@RhiBee29 I hope you're feeling better about it soon. People keep telling me how much they enjoyed being pregnant. All I can see is a huge wall of anxiety.

Actually can I ask you all about vagueness/baby brain? It feels a bit early to be experiencing it (five weeks) but last week I walked out of the office without locking my computer (I work in IT security) or signing myself out of a secure military site, then yesterday I locked my keys in the car. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

RhiBee29 · 27/05/2018 09:33

@Si1ver at 8 weeks I neatly stacked my phone in the dishwasher whilst I was loading dirty dishes, luckily DH found it before I turned it on!

@NimbleKnitter I didn't feel like this at all with DS and really enjoyed my pregnancy but I think I was naive to what can go wrong.

NimbleKnitter · 27/05/2018 10:01

I'm 32 weeks, and I've hated every single second.

Don't think it's about to get any easier!

I've never had baby brain. At least, not noticeably. I used to get fuzzy just before my period, but not had that at all during pregnancy (obvs). Think it depends how you react to the hormones.

I guess that's a positive. Plus my hair is amazing. Unfortunately washing it is getting to be a real drag!

SoozC · 27/05/2018 10:48

At 9 weeks today I'm constantly doubting. I feel sure I'll find out I've had a mmc. Got a private scan booked for Tuesday afternoon and dreading it. Don't know how the next 31 weeks are going to pass without me worrying the whole time.

DoAsDreamersDo · 27/05/2018 11:00

I’ve definitely had baby brain so far. I’m looking forward to telling work colleagues that all my mistakes recently are not because I’ve stopped caring about my work, but related to the little human growing inside me. I’ve got a new staff member who only started last month and I’m sure she thinks her manager is a right ditz!

I was constantly worrying between getting my BFP at around 10 dpo and my first scan (private) at 8w. The anxiety eased slightly after the scan but remained until my dating scan at 13+3. After that I relaxed more and allowed myself to buy a rug for the nursery that was in the sale (a rainbow one!) And my changing bag. Until the anomaly scan at 20w I worried about the baby having a major heart defect. Once we had the scans and results back from the bloods for risk of downs/Edwards/patus I was much more chilled and started getting a few bits and pieces for the nursery and for baby. My next major source of worry was the GTT and whether I'd be diagnosed with gestational diabetes as I have several risk factors but 26w came and went and the test was negative.
I guess what I'm saying is that although yes there is always something to be worrying about, especially for those of us who have experiences baby loss before, it doesn't have to be a constant dark cloud over your pregnancy.

Thanks @Milknosugar1 I think I felt a prod last night after eating an ice lolly so feeling a bit better. I'm going on a hen weekend this Friday and i really don't want to go, the last Hen I went on I had a mc.

Si1ver · 29/05/2018 08:05

@RhiBee29 that sounds hideous. Can you get out of it?

Hi @Milknosugar1. You're all making me feel better about my baby brain.

RhiBee29 · 29/05/2018 08:13

@Si1ver I've reduced it to 1 night instead of 2, just doing a spa day, then a meal in the evening and leaving after breakfast the next day. It's cost £200 so I feel like I have to go.

Si1ver · 29/05/2018 09:17

That seems like the best idea. I hope you can enjoy some of the spa day at least.

SoozC · 29/05/2018 21:13

Had a private scan today at 9+2 - all is good! Heartbeat all there and lovely little photos. She even showed us a 3D!

I think the chance of mc after a heartbeat at 9 weeks is slim, right?

LimpLettice · 29/05/2018 22:28

Sooz that's so lovely Smile yay for over 9 weeks. Private scan told me it drops right down at that point.

Si1ver · 30/05/2018 07:54

MC rates drop right down after you've seen a heartbeat SoozC. Congratulations.

DoAsDreamersDo · 30/05/2018 10:31

ooh congrats Sooz such lovely news.

I had my 12 week dating scan yesterday and it was the first scan I've had so I was a bit nervous but everything was fine and we got to see our little one wiggling about on the screen!

Summer1986 · 30/05/2018 13:36

Congratulations to your both on your positive scan experiences x

Thanks, Milk, actually having a wobble right now as had a small bit of spotting a little while ago. But trying to stay positive. After the heartbeat yesterday and even getting to see the blood travelling through the umbilical cord it must be such a small chance of miscarrying. I'm being gentle to myself, lots of rest, DH is going to cook (I was supposed to cook for him tonight). Just trying to relax.

Argh, I hate this so much sometimes!!

2 weeks tomorrow. I can't wait, although I doubt it'll stop me from worrying. Going to see what this evening and tomorrow morning bring. Just have to wait it out.

DoAsDreamersDo · 30/05/2018 18:08

Thanks milk I definitely didn’t feel like I had nerves of steel yesterday! We just went for a carvery meal for tea (dinner) but I had all day morning sickness yesterday so didn’t really enjoy it 😟

WonkyDonk87 · 31/05/2018 05:44

Morning ladies.... it's a very tentative step into this thread for me. Got my bfp last Sunday (and have done two more since). Puts me at 4+6 today I think as LMP was on 27th April. Boobs are a cup size bigger (bonus!) but I'm waking bright as a button at 5am (NOT a bonus). I'm considering a private scan at 8 weeks as I'm on holiday then and would like to know if it's stuck or not (providing it has by then). DH and I are talking about it cautiously, and only ever preceded by the words 'if this sticks'. Hope all is well with you lot, I can see I've got some catching up to do!

RhiBee29 · 31/05/2018 06:28

Congrats @WonkyDonk87 lovely to see you here! I had a private scan at 9wks definitely worth it x

Hello Wonks. Lovely to see you here. We're still doing the whole 'if this goes ahead' thing too.

I'm getting a private scan at 7 weeks as that's what the IVF clinic requests.

@Milknosugar1 what bits did you find most useful for maternity clothes early on?
