Hi everyone, just got a bfp this morning after over a year of trying, so excited whilst trying to keep calm as I recently had a mc. This will be my second baby, would love to chat to others who have just found out too!! Xxx

Hi ladies, may I join the group? Just found out today that I'm pregnant, having had IVF so I think that means the due date is mid/late Feb. I have a three and a half year old daughter, and am a solo parent by choice. Not sure the news has quite sunk in yet, even though it has taken meticulous planning! Can't remember anything from last time! xx

furandchandeliers · 10/06/2018 00:31

@MrsY87 my first three children from my first marriage were born with a 15 month then a 10 month gap! I just got in with it, you have to I guess, and as they've got older I'm really glad I did it that way, they are so close Smile

MrsY87 · 10/06/2018 09:05

@furandchandeliers thanks for the reassurance...think I was just having a panic as DD was being really hard work and DS has had a crap night! I'm sure I'll be fine! I'm lucky I've got family close by to help me too!

Anyone else not have sore boobs? Mine feel totally normal and now I'm worrying that it's a sign things aren't progressing right. Ahhh I find early pregnancy such an anxious time!

MakeLemonade · 10/06/2018 09:23

Hello all!

I got my BFP this morning, cd 27. I think this means I’m due around 19/2.

I’m 31 and all being well this will be baby #3 - we have a 10yo and 2yo.

This waiting bit until a scan always feels sooo long.

Picklesandpies · 10/06/2018 14:10

Hi to all the newcomers

@MakeLemonade This will be no 3 for me too. I'm 34 and have a 10 and an 7 year old. What do you think your 10 year old will make of it when you tell them? I'm a bit worried mine will feel they have had their nose pushed out of joint a bit. Hopefully the reaction will be positive though! Had a mc at 7.5 weeks before so trying not to get ahead of myself.

Does anyone know anywhere good near Guildford to get an early scan and the Panorama test?

Picklesandpies · 10/06/2018 14:50

@MrsY87 I don't have sore boobs yet. Mine are quite small though so don't know whether that has any bearing??

hayleyfx · 10/06/2018 15:53

Welcome to everyone who has joined recently. Massive congrats and fingers crossed for lots of healthy and happy pregnancies.

Anybody else really struggling with tiredness right now? I just want to sleep 24/7. That’s me just woken up from an hour long nap. My second today 🙈 going out for dinner with my OH tonight so better waken myself up a bit!

sleighride5 · 10/06/2018 16:04

@hayleyfx barely able to keepy eyes open...it's lovely outside and my comfy bed is calling to me.

MakeLemonade · 10/06/2018 18:18

Picklesandpies - I think my 10yo will be fine actually, she already had her nose put out of join when her sister arrived a couple of years ago so I think she’ll be cool. I hope yours are too!

I’ve had early scans in previous pregnancies and ended up going in London near my office but a friend recommended Surrey Park Clinic which is in Guildford. I’m Surrey but the London side so as easy for me to go either way!

MrsY87 · 10/06/2018 19:26

@Picklesandpies I have small boobs too & only stopped bf 3m ago so wonder if that makes any difference!

I'm also in Surrey...sounds like a few of us are! I've just been to babybond clinic for early scans before, there are quite a few locally.

@hayleyfx I'm exhausted, can hardly keep my eyes open!

Picklesandpies · 10/06/2018 19:52

@MakeLemonade ah yes, your daughter will remember from the last time (and no doubt she loves being a big sister!) Thanks for suggesting Surrey Park Clinic. Had a fairly bad experience where I went before (it was a mmc and I was having to watch people chatting happily about their scan and there was a totally insensitive receptionist) so keen to go somewhere better this time.

@MrsY87 I'll look into Babybond. I'm keen to go somewhere where I can have scan and blood test in the same place if possible.

Wonder whether someone will be along soon to tell us they have small boobs and they are agony?! Curious to know whether there is a correlation there now!

Waves of nausea starting for me I think but ok if I'm always full. I've eaten more than my husband for dinner so should be ok this evening!

lanalawr · 10/06/2018 20:13

Sorry to disappoint @Picklesandpies but small boobs and no pain here. Wink Maybe someone better endowed will be along soon.

hayleyfx · 10/06/2018 20:31

@sleighride5 @MrsY87 I know, feel like I haven’t slept in a week! 🙈

@Picklesandpies @lanalawr I have small boobs too and they’re not sore - my nipples are so sensitive but actual boobs are fine. Strange haha!

5Makes9 · 10/06/2018 20:33

No signs or symptoms here either except a bit of tiredness.

Definitely anxious about telling my older two as I know they're not too keen on another sibling (this one wasn't planned). They get on so well with my younger too so hopefully it'll go okay.

Picklesandpies · 10/06/2018 20:55

@hayleyfx my nipples even feel fine! It's funny because I had sore boobs with my last pregnancy in April (mc) but no nausea at all and this time no sore boobs but nausea - goes to show every one really is different.

@5Makes9 How old are you children now? I think our youngest will be THRILLED and I'm not sure about oldest. Definitely anxious about that!

Koalatom1 · 10/06/2018 21:13

I’m Surrey too! My PIL live in Guildford and I grew up in Woking. Now live in Camberley.

Surrey Park Clinic was really outdated when we went. It was very clinical and they’re just there to make money...there’s meant to be a good place in Leatherhead but I can’t think f the name.

So I had a scan on Friday and I’m now 6+1 today (Sunday). When am I due?!! I don’t know how to work it out!

Bee4S · 10/06/2018 21:29

Hello All, may I please join? Had my BFP on Wednesday just gone and will be 6 weeks tomorrow. EDD is 11th Feb. Have my first midwife appointment 2 weeks tomorrow. This is #1 for me and DH so not sure what to expect... Only symptoms so far have been bloating and stabby boob/nipple pain but after 9 months of trying I'll take it 😂

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 10/06/2018 21:40

@Koalatom1 I'm 5+5 and due 5th Feb so I reckon you're due 2nd Feb??

Picklesandpies · 10/06/2018 21:46

Interesting feedback on Surrey Park Clinic, thanks @Koalatom1. That doesn't sound great. So hard to know until you are there!

I'm actually in Hampshire but only half an hour south of Guildford and it's easy to get to, hence asking for recommendations in that area. Nothing where we are!

If you go on the NHS website, they have a due date calculator - you can put in first day of last period on there and it will tell you EDD. Otherwise I think the apps allow you to adjust where you are in your pregnancy if you've had a scan so you could try that and get your EDD that way. Or just count forwards 34 weeks Grin (I'd be worried I'd get that wrong though!)

Picklesandpies · 10/06/2018 21:48

Hi @Bee4S

Congratulations Smile You must have been very disciplined (unlike me£ on the testing if you had BFP Wednesday and you are 6 weeks already!

jeanzbeanz · 10/06/2018 22:54

Anyone else got a horrid taste/sensation in their mouth? I feel quite dehydrated and my mouth feels furry like I haven't brushed my teeth for weeks!

jeanzbeanz · 10/06/2018 22:54

Could be because of my hayfever.

MrsY87 · 11/06/2018 04:38

@jeanzbeanz I have a really dry mouth and unquenchable thirst, I've had it every time I've been pregnant....it's horrible!

Squishandasquash · 11/06/2018 07:34

@jeanzbeanz a weird metallic taste was my first sign will all 3 pregnancies - it was how I knew to test this time! I found last time it disappeared at 6/7 weeks. I'm just so bloody tired!

MakeLemonade · 11/06/2018 08:13

Ooh would be interested to hear about that Leatherhead clinic, I went to Fetal Medicine Centre last time and they were good but very transactional.
