Ps. I know it's v early days but is there anyone else who will be insisting on an ELCS? I'm self referring at 6 weeks and gearing myself up for the discussion!

jeanzbeanz · 17/06/2018 22:12

@emoji thanks for doing the list!

I am not interested in a FB group personally 😊 never had an account. But quite happy for others to have one and I'll hopefully still have a few people to chat to on here!!

welshweasel · 17/06/2018 22:33

@emoji my EDD is 6th Feb! I’d be interested in a Fb group too.

furandchandeliers · 17/06/2018 22:35

@emoji my edd is 1st feb

Bluebeee · 17/06/2018 22:41

Sorry about your late loss @emoji. I'm thinking the same as you in terms of this pregnancy is so different so far to my daughter that I'm thinking (and possibly hoping) a boy.
I would definitely like a fb group. I'm in Sept 2016 and it has been so so useful. I'm a better mum because of those ladies.

smellsofelderberries · 18/06/2018 03:37

@emoji I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. That must have been so devastating.

@Since2016 I'm fairly certain I will be having an ELCS with this one as, even though I had a v easy water birth with my DD I have been left with v bad pelvic floor damage and ended up with severe PND because of it. I feel like an ELCS is the right way forward for us, I've started having nightmares about being in labour again Sad

OpenThatTrapDoor · 18/06/2018 05:59

@Since2016 Pretty sure I’ll be having an ELCS this time round. Had a crash c section last time and with my other health issues I suspect it’ll be highly recommended. Have my first antenatal clinic appointment later this week. (I have to go at least fortnightly throughout)

RE Facebook: I would probably join a little further down the line, but hope some of the chat stays on here too!

MrsY87 · 18/06/2018 06:14

@emoji I took another test yesterday as I don't really feel pregnant either and the positive line was darker than the control line, it's a good feeling isn't it!?

Since2016 · 18/06/2018 06:54

@MrsY87 I took a CB today - I'd only done a cheap one on Saturday and was freaking out it was too pale. Got a very decent positive - not quite darker than control line yet though but my period was only due on Saturday! Feeling much better now though!

@OpenThatTrapDoor @smellsofelderberries good to know there are others. I laboured for 3 days with DD before two failed inductions, she went into distress and then an EMCS - she then spent a week in NICU as she wasn't breathing. It was utterly horrendous - I said from the get go I wouldn't attempt natural again. I didn't progress at all and I won't put myself through it. Hoping they respect that and I don't have to get nasty.... same hospital though so should be fine?

smellsofelderberries · 18/06/2018 07:07

@Since2016 oof, that sounds terrible. I would imagine with having already had a section it's well within your rights to not attempt a VBAC? Particularly if you were failure to progress last time around. I am fortunate that I was in contact with my Hospital for over a year after my daughter was born so it's stamped all over my notes from last time that I'm to be offered a section if I request. Fingers crossed they don't change their tune when I go back, but I got to know several of the staff v well and they're all v supportive.

MrsY87 · 18/06/2018 07:30

@Since2016 I had a CS with my 1st as she was breach and for my pregnancy with DS they offered me an appointment with the birth options clinic to discuss VBAC v CS. I chose a VBAC as the circumstances regarding my CS were very different to yours but I definitely felt like it was my choice. A few other women on my Sept 17 thread had ELCS after EMCS first time and I don't believe anyone had to fight for it and their wishes were respected. I hope it's the same for you.

Since2016 · 18/06/2018 07:47

Thanks @MrsY87 @smellsofelderberries my daughter has been under a consultant for various health issues since she was born at the same hospital so I'm familiar with it which helps. I really hope they're supportive. It feels almost silly to be worrying about this now as I've literally just found out!

Your experience sounds positive - I do think Trusts are coming round to the idea of choice. I recovered really really well and the actual CS was v 'pleasant' just the before and after! Having done some googling the hospital I will refer to promotes natural cs where possible so this is a positive.

