Wow loads of us now! Great scan news ladies getting very real now.
My nausea hasn't reared it's head today so I've just devoured a Chinese my boobs still kill though
@Picklesandpies you're appetite is so similar to mine! I love fish fingers and mash I find plain foods really good on my queasy days and have a cup of strong tea and and apple in the morning before I get up (mr mermaid is very obliging bless him)
Desperately trying to hide any signs from ds and dd as ds will be 12 next week he's not silly but is obvs more interested in his mates football and his playstation so might be alright Grin

AKAlucy · 15/06/2018 21:16

Thanks for the list @emoji This nausea and tiredness is terrible! Not what I expected at all. I’d heard my pregnant friends in the past talk about it but had no idea it would be like this. I’ve booked an early private scan on 27th June as can’t face waiting til end of July- very impatient to see if everything is ok!

Lulabell1 · 16/06/2018 04:19

Hi guys late starter here if I'm welcome Smile bit shocked had flu symptoms last 4 days and sickness took a test as I have currently lost my phone and can't track my periods and what do you no it 2 very strong lines! Think I must be about 5ish weeks... I remember being on one of these groups with my first baby as I was very young when I had her and the support I got was amazing! This will be baby 2 and I am now 24

smellsofelderberries · 16/06/2018 04:40

Thanks so much for the list emoji! There is quite a few of us already!

Nausea not too bad today for me but also been lazing around while DH does the brunt of toddler wrangling. Felt shocking on Thursday but DD were solo on a 1.5 hour flight and I was absolutely shattered by the time we arrived home. Pretty sure my EDD (fun fact, they call it an EDC- estimated date of confinement where I am, which always sounds so victorian to me!) is the 14th of Feb.

List of food I'm quite happy to eat currently;
Fish finger sandwiches
Porridge (with lots of chia seeds, helping keep those first trimester digestive slow downs under control)
Pasta
Pringles
Crisps
Chips
Basically on the white food diet! I want to try and no put on as much weight as I did with my daughter though so trying to get some fruit and veggies in there too.

Lulabell1 · 16/06/2018 04:51

Also can see a lot of you are in Surrey how strange I am in Epsom boarder line Ashtead!

Lulabell1 · 16/06/2018 04:58

[smells of elderberries] I found sugary tea as hot as u can handle and also sucking on mints helped me with DD. Also if you have a blender make up a smoothie with fruit sometimes it's easier to drink liquid than eating a meal but still getting some goodness in u can add veggies too.

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 06:52

@imreallyamermaid how funny - we are food twins! I felt better yesterday and ate so much . 4 fish fingers and mash by 10.30 and a chilli con carne followed by rice crispies later on! Odd combination but felt much more with it. @smellsofelderberries I have chia seeds in my porridge too - also makes it less 'milky'.

Is it normal for morning sickness to come and go? I have got up this morning to take my medicine (irritatingly I have to take it half an hour before any food) and I don't feel too bad at all. Trying not to worry that I feel too well!

@emoji thank you so much for doing the list! How kind of you. My EDD is 6th Feb but will probably be more accurate after scan.

@Lulabell1 Maybe we can have a Surrey meet up in the future. I'm not actually Surrey but have a Guildford postcode (confusing!) - half an hour south of there.

smellsofelderberries · 16/06/2018 07:16

Pickles, I’m finding it comes and goes too. Felt fine this morning but feeling v queasy again this afternoon. Annoying as put together a gorgeous lamb ragu on to slow cook when I felt fine and not sure I’ll want to eat it now Sad I remember it coming and going quite a bit in these early stages from last time.
Lula, yes, I just want to drink warm things right now! Particularly chai type teas. Will pick up some mints when we pop out shortly, good idea. How old is your DC?

