thanks all i know most are in same postion as me! and yes my house is dirty which for us ladys i think gets us down alone.

my dh is trying ti surport me he just can not think of baby having any thing wrong its his way of copping i think he goes all quiet and him to his self, if he didnt i think he could have a brake down, hes not that strong that way.

DaisysGotABigBump · 25/05/2007 09:23

Trace....nice to hear from you again, but to hear that you're feeling so low. I've just been put on anti-depressants so can appreciate a bit of how you must be feeling. Your worries make me feel a bit pathetic by comparison.

I hope your DH can offer you a bit more support, but I suppose people react in different ways and men are notoriously bad about showing their feelings. As I've said before, if there's anything I can do, give me a shout...you've got my e-mail.

One of the doulas on here sent me some information on vaginal births after c-sections. If you e-mail me I can forward it on for you if you want.

muminfife...that's pooey about the midwives. I suppose they're just covering their own backs foma legal/malpractice standpoint and thy have to draw a boundary somewhere, however you would think it would be done on an individual basis...ie if your bub is well and appears to be a good sixe, then surely there can be a bit of leeway on the cut-off date. Fingers crossed you hang on until the magical number of 37 weeks, as I certainly wouldn't want to make that journey from St Andrews to Kirkcaldy in labour [big fat ouch emoticon]

thanks daisy i will e mail you, the consluant tried to give me tazampan yesterday to help me sleep for a few nights but the hospital policy is i could not have them,

DaisysGotABigBump · 25/05/2007 09:42

Aaargh...it must be a busy day for babies in Leeds.

Trying to get through to the MWs as my ankles are still puffy from yesterday (looked like ballons last night)....BP is 145/85 ish......seeing the wee floaty things again......and my fingers, although not looking too bad, are feeling very puffy and odd to type with.

And I can't get through to anyone......they're not exactly helping to lower my BP now are they?????

Just been PMSL at the NM piss take, but not feeling compos mentos enough to add anything...liked yours though Bumper and TA.

It will get us in trouble, its just knowing when....

Lilkel may be under the knife as we chat....good luck girlie!

Daisy I would suggest getting thy arse off the PC and putting feet up and watching some crappy tv... chances are nothing is wrong but you really should elevate those feet and get some rest!

DaisysGotABigBump · 25/05/2007 09:55

Spoke to a MW...was told that this BP is perfectly normal...that puffy ankles and fingers are to be expected...and to stop taking my own BP as its counter-productive.

When I said that the puffiness hasn't gone down after eight hours in bed, she just snorted at me and asked why it should...cow witch. I didn't even get the chance to tell her about the visual disturbances....as she pretty much hung up on me!

Foxy...I need you to come and poke her in the eye for me.

It's their fucking literature that tells you to phone about any of these symptoms...maybe they should be putting stuff out saying if you have collapsed into a pre-eclamptic coma and are having convulsions please call 01234 567890.....

daisy hope your ok! with bp and swelling, i can never get hold of mw if i need to either lol

bumperlicious · 25/05/2007 10:04

Effing midwives Daisy! If it doesn't get better after resting for a while I'd call NHS direct, not that I find them much more help either...

DaisysGotABigBump · 25/05/2007 10:10

I'll try my own MW later...that was the hospital day-care unit that I spoke to....meanwhile off to sit with my feet up.

riabutterflew · 25/05/2007 11:06

Can you just ring the labour ward daisy? I didn't have any swelling and I got to actually see a student MW, a proper midwife and 2 doctors last night. Obviously your hospital don't feel like they need to cover their own backs! What about your GP? You shouldn't have to worry on your own.

riabutterflew · 25/05/2007 11:14

I am BORED. Waiting for MW to call to check me over and don't feel I should start washing the kitchen window til she's been as she might notice!

sputnik · 25/05/2007 11:22

Morning all, what a nice helpful midwife you got to talk to there Daisy.

Trace, sorry to hear you've been having a hard time, but it sounds like your baby is doing well and you're nearly there, hang on in!

Hope Lilkel is having her section and not sitting around starving.

That netmums thread is possibly the funniest ever on here

trendaverter · 25/05/2007 11:33

I think I just nested

Despite feeling like warmed up shite from tonsilitis, I just washed kitchen walls, cupboards, did 2 loads of washing, dusted, hoovered floor (and ceiling) and bleached sink. I would have cleaned the bathroom only I think I am going to pass out now

DaisysGotABigBump · 25/05/2007 11:35

Can't get through to my own MW, but I've been laid on the sofa with my feet higher then my head and it's gone down a bit. My hands feel odd though...like the feeling you get when doing long distance hikes with a rucsac on for hours......except no hiking going on here

DH said to rest up as much as possible over the weekend and he'll do DS fatigue.....he can be such a star when he sets his mind to it.

anyway, off for a shower and then we're off to TGI Friday's for DS birthday lunch....he want to go somewhere they do fajitas...his latest obsession!!

OP posts:
sputnik · 25/05/2007 11:36

I can't believe there's anything left that needs cleaning at your house Ria
Mine is a tip, I'm past caring. Have just washed the baby clothes to put in my hospital bag though [major achievement emoticon]

sputnik · 25/05/2007 11:42

You washed the walls! Steady on TA

trendaverter · 25/05/2007 11:44

oil spatters on the walls...

it suddenly became very important to remove them, in addition to washing all the window sills and removing cobwebs from behind the fridge.

I was pretty impressed actually, managed to do the lot in 2 hours!!

DH is going to be pissed off though, he told me this morning to do NOTHING except rest, he will do it all, and of course I am grateful and he is lovely, but there's no denying he's just a bit crap at it.

bumperlicious · 25/05/2007 12:15

There is a shop about 5 minutes walk from here (ok 10 pg minutes walk) that sells the most delicious tiffin and I am majorly craving some. Several things are stopping me:

  1. I'm not dressed, and leaving the house will involve having to get dressed
  2. I don't have any money and I don't think the cash machine will let me get any out until next Thursday! (Hmm, I'm sure DH will have left a pound somewhere though)
  3. It would involve walking, which even for 5 minutes seems to put me out for the rest of the day - and all I have acomplished today is putting a load of washing on.
  4. It's raining

Ouch, have bad period type pains.

Do I want tiffin enough to go out and get some?

Sorry, I am feeling very random today!

sputnik · 25/05/2007 12:17

I have a bag of pearl barley in the cupboard, do you think if I poured it into an old pillowcase that would work? Off to experiment....
