I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

@MaxBenji I'm feeling you on the eating front, I've put on weight already, I'm taking a big snack bag to work and had so much this morning (after breakfast, -> buttered bread, muffin, peppermints..) bit embarrassing really but seems to be all that works for the nausea! Just do what you have to do!

Big welcome to all new joiners and big hug to all those with morning sickness! It's awful and I'm appalled I wasn't warned that it would be ALL DAY

Soontobemumof4 · 22/05/2018 22:17

Hi.. I'm tentatively joining. Not quite got my head around being pregnant yet. Literally 4-5 weeks and I forgot how wiped out and sick I felt last time. It's all come flooding back! This is baby no. 4 for me and my youngest will be 2 exactly when this one's due.

I'll have a read through the thread and see all your updates

LG93 · 23/05/2018 06:52

Hope you're all well - I went to see my acupuncturist last night - she was so excited for me and spent an hour and a half treating my nausea and exhaustion. I still don't feel brilliant, but I think I'm a bit better than I was.. will see how today goes I suppose!

Ash1992 · 23/05/2018 07:22

@LG93 are you actually vomiting or just feeling nausea . I'm wearing the sea bands and they seem to help

Upsydasiy · 23/05/2018 11:16

I’ve also just started to wear seabands. Had to take time off work the morning sickness is so bad. Started meds so hoping they might help. Tried the trick of eating something before my head is off the pillow in a morning but hasn’t helped. Now realised I’m going to have to tell Work earlier than I planned 😩

stegosauruslady · 23/05/2018 11:17

soontobemumof4 Hi! welcome! I'm expecting baby number four too!

Ash1992 · 23/05/2018 11:21

@upsydaisy how many weeks are you? What med can you take for sickness

Upsydasiy · 23/05/2018 12:25

@ash1992 I think I’m about 6+4 but could be more! Got a private scan this evening so scared!
I got a phone appt with the gp and asked them to prescribe an anti-emetic. Although think I might ask them to add a second one in as I’m not lasting the 8 hours between them at the minute.

Ash1992 · 23/05/2018 12:32

@upsydaisy oh are you actually vomiting

Yummum19 · 23/05/2018 12:38

hi, can i join? Smile

Found out on Sunday I'm expecting baby number 2! DD is 6 so quite a long time since I've been through all this, makes me feel like a FTM all over again.

I have an appointment with the midwife on Friday as I'm not sure how far along I am. My periods aren't regular so I could be anything from 5-8ish weeks. Will this affect anything by having the booking in appointment if I'm only 5 weeks? I know usually you aren't seen till a few weeks later.

Is there anybody on here that isn't having any symptoms whatsoever? Im struggling to get excited because I just don't feel pregnant. I know i shouldn't wish myself to feel bad but at least then I'd have a little bit more reassurance! Sad

Upsydasiy · 23/05/2018 14:08

@ash1992 unfortunately 🤢

Januarybaby19 · 23/05/2018 18:40

@yummum19 I felt like you as I hadn’t had much in the way of symptoms, I sort of couldn’t really believe that I was pregnant and something was actually in there! Today though the sickness has fully kicked in and I was NOT prepared for it, like having a terrible hangover but no end in sight! Other than today I’ve felt normal though, I guess everyone is different? Congratulations on your pregnancy! Flowers

byanyothernamerose · 23/05/2018 18:44

Hi 👋...can I join? 4 weeks so early days but hoping all stays well...

ready4number2 · 23/05/2018 18:59

Hi all, I'm 5+3 today. Got 3+ on a digital this morning so starting to believe this is happening now.

But I'm feeling so ill, not pregnancy related but coming down with a horrid cold or throat infection and can't take anything for it. I'm also exhausted and already in bed. Please let this pass quickly.

Soontobemumof4 · 23/05/2018 19:49

stegosauruslady pleased to see a fellow soon to be 4 min Shock still not sinking in!

I tend to eat low carb and I'm finding my nausea is so much better on low carb days. Maybe because i eat lighter meals?? I'm sure that's going to change, it was awful for the first 20 weeks with my last pregnancy.

sexnotgender · 23/05/2018 20:24

I low carb too, will do my best to keep it up.

Only additional thing I’ve added is berries with my Greek yogurt for breakfast.

Upsydasiy · 23/05/2018 21:41

Had an early private scan today so it’s all starting to feel so real! Seeing our little bean and flickering heartbeat 💗 has made up for how sick I am currently feeling 🤢😍

Babit5485 · 23/05/2018 21:55

@Upsydasiy so glad to hear all went well! I am have booked an early scam for next Thurs when I will be (I think) 6+4 too. Was a bit worried about it being to early too see anything but fingers crossed we get the same outcome as you!

Have a hen do following weekend so wanted to check everything looking ok before starting to tell people!

Sorry to all feeling so rough, it'll all be worth it in the end. Not much comfort now though I know!! Blush

emdoc · 23/05/2018 22:33

Had my dating scan today and things looked good! It was pretty surreal to see the little bean in there with a nice strong heartbeat flickering away! As you said @Upsydasiy it does help make the nausea feel worth it! Sonographer was lovely and let DH come in for a bit and look too.

They’ve bumped up my due date to 2nd Jan from the 4th but said the measurement did were bang on for my dates so I’m not sure how that works!

January 2019!
Upsydasiy · 24/05/2018 08:10

@Babit5485 I thought I was 6+4 but she said 6+6 although I know this could change at the dating scan which I have booked in for 11+4😊

@emdoc how many weeks are you?

I feel horrendous this morning 🤢

stegosauruslady · 24/05/2018 08:17

I have managed to eat some breakfast before I do the school run this morning, so I'm feeling less ill than usual...I might just have to make a habit of getting up five minutes earlier while the nausea lasts!

@emdoc Yay! I'm pleased your scan went well! Its a good picture for this early on too.

Welcome to the new people!

LG93 · 24/05/2018 08:36

Nausea has finally developed into vomiting - was sick in the shower this morning although I'd not eaten so it was mostly just the water I had drunk😷

DH was moody with me earlier because he thinks I'm not eating enough and with the vomiting I'm going to end up really poorly - I think it's completely normal for this stage and that it's nothing special and the doctors wouldn't give me anything anyway... Not sure who's right but I may try and get a phone appointment with gp or ring 111 just to get some advice to reassure him. I know I'm probably making myself worse by not eating but I really can't bring myself to eat dinner, although I'm managing a sandwich at lunch time and picking at dry biscuits/ rice cakes through the day but that's about it

Upsydasiy · 24/05/2018 08:43

I’ve got another gp appt today as the meds while are helping aren’t enough and I’m struggling to function 😩

Frenchiemamax · 24/05/2018 11:32

Sorry to hear of your sickness ladies. No sickness here but absolutely awful nausea which lasts all day. Is anyone else struggling with insomnia? It’s really getting me down, by 8pm I’m exhausted, but by 1am I’m wide awake and there’s just no going back to sleep. Any tips appreciated!

sexnotgender · 24/05/2018 11:46

Mine isn’t that bad Frenchiemamax but I am struggling with sleep.
Also my bladder is just rubbish, already been to the bathroom about 8 times. Might just take my laptop and work in there...