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 07:46

Thanks @smellsofelderberries I'm glad it's not just me who has symptoms that come and go a bit. Bit anxious after mc in April. I'm nervous for my scan on 26th, especially as we'll be taking the train into London so if it's bad news then it will be an awful journey back. On the plus side I am going to have a look for a sleep bra - my boobs aren't big but they hurt when I wake up in the night. Hopefully that's a good sign Smile

Lulabell1 · 16/06/2018 08:21

@smellsofelderberries DD is 4 turning 5 in December, me and my partner was happy just to have the 1 we both have big families and she has lots of cousins she is close with hence the shock regardless we are very excited it will be different this time as I said I was only 18 last time and I lived at home with my mum will feel like a proper family for us this time in our own home together!
@pickles I don't no if these are pregnancy related but Im just full of the flu, aches, swollen glands, headache and the sweats!

hayleyfx · 16/06/2018 09:37

@Picklesandpies definitely. I panicked a bit yesterday as I managed to eat a light dinner and felt totally fine after for a few hours then I woke up this morning to a vomiting session! Wasn’t pleasant but it reassured me a bit 😊

Koalatom1 · 16/06/2018 11:29

I’ve got a guildford postcode too but I’m Camberley way.
I’m part of a great fb group from an original mumsnet post like this. I’d happily set one up for us all? Only problem is I’m on holiday in Menorca till next Sat (been here a week already!) - what a distraction!! Can’t really add people till then (unless someone else wants to set it up!?)
Think it would be nice to have a similar group 😊

Koalatom1 · 16/06/2018 11:29

The group I’m in is for my DS2 birth group! Should clarify that!

Koalatom1 · 16/06/2018 11:31

@emoji since my scan they’ve moved me to 2 Feb! I think I’ll go with that date, rather than 25th Jan.
Right I’ll stop posting and go find the sun!

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 13:02

@Lulabell1 hope you feel better soon. Doesn't sound nice. My husband is losing his voice and feeling achey too (although that's probably man flu .)

I've been to the shops and now feel as though I've just stepped off the Waltzers...

@hayleyfx thanks for reassurance. I genuinely can't remember how long I was like this for with dd2 and what the pattern was. I know I was such a couple of times so maybe that's all I've have this time.

@Koalatom1 Thanks for offer of setting up a Facebook group. I think that might be nice but not sure how others feel about anonymity? I actually think it would be good to maybe wait a few weeks until we feel more secure in our pregnancies so when you get back from holiday might be a good time. I'm going to Menorca for two weeks in the summer (first proper holiday since we got married nearly 10 years ago!) Where are you staying? We'll be near Binibeca.

Bee4S · 16/06/2018 13:40

@emoji Thanks for making the list!

Seems that a lot of you lovely ladies have had scans around the 6/7 week mark. My first midwife appointment is a week on Monday and I will be 7 weeks exactly but I was not expecting a scan because it's actually being held at my GP surgery. This is my first pregnancy though so not sure of the process. If they don't offer a scan at the first appointment do you just have to wait until 12 weeks?

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 13:44

@Bee4S I think most of the early scans have been private ones or NHS at the early pregnancy unit because of spotting etc It's normally that you don't get a scan until 12 weeks ish.

Bee4S · 16/06/2018 14:27

@pickles Ah, thanks for clearing that up 👍

emalady · 16/06/2018 16:01

@bee4s I'm having a couple of early scans because 1.ivf and 2. I know people with a scanner that will do me an extra scan for free. Occasionally I approve of using contacts!! My first midwife appointment is 2/7 when I will get my 12 week scan date etc. I will be almost 9 weeks by then. Really hoping to get my 12 week scan before wedding season as it would be much easier to explain not drinking than trying to hide it.

@picklesandpies I got my sleep bra in sainsbury, cheap, soft and just enough support to sleep (but still have to hold on using the stairs!).

@emoji thanks for the list, my EDD should be 5th February I think. All very exciting.

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 16:03

No problem @Bee4S There's a lot to suddenly get your head around! I'm on no3 but still struggling to remember some things because it's been 8 years since the last time Grin

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 16:05

@emalady oh thanks - I looked in Marks but didn't see anything that looked very comfortable and of course there was no one to ask!

Bee4S · 16/06/2018 16:22

@emalady That's handy! Good luck with your appointment, fx everything goes well 😉

@pickles There definitely is a lot to take in. My sister went through all this with her DD but they moved to Wiltshire so I don't have anyone around me that's familiar with the process of booking in and what to expect etc. And DH and I are also waiting to tell people which is actually more difficult than I thought it would be 😂

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 16:25

@Bee4S this is my first in this area actually and it's a completely different process from where I used to live.

@emalady you don't know someone in a vets do you? Smile I remember girls scanning each other when I worked in one years ago! Good luck with your next scan x

Picklesandpies · 16/06/2018 16:26

And yes, it's hard to keep quiet. Especially when you'd like to explain why you have the conversational skills of a sloth.
