@Picklesandpies hope the sickness isn’t too bad for you this time either!

Picklesandpies · 17/06/2018 00:47

Is anyone considering meds for morning sickness. I am feeling so, so sick at the moment. I've only been sick once though so there is no relief from it. Finding this bit really hard to deal with. Feel as though I've gone to the fun fair with a hangover. Grim.

Bluebeee · 17/06/2018 01:47

Hi all and congratulations.

I had a bfp earlier today. EDD is 10th Feb. I was so certain that I wasn't pregnant (with dd1 I knew from 2 weeks) that I did a test at a pub while out for my friends birthday. I took a tampon too but thought I better make sure as I thought I was 2 days late. Only had implant removed end of May so no regular period to be concerned about. I passed the test to my friend under the cubicle and when she came out she proper Pheobe'd me and said it was negative. So happy I haven't had any other symptoms yet so I've got less time to wait now keeping it a secret before the scan.

MrsY87 · 17/06/2018 06:19

@Picklesandpies I got meds last time as I felt terrible, not being sick just so so nauseous and they really helped take the edge off it. Go and see your GP on Monday and don't let them fob you off! I've not felt too bad yet but if I feel like I did last time I will def see my GP

Nuglife · 17/06/2018 09:01

Hi all and congratulations!
I got my BFP last week... DH couldn't believe it until I came in with 3 more tests! Very excited but nervous to as previous MC.... Fingers crossed for this little one! xx

jeanzbeanz · 17/06/2018 10:19

@MrsY87 this is interesting, do you remember what you were prescribed?

Picklesandpies · 17/06/2018 10:27

Congratulations @Nuglife and @Bluebeee

@MrsY87 Thanks, I will go to GP if it stays like this or gets worse. I'm finding it so hard to function normally when it strikes - if I didn't have dc already then it would be different but it's difficult to do both! I suppose I worry about side effects or effects to baby. It must be safe though.

MrsY87 · 17/06/2018 10:37

@jeanzbeanz I think it was cyclizine (sp?)

@Picklesandpies I know the feeling, I was really struggling with DD and work last time, I felt like I was on a boat most of the time. You have my sympathies

Picklesandpies · 17/06/2018 10:41

That's how I feel @MrsY87. Permanently travel sick. Hope you don't get it as badly this time around. I take my hat off to people who have to go to work and feel like this. Looking at a computer screen all day... bleurgh Confused

smellsofelderberries · 17/06/2018 11:17

@Koalatom1 I would love to do a Facebook group further down the line! I have one from my November 2016 group and we all still talk daily.

@Picklesandpies yes, travel sick is a good way of explaining it.

Just sent off my self referral for my Hospital and am booking in my 12 and 20 weeks scans tomorrow! Had a quick look at the second seat for our Bugaboo today just to see how much they are. Found it on sale and then had to kick myself for even considering putting it on hold. I find this stage so hard!

sleighride5 · 17/06/2018 15:13

Hi everyone, so happy to see all the early scans popping up, we've decided to wait till the 12 wk one but the suspense is killing me.

Anyone else who hasn't got any morning sickness yet? I'm 6+2 by my calculations (nurses put me a bit further forward). Been feeling neauseas on and off most days but it hasn't fully kicked in yet. Don't know whether to be fully thankful or a teeny bit concerned.

Koalatom1 · 17/06/2018 15:46

@smellsofelderberries I’m in the Oct 16 mumsnet group so close. Think there’s a few people in both groups on fb.

It was so hot at the beach today. Really struggling with the heat and sickness! Looking forward to coming back home..although a welcome break from work!

Koalatom1 · 17/06/2018 15:48

@picklesandpie we are very close to fornells! Rented a villa. Really recommend Castillo Menorca for a day out at a relaxed quiet water park with lots of free activities.

Son bou is a lovely beach and totally will recommend mroenplaces if you want!

I’m happy to wait to set it up. My fb group is such a lovely bunch and I’ve become RL friends with a few that lived locally. It’s amazing!

Picklesandpies · 17/06/2018 16:36

@Koalatom1 Sounds lovely! You are the opposite side of the island then to where we will be staying but we are hoping to travel around and see as much as we can. Thanks for the recommendations! I am praying I don't feel sick by the time we go. I struggled here in the heat the other day so not sure I'd do well with it over there!

Facebook group sounds like a good idea to me - it would be great to meet some other new mums in real life too Smile

MrsY87 · 17/06/2018 19:01

Def kern for a fb group too, I have a brilliant one from DS. I've also made some RL friends from it. Although I might wait another couple of weeks before joining.

Since2016 · 17/06/2018 19:24

Hello! So I got a (v faint which is still freaking me out) bfp yesterday. 2nd cycle clomid #2. Have been trying since Dec 16 so v nervous. As I know exactly when I ovulated (I temp) it's approx 4 weeks, due around 23 of feb. Hoping it's just late implantation - tested day AF due! DD is 2 1/2. Did the mumsnet group first time round too!

Since2016 · 17/06/2018 19:24

Re Facebook - I don't do Facebook anymore so not that keen but happy to continue to post here.

MrsY87 · 17/06/2018 20:21

Just booked an early scan, not for another 10 days and should be 7w or around about that so hopefully we'll be able to see a heartbeat. 🤞🤞🤞 10 days feels a long time at the moment though! Anyone else feel like time goes so so slowly in the 1st trimester?!

Bee4S · 17/06/2018 20:38

@MrsY87 Every week feels like 2 at the moment and I'm only waiting for my first midwife appointment! Blush I can't even imagine waiting for the scan after that, I'm trying to take it one day at a time but I just want to be clear of 12 weeks and able to see our little one already 😂

LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/06/2018 20:51

@MrsY87 Mines a week tomorrow. I'm dreading it though after my mmc last year. I keep reading stuff that freaks me out too which isn't helping!!

@Since2016. I did clomid too. It was my first cycle of 50mg. I'm a bit chunky so I thought it wouldn't work. I ovulated on cd21. Have you got PCOS?

hayleyfx · 17/06/2018 21:04

@MrsY87 your scan is really soon, exciting!

@LookingAtTheStars89 my scan is on Tuesday and I feel the same as you. Also had a missed MC last year and I’m terrified, just feel convinced it’s going to happen again. I hope we both get good news this time 🤞

@Koalatom1 definitely keen for an FB group. Just like @Since2016 (welcome by the way!), I don't "do" Facebook these days and only keep it active because of the lovely ladies from DDs birth group Dec17/Jan18.

@Picklesandpies and @jeanzbeanz I was prescribed Buccastem. I was so sick with DD that I couldn't take pills (because I'd throw it right back up) so had to have this stuff which sits under the gums but heard great things about cyclizine that @MrsY87 mentions.

I've taken another test and the control line is now darker than the test line which is a relief as I was panicking I wasn't feeling pregnant and gearing myself up for mc!!

So any of us have a clue what we think we're having? I have a feeling I'm pregnant with a boy. By this time in my pregnancy with DD I had my head down the loo vomiting up my guts but when I was pregnant with my son (who we lost late in the pregnancy a few years ago) I didn't feel pregnant till about 11 weeks and was sick everyday thereafter.

Since2016 · 17/06/2018 21:55

@LookingAtTheStars89 yes - although didn't have a problem first time round! Came off mirena, conceived DD 2nd cycle! Pure luck.

I'm also considering an early scan. Had a lot of extra monitoring last time so I'll be consultant led for def and would like the reassurance but probably not till 10 weeks or so.

Since2016 · 17/06/2018 21:59

Thanks @emoji - I debated whether to do this again! I'm not part of my daughters birth group anymore but it was a lovely support at the beginning
