch up with the days events this evening.

Bumper, it could just be the way the baby is lying or kicking but I have always associated period pain with labour. Good luck if anything else starts happenning.

bumperlicious · 31/05/2007 10:05

Argh! I hate this waiting! I would mind it being 4 weeks away if I just knew it would be 4 weeks. This uncertainty goes against every control freak bone in my body!

Missing the structure and routine in my life! I know, I know, I should appreciate the time off doing nothing, but I'm just so institutionalised! Hmm, think I might go to a singing class today. At least it's pay day too!

bumperlicious · 31/05/2007 10:07

that's I wouldn't mind... one day I'm going ot seriously get myself into trouble by missing out negative suffixes - I do it all the time!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 31/05/2007 10:10

Ha Annobal....I've been having contractions and period type pains on and off for over a week now (5 weeks if you count my sojourn to hospital at 33 weeks)....blardy false labour innit!

One woman on here said she had false labour for 19 days prior to the real mccoy....19 days...gaaaargh

Still, will ask my MW to have a shifty up there today (don't think she will, but if you don't ask...) and see whether anything is happening.

My lovely lovely friends have taken DS swimming this morning....I owe them big time for this, and can see a sleep over for their two coming off soon, which DH will need to manage....I just love all this looking after I'm getting!!

foxybrown · 31/05/2007 10:11

Its hard giving up work Bumper, you basically assume a new identity once your lo is born. XXXX's Mum. There does come a point where you think "who the hell am I?".

If I were you I'd treat this bit as though you are on annual leave and have fun!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 31/05/2007 10:13

Yes, enjoy it Bumper and make the most of sitting around resting......your feet won't hit the ground for weeks after the bub is born...

Foxy, i'm obviously just Cs mum....when you have more than one, is it like having a split personality?

riabutterflew · 31/05/2007 10:15

Morning all. Love the names thread BZ, though Orion is quite classy(?).

It's amazing what a half-decent nights sleep can do for you (for the first half hour of the day anyway!) Nice weather luckily, so the boys can play outside and I can chill out. Might even go and get that book later on...

Have a good day ladies.Rx

madeindevon2 · 31/05/2007 10:17

morning ladies (crashing from may thread) im 41 + 1 today but as MW said cervix very posterior yesterday im fully expecting to be joining you all tomorrow if thats ok? another may baby born in the night TYG has her bundle of joy. great news!
i believe there are 6 of us yet to pop....

bumperlicious · 31/05/2007 10:17

That's exactly what I'm worried about. I've always been defined by my education, job etc. which I like, not having many other other particular skills or creativity to single me out, academia/work has always been my thing.

Hmm, perhaps I need to find a hobby (ok, I know I'm semi delusional if I think I can start a new hobby with a newborn baby, but humour me for a bit!). Any suggestions?

I really want to have ice skating lessons when I'm a bit fitter later in the year. Do you think that will give me enough time to train for the 2012 Olympics?

bumperlicious · 31/05/2007 10:20

Hi madeindevon2, how are you feeling? Is this your first? 6 still left to go? Eeek!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 31/05/2007 10:24

hi madeindevon...I saw TYGs post thinking she had a stomach bug....then Mr TYGs seven hours later....blimey that was a quick one.

You never know, there may be a final flurry tomorrow for the full moon!!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 31/05/2007 10:26

Not seen holly for a day or two....is she at her folks again?

hollyandalice · 31/05/2007 10:27

Talk of the devil !!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 31/05/2007 10:29

Have you just been lurking or something?....waiting to see how long it was until you were missed?

hollyandalice · 31/05/2007 10:57

No, I'd literally just logged in and then the mw turned up!!

I haven't caught up yet, but I take it there's no more babies! What is up with us? The May ladies had got well and truly going by now!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 31/05/2007 10:59

am that your MWs do housecalls....I've got to squeeze my fat bulk into the car and drive there, which, when you've been having the sort of BHs I have....is not a lot of fun at all!

Talking of which, appointment is in 15 mins...

What did yours have to say holly?...

hollyandalice · 31/05/2007 11:04

I don't usually get home calls, but she had to drop off the HB kit...it is bloody massive and full of scary stuff!! Needles and the like! Everything is fine, but I am at the cut off point with my iron levels for a HB, so she took some more blood to make sure they were better. Fingers crossed! Hope your appt goes well daisy.

madeindevon2 · 31/05/2007 11:52

hi all. im ok. have to say a little fed up now. especially as prospect of induction is looming
but i still got another sweep (maybe 2) to try before we get to that.
this is my first baby yeah and last actually. dh already has 3 so i dont think we be having anymore. fingers crossed i go into labour naturally soon!
i was having growth scans because baby was big they thought, estimated 7.5lb at acan at 36 weeks. over 5 weeks later i wonder what baby weighs now...i feel massive.

foxybrown · 31/05/2007 13:02

get some mango juice down you Madeindevon!

hopefully the full moon will work its magic! Good luck (I'll be undoubtedly slipping over to July!)

hollyandalice · 31/05/2007 13:18

I had to be induced at 12 days over with my dd madeindevon, so I know how you feel! It's the most tedious wait in the world! Hopefully those sweeps will work. Try evening primrose oil too, apparently it has prostaglandins in! Good luck!

OMG foxy, I'm really scared of my HB kit! I just had a proper look in it and it's full of really scary stuff! Catheters, sutures, needles, drugs and all sorts! I think it all seems pretty real now and I'm bricking it!

riabutterflew · 31/05/2007 13:32

I hope I don't go over. I am doing bugger all today, I can't stop sleeping. Have just had delicious pasta DH made me.

Homebirth kits sound scary. Am glad I can't have one, even if I wanted to!

Am off to convince DS2 he wants a nap...

foxybrown · 31/05/2007 13:48

Only got as far as the crochet hook, Holly. Best not to look. We get a huge bin bag delivered, but its mainly vomit bowls and bed mats (I'm telling myself!)

Blardy DD hasn't weed all morning - til now. Right down the back of the sofa!! Grrrr. Have to change all the covers and cover it with bicarb! Just what I wanted to do today!
