Split with kids dad when pg with dd 5 yrs ago and was finished with babies, met new partner see thread on lone parents who incidentally has no kids as he has a low sperm count and what he does have are swimming backwards so to get a BFP this morning was well a huge shock!! But hey its amazing !!

Egg · 29/05/2007 17:35

Hello miniandme! We are due on same day I think and I just got my BFP this morning too!

Wow on your conception! Very well done to those backwards swimming sperm! Bet he is mighty chuffed .

beansprout · 29/05/2007 17:38

Hello miniandme!! Congratulations to those detemined sperm!
Please add yourself to our list!

I am also part of a step/blended family, (whatever we are called!). Dh has 2 dds, 19 and 22 and we have a ds aged 2.

beansprout - 4+4, ds 2.7y, due 1st Feb
Egg - 4+3, DS 15 months, Due 4 Feb

Egg · 29/05/2007 19:22

Beansprout - did you look at my profile or have you seen the Zappata thread? A Zappata is someone who has a more than mild interest in the Zapp buggy, especially orange ones. It started when they were selling them for £75 at boots.com and a few of us got one thanks to a thread that was started, then we enjoyed all chatting so we keep up our daily chat now on that thread. We have already exceeded the limit on one thread and are nearing the end on another. I think we have too much time on our hands so we talk mindlessly throughout the day.

Sorry, perhaps that was a bit too long winded .

If you want to see a pic of my DS in his lovely orange Zapp, have a look at Squonk's profile (I cannot get a pic on mine despite various attempts).

Oh, and I AM STILL PREGNANT! Sorry, has not quite sunk in yet...

fryalot · 29/05/2007 19:30

am just adding a post so if anyone wants to see egg's ds in her zapp they don't have to come and find me

DearBeatrice · 29/05/2007 19:32

hi again girls, nice to see more new joiners - hope i've picked up the right stats thread to add to?

Milf, 4, DD 15mths, due approx 7th Feb.
mummyto2littleprincess, 7 weeks, dd1-4y dd2-2y
beansprout - 4+4, ds 2.7y, due 1st Feb
Egg - 4+3, DS 15 months, Due 4 Feb
dearbeatrice - 4+1 (is that right? my last af started 30 april) this is my first - due approx 7 feb too

feeling really scared tonight; have dull back ache and although i still feel sicky, have sore boobs, i made the mistake of checking my cervix and i think it's gone 'hard' - which usualy happens before af.

is anyone else feeling like af will still come? i tested early and now wish i hadn't

Egg · 29/05/2007 19:36

Thanks squonk!

DearBeatrice - I have been feeling like AF is coming since Friday, a bit of crampy pain, a bit of backache, a bit sick, some stitch-like pains, it is still there a bit, but not as bad since I have stopped stressing that I might NOT actually be pregnant! I think I was making it worse. I do remember having AF-type pains for a fair few weeks with DS too.

DearBeatrice · 29/05/2007 19:57

hi Egg thanks for the reassurance; i've just done a quick search and see that it's to be expected. good point re the stressing making it worse.

am intrigued by the orange zapp buggies now i'm severely lacking inmy knowledge of baby kit stuff

Egg · 29/05/2007 20:01

The Zapp is not much good for a newborn. Although it can take the maxi cosi car seat from newborn, I have heard they tip quite easily like that so are best for an older baby / toddler. Oooh you will get to do all the pram research now! I am very as I have to use the same as before (Jané Slalom Pro, it is great but weighs a TONNE). If you need any pram advice, look for Misdee, she has tried them all!

j20baby · 29/05/2007 20:03

omg, a feb thread already!!! congratulations everyone

cathcart · 29/05/2007 20:09

congratulations all of you!
dd will be 1 on 1st feb 08!

beansprout · 29/05/2007 20:35

Ahhhh, I see! I feel I like I have now been initiated into the way of the Zap (and thank you to Squonk for making it so easy!)
Have always tried to stay away from pram upgrades as I can see it getting v expensive but can't see ye olde M&P Pliko notching up another 3 years service so may well be forced into some research.

And, apparently, I am still pregnant too!!

DearBeatrice - I know exactly how you feel. These early weeks are very scary. It has taken us a year to conceive and the thought of going back to square one is very depressing. I have decided not to temp or do any more tests on the basis that they won't save me and I'll just go mad in the meantime, but it is very difficult to resist the temptation to try to reassure myself. The bummer is that all the v pregnancy symptoms are the same as the pre-menstrual ones so it's impossible to know what's what. I am trying to let go and trust which is not easy for a neurotic control freak . Hope you are ok.

scaredtobits · 30/05/2007 14:10

can i tentatively join af not due for a few days but got a faint bfp today im terrified and sure that things will go wrong but just had to tell someone before i implode!

tegan · 30/05/2007 14:25

Well still no af so still keeping fingers crossed. Just hoping the bfn I had yesterday will suddenly become a bfp.

Egg · 30/05/2007 17:33

Hi scaredtobits. Welcome! Try not to be too scared [she says, being terrified herself that something will go wrong]. How many weeks / days do you think you are?

Tegan fingers crossed, if no AF yet that's good news!

Egg · 30/05/2007 17:40

BTW Beansprout, you DEFINITELY need a new pram. I think I do too .

scaredtobits · 30/05/2007 19:16

i'll be 4w at the w/end. im a namechanger im afraid, just dont want to jinx it tbh

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 30/05/2007 19:19

I was looking at prams today and I don't want to jinx it either

Don't feel pregnant and waiting for someone to say it is all a horrible mistake... when should the pregnancy symptoms start?

SO badly want this baby to stick!

Egg · 30/05/2007 19:38

I don't feel pregnant either, except for the occasional AF type pains now. Last time had sore and "itchy" boobs, nothing like that yet. I am worried about jinxing but am satisfying my urge to shout it from the rooftops by announcing it on here and keeping quiet in RL.

beansprout · 30/05/2007 20:38

No symptoms here either, apart from some low level cramping. Did another test this morning just to make sure. A few weeks of this could drive a girl a bit mad. Wibble.

studentmum1 · 30/05/2007 21:56

feeln very depressed, i really thought i was pregnant, did test a couple of days and it was neg. i thought it was too early... unfortunatly my period has arrived this afternoon i really thought i was...i had 4 straight days of nausua and my tums been very painful. oh well, good luck to all you ladies already here and fingers crossed i'll be on next months!!

agr4y · 31/05/2007 00:24

Hi ladies can i join you all? I'm new to mumsnet and due 1st of Feb 2008.
I'm looking forward to a happy 8 months.

beansprout · 31/05/2007 05:35

Welcome to agr1y and scaredtobits.

So, insomnia not going to be a problem for me this time round then...