Currently on a train. Have been feeling
sick / hungry for the last few days continuously. This didn't kick in till 8 weeks last time! Envy

emalady · 18/06/2018 10:22

@emoji my EDD is 5th Feb

Cant remember who it was who was talking about antiemetics and worried about risks, have you seen the "bumps" website? They have info and leaflets on the safety of medication in pregnancy and the evidence which can be quite helpful with decision making.

@Since2016 I was gutted to see you said your sickness didnt kick in until 8 weeks last time. I'm constantly tired and nauseous but not vomiting and have been trying to convince myself that as I'm 6+5 this is as bad as it going to get. Not as sure about this now.

jeanzbeanz · 18/06/2018 10:26

I googled "how long does morning sickness last" and wished I hadn't - apparently it peaks at 9 weeks.

!!

Nuglife · 18/06/2018 10:54

EDD 22nd Feb! Xxx

Nuglife · 18/06/2018 10:55

@jeanzbeanz Noooooooo!!!!!!

Nuglife · 18/06/2018 11:00

@emoji thanks so much for the list! X

Since2016 · 18/06/2018 11:07

@Nuglife @emalady ah yeah sorry girls. Mine was bad until around 13 weeks last time and then had a resurge again in the second trimester. I'll be honest - summer and first trimester is a bit grim. Not so sick today just v hungry!

So not looking forward to doing the tube in the summer again potentially v unwell 😩

Nuglife · 18/06/2018 11:28

@Since2016 oooft poor you! I'd better stock up on dry biscuits at my desk then lol! Luckily it's a bit chillier where I'm based - hoping it stays that way! Can't imagine the tube is pleasant-so many terrible smells Hmm xx

Picklesandpies · 18/06/2018 15:27

@emalady it was me asking about medication for morning sickness. Thanks - I'll look at that website. I'm not being sick but I just feel so yucky most of the time. I'll occasionally have a couple of hours when I don't feel quite so bad but that's it and not every day. Seems quite random and gets bad at different times.

I have a scan on 1st July. I've moved it forward a few days to coincide with a weekend away in London - I'm actually dreading it now. Worried I'll feel sick in the theatre and won't be able to get out quickly. Also dreading train journey. I'll be 8+5 so hope it's good news at the scan. Also worrying that if it isn't good news I'll have to come back on the train... 😬

Koalatom1 · 18/06/2018 17:24

Ohhhhh so I need to select at least one fb friend. Could someone pm me and I can set up the group & slowly add people?

Appreciate it’s still early & I may not even last lol but gotta have hope 🤣

Re sickness - mine is getting worse at 7 weeks. Think it eased about 13 weeks with my boys.

Someone asked about gender...I’d love a girl!!! Always have. Pretty sure it’ll be boy #3 though 😆

Lookingforadvice123 · 18/06/2018 17:47

Hi all, can I join? Haven’t read the full thread yet, will catch up.

Got my BFP this morning, baby no2! DS is 2.5. My EDD is 26th Feb.

Since2016 · 18/06/2018 18:04

Welcome @Lookingforadvice123 I got mine on Saturday! Also #2 with a 2.5 DD!

Lulabell1 · 18/06/2018 20:27

Welcome all newbies.
My bug has gone and I'm feeling fine I don't have morning sickness yet hoping I don't get it as I had it very bad with DD and this time around I'm standing on a salon floor for 9 hours a day so don't have a clue what I will do if I get it.

Just realised a big issue I go away on the 18th July to Dominican Republic for 16 days and I forgot about the whole zika virus going to call doctors tomorrow try get my booking appointment and talk to them about it!

SpringfieldMummy · 18/06/2018 21:05

Hi ladies! Room for 1 more?

Got my BFP on Friday on 4th cycle of trying. EDD 19 feb. I don't get BFPs until a few days after AF is due and the waiting is a killer. Keeping my fingers crossed for a sticky one, had a miscarriage at 9 weeks on my first pregnancy.

I have an 18 month old daughter so there'll be 26 month age gap
