Bugger, have to go, washing machine man is here. New thread title thoughts anyone?? Is now the time for the use of oral prostaglandins !!

BadZelda · 25/05/2007 14:54

Can I suggest 'Due in June: Get your birth on!

mytwocents · 25/05/2007 14:57

I want sardines now!!
CONGRATULATIONS to lilkel!! Lovely name.

I'm only working three days a week Sputnik and slacking for most of it! ...No, I have alot to hand over as I've decided to take a year off and am fairly new at this job. Having brighton friday syndrome though where everyone you try to call has left the office for the day as the sun is shining....whole town of slackers i tell ya!!

Move is now scheduled for sat 16th but we STILL havent exchanged.... am getting ansy as we've been here before and it all fell through... do'nt think I can stand my neighbour much longer and am desperate to set up baby stuff. Should'nt moan though, at least we have a roof over our heads...

What flavour ice cream??

BadZelda · 25/05/2007 15:00

Doggus so sorry to hear that. Glad she didn't suffer, but so hard to deal with: you sound like you're coping amazingly well. Thinking of you. xxz

alisonjane · 25/05/2007 15:16

Hi everyone
Is anyone due to have their first Elective Caesarian in June?

I have mine on 13th June its my first baby and I am really scared about the whole thing

sputnik · 25/05/2007 15:16

Holly, does your brother sleep with the computer or something?

sputnik · 25/05/2007 15:26

Alisonjane, the first of us had her elective section today (Lilkel). A couple of weeks ago she was just like you, getting cold feet etc. Daisybump is bound to be around soon, she is having an elective too. There are some others too who may or may not be. Try not to worry, I think it's like that for all of us, first or not, elective cs or not.
This is a great place to chat and share feelings, or get distracted, be silly, whatever. Welcome!

My2cents, Brighton is my kind of town! oh, and it was straciatella ie vanilla with lots of choc lumps swirled around.

alisonjane · 25/05/2007 15:31

thanks Sputnik
i think im just getting worried because it has seemed like the day would never come and know it is too close!!! The Doctor at the hospital has scared me a bit telling me the risks of the operation and actually said to me if i have a caesarian it is likely my next baby will be still born

trendaverter · 25/05/2007 15:44

Alisonjane, how on earth did he come to that conclusion?!
Crystal ball?!?

justbeme · 25/05/2007 15:57

Congratulations to Likel!!!!!!
Been thinking about you all day!!

Just been to get some Pregaday from Chemist as Im abit low in Iron.

alisonjane · 25/05/2007 16:07

Trendaverter,
I dont know he was so horrible - making me feel like having a caesarian was the wrong decision to make. I left the hospital feeling scared to death and really frightened

trace2 · 25/05/2007 16:09

doggus, so sorry about your mum, thinking of you!

Congratulations to Likel

hollyandalice · 25/05/2007 16:12

Yes sputnik he does sleep with the computer!! I'm at my parents' coz the washing machine man was coming and my brother is a slacker and won't get up before 2!

Alisonjane, I'll add you to the stats thread now. Your dr sounds like an ARSE!! What a horrible thing to say. I'm sure you could report him for saying something like that! Have you told your mw what he said?

trendaverter · 25/05/2007 16:12

Well it sounds like he's full of shit, I have never heard anything like that before.

Can you talk to a different doctor/MW to get the real lowdown?

hollyandalice · 25/05/2007 16:19

ANYONE NEED A TEXT BUDDY?? I have an odd number again! Does anyone want to be paired up with someone to text/be texted by when there is any news/new babies??!! If you need a text buddy email me at my MN name at hotmail.co.uk with your mobile number and I'll pair you up xxx

annobal · 25/05/2007 16:53

Congratulations Lilkel. I love the names and looking forward to the low-down...

Sputnik, the icecream sounded so nice I went and got the cookies and cream out of the freezer but it was frozen solid so had to put it back (as there was no way I was sharing with Tom and George).

AlisonJane - I've never heard that before either - is there anyone else you can see?

Has anyone heard from Seansgirl? I haven't had any texts from her and haven't seen her on here for a while (but then my brain has turned to mush...)

riabutterflew · 25/05/2007 16:59

doggus, thinking of you, hoping things go as smoothly as they can and that you are being taken care of. Lots of love. x

riabutterflew · 25/05/2007 17:01

alisonjane, your doctor sounds like a wanker. I'm sure that would be a more widely known myth if it was real. Do they train doctors anymore or just send them away with a book?

Where's derlor? Do you think she's on the birthing bandwagon?

Congratulations to lilkel and family. Lovely name too.

riabutterflew · 25/05/2007 17:05

I must tell you this before I forget. DH & I were POSL.

Last night when I was in the pre-labour assessment ward thingy there was a young couple in the bay opposite (I hope they were young, otherwise it just makes it funnier - curtains drawn anyway). Anyway, the MW came in and did an internal to check on dilation. The poor girl was 2cms and whimpering (I went off the idea for a short while!) but her DP said "so can you get your whole hand right up there now?" to the MW. Honestly. Maybe you had to be there. Bet he won't be much use later on.
Hope they didn't hear us laughing

annobal · 25/05/2007 17:16

LOL Ria - that's very funny. I think I almost broke MW's fingers with DS2 on several occassions - serves her right, she was awful (gave me an episiotomy without anaesthetic AND stitches without anaesthetic).

trendaverter · 25/05/2007 17:19

you guys sure know how to make the next in line feel better

annobal · 25/05/2007 17:21

Sorry TA - think baby smell and teeny tiny fingers and toes...

trendaverter · 25/05/2007 17:24

lol

Can we save the horror stories for the post natal chat?!

Anything with whimpering/no anaesthetic/tearing in the subject please

DaisysGotABigBump · 25/05/2007 17:49

third time lucky...my farking computere keeps on crashing

Doggus, i got your e-mail thanks. So very sorry to hear about your mum, but it's a blessing that she died peacefully. thinking of you and your family at this time

Lilkel....BIG BIG CONGRATULATIONS
glad it all went well and hope that you and baby Sienna are doing well. Lovely name and here's to a speedy recovery. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Mytwocents.....your ankles were last seen dancing down the street with mine I think . i had to go and buy some new shoes today as I couldn't get my swollen appendages into any of my shoes

Alisonjane...welcome to the thread . I'm booked in for an elective on 5th June, but I've had an emergency before so I kind of know what to expect.....it'll be a lot more calm and relaxed for me this time though as I won't be needing to be held down by five adults in order to administer the spinal like I was last time due to contractions every minute or so!! Can't believe your consultant ...I've never heard anything like it before. this site has some good information, but maybe stay away from the photos. Hopefully your baby will turn and there'll be no need for a section anyway!

Had a lovely day with DS and DH...but walked about quite a bit and my poor poor ankle. Drinking loads of water though which seems to be helping.

Phew...
