Lol natty! I had half a bottle of wine the other day, so decongestants would probably get me less flack! My dd used to do the turning the spoon over thing, really annoying!

NattyThomasandEllen · 13/05/2007 10:55

tom is in his cot singing to himself.. aww i could lie here all day and listen to him.
when did ur babies start to talk guys? tom is 13 months and only says mum and dad. is this something i should worry about?

Natty you could make it really thick then give him a fork to eat it!!!!!!!! wouldn't fall off then

NattyThomasandEllen · 13/05/2007 10:56

no need to worry Natty so long as he is able to string 3-4 words together at 2 years old this is considered normal - if he is singing though his speech will follow really soon.

bumperlicious · 13/05/2007 10:58

Morning all. I'm still sat in bed! Though I did manage to crawl out for a bowl of coco pops. Mmm, going to have another soon I think!

Had some friend over to watch Eurovision last nice, which was nice as I am panicking that all our friends will abandon us once LO is born! It's starting to hit me that I am off work for now and worrying about lack of adult conversation. I am happy with my own company to a point but then I start feeling v antisocial and worrying that no-one likes me (old school neuroses coming out there!)

H&A, hope you don't have tonsillitis! And derlor hope you are feeling better!

Natty - WELL DONE on the house! Hoe all goes well monday morning.

Daisy, hope you are feeling better soon, looking forward to our meet-up.

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 10:58

I love that natty, it's so cute, alice sings twinkle, twinkle and hey diddle diddle, it's so funny! Sounds about normal speaking time to me. Alice's first word was dog at about 10 months! Charming! It progresses really quickly, he'll be having conversations with you in no time!

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 11:00

I shall have a bottle of white chilling for the post birth celebrations!!

Morning bumper!! Coco pops sound good! I still haven't had my farking breakfast yet! Bloody dp!

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 11:02

Have had to put clothes over pjs to take DS1 to church group (it was the annoying woman leader today too.)
Want to go back to bed.

Sorry for your throats etc. I have no excuses, just really really bored. I hate Sundays. Lunch at mums will be nice, but then we do lots of sitting around and it makes me tired. I need some "green" therapy, but can't be arsed to drive to anywhere nice to go walking (and don't fancy the beach today).

Suppose DS2 and I should go and get dressed before we collect him...

My rice krispies have given me HB. Bugger.

See you all later - don't be too domestic or I will cry at my own inactivity.

foxybrown · 13/05/2007 11:02

wouldn't worry about it Natty, as soon as they can talk they start asking for things. Continually. Over and over again. until they wear you down, and you give in. As mine are doing right now.

NattyThomasandEllen · 13/05/2007 11:02

at you still being in bed. mmmm coco pops yummy!
cant wait for him to start talking, he gets so annoyed that i dont understand what his grunts means lol. sounds like hes gone back to sleep now... strange child singing himself to sleep...

i think labour would be sssssssssssssssoooooooooooooo much easier if we could sip on wine throughout - you just don't feel pain when drunk do you?? think of the money the NHS would save not giving out drugs/epidurals any more just a bottle of wine and a straw!!!!!!!

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 11:03

Mmmmm, chilled white wine. Good plan Holly, will do same.

Bumper - you've got us!

Bye for now.

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 11:04

Stop it. I need to go away! I was wondering about packing vodka for my labour bag actually (I don't even drink vodka, but thought it might be worth a try.)

derlor · 13/05/2007 11:06

right i'm off to get showered and dressed look at the time - disgraceful i've been up for 3.5 hours and still in my pj's (wags finger at self with a tisk tisk) later......x

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 11:07

I suppose a nice bottle of wine would have the same effect as g&a and is much tastier! Maybe I'll have a nice glass or two after the baby's first feed! If I need stitches I'll have the whole bottle, no pain relief needed, brilliant!

NattyThomasandEllen · 13/05/2007 11:11

i too have much to do, so am off to pop sum paracetomal and get on!
later guys xxx

Was it something I said? Now you are all buggering off? See, I told you people would abandon me

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 11:16

Don't make me feel guilty bumper, it's nothing personal, just have to get dressed and stuff!

Don't be sad

daisybump · 13/05/2007 11:20

i'm here!!!!!

I just logged on to catch up snd everyone is abandoning ship....

daisybump · 13/05/2007 11:20

Pester power is making me go and get him some oatcakes and cheese....

foxybrown · 13/05/2007 11:23

am almost doing something else.

personally gas and air is my drug of choice. During my first labour I was wittering on about "how its like being really, really, really stoned, but then you straighten up really quickly".

Not that I know how that would feel

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 11:27

I told my mum whilst on a g&a trip how much like being stoned it was! She PHSL!

bumperlicious · 13/05/2007 11:30

Just reading this thread . I see you had your say in it too Foxy - can you believe it! I am flabbergasted at the sweeping generalisations about class!

Sorry Ria - you go off and be good and I'll stop sulking!

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 11:38

Yep, I've got tonsilitis! I can taste blood in my mouth which means my poor tonsils are bleeding! Shit!

That thread is odd and has gone off in a really strange tangent! Some people on here really like to twist innocent threads to turn them into arguements!
