I ordered some maternity/nursing bras finally but no other clothes yet - I'll have a bigger bump in the autumn and winter so holding off (going to scour eBay for a winter coat). Until then I can cope with maxi dresses and drawstring linen trousers!

Glad you found us, Wonks, I was thinking I'd have to send you a link!

No more bleeding here so fx it was just a little blip.

DoAsDreamersDo · 31/05/2018 09:44

Welcome Wonk

It's my first Milk and I definitely feel that I should start buying a few bits of maternity clothing. Unfortunately my boobs aren't getting any bigger though. I'm still fitting into my jeans as they sit quite low, but I think I'll only get away with that for a couple more weeks!!

I've just this morning ordered some mat basics from BooHoo, I liked their sizing last time (a lot can change in 9 years mind) but will do an eBay bundle again. I wore most of it, then donated it on, and it cost about £40. Clearly I'm not very discerning haha. Just need worky bits really.

SoozC · 01/06/2018 15:46

I haven't put on any weight yet so have some growing room in most of my clothes. Which is a bit annoying because I'd love an excuse to buy some maternity clothes! I've seen a little dungaree dress in Mothercare that I'm itching to buy!

That said, after I posted the other day I went on eBay and saw a JoJo winter coat in the right size for 20 quid! So I bought it. Even though I won't wear it until October at the earliest. But couldn't resist!

God, I love shopping and this pregnancy is just a brilliant excuse! I'd love it if there was more maternity clothing in shops, though, so I could have a day out with my mum to ooh and aah over bump stuff. Makes me want to set up a shop myself!

I'd visit too.

Laying in a sun bed this week has shown my diastasis from DD is already returning with a vengeance. I have an awful vertical hump in in certain positions and look way more that 15.5 weeks already. Slightly concerned it's going to be much worse this time, will mention at midwife appt. I reallllly want to use the midwife unit here, which is technically a no go due to age, but midwife said consultant would likely be persuaded if there are no complications so nervous to see if that counts. Pfft. Also I'm going to be a fatty forever Grin

SoozC · 01/06/2018 17:29

My maternity/nursing bras have arrived - god, they are so comfortable!! I am so not going back to underwire for a while. Although a bit weird to have that clip-fold-down bit, can't actually imagine breastfeeding!

Limp, what is diastasis? Sounds not very nice Sad

LimpLettice · 01/06/2018 17:38

Sooz, I've been in soft bralets the whole way through, even with reasonably big boobs they are so comfortable. Not sure I'll ever go back now. I never bothered with the clips and was a long term bfeeder. Yanked soft bras down. Didn't mean to do it for so long it just was so much easier than faffing with bottles and I'm terminally lazy and loathe the smell of formula.

Diastasis recti - quite common but not pleasant, a split down the front of your stomach muscles. I had a lot of fluid with dd and was ginormous and the muscle never went back together. I had a four finger gap which partially closed, but had to have mesh put in a couple of years ago to repair a hernia over my belly button. Was a bit disconcerting having the bit of intestine sticking out. It never fully closed but the hump is a sign its all opening again. Core wrecked = massive gut and sore back. What a joy 🙄

Si1ver · 01/06/2018 17:43

My boobs have gone up a cup size already. I look like a fat porn star.

Blimey, Limp, that sounds horrendous. Is that what you see when a pregnant woman has a vertical line down their bump? 'Scuse my ignorance, I haven't really looked into all the bad things about pregnancy, don't want to scare myself!

Si1ver - hah! Me too. My boobs were already an E-cup, they're definitely bigger, it was one of the first signs in both pregnancies. I always hoped they'd get smaller, as happened to one of my friends, got my fingers crossed the breastfeeding will help!

Will definitely use the clips, at least to start with, just because they're a novelty! Grin Also got to get used to breastfeeding in front of my parents...not looking forward to that! And not even thinking about doing it in front of my DH's parents...ick!!!!

Si1ver · 01/06/2018 18:40

@SoozC mine were a GG to start with Confused

@Milknosugar1 oh noes. Poor you. I hope your weren't sat in your bosses office.

LimpLettice · 01/06/2018 19:13

I was an F to start with, no idea now.

Sooz that's likely to be the discolouration line, linea nigra? Diastasis is not really obvious, until after. My hump is only noticeable in certain positions and you'd probably not notice. Probably best to stay away from google Smile no point scaring yourself with things you probably won't get!

Ah Milk. I wish I couldn't empathise. I can though. No pale trousers for a bit haha.

WonkyDonk87 · 01/06/2018 21:21

Having a complete mind-melt this evening ladies. Desperately having to keep my head in check from bouncing between thinking of the future, and being convinced it'll fail again. Told my acupuncturist I'd got my BFP today and she said she could feel it in my pulses at the last session but never dares to say anything Grin here's hoping she can work her magic to make it stick.

NimbleKnitter · 01/06/2018 21:53

I'm desperately wearing a support belt to stop the abdominal separation getting worse. Those of you early one - engage your core! It stops you putting too much pressure on your abs, so they don't get quite so fucked.

Maternity clothes are generally awful. I wore my jeans undone with a t-shirt over the top. Then shirts only buttoned at the top with a jumper over the top.

Now summer is here, that shit doesn't cut it, but at least I've only had to buy clothes for one season.

Oh - maternity pyjamas are your friend.

I don't envy you - the first trimester was the absolute worst

WonkyDonk87 · 01/06/2018 22:07

Thanks, I'm doing what I can to reassure myself still pissing on sticks even though it means bugger all and we've decided a scan at 8 weeks is definitely going to happen if I get there. Will be at the start of me week's A/L so if it's not stuck/mmc then I've got the week off work already. Oh. And sorry about your wee incident, how mortifying!

Nimble that sounds really crap for you. Hope your belt helps, I'm assuming it's not exactly Agent Provocateur stylee? Grin

WonkyDonk87 · 01/06/2018 22:08

MY week's A/L..... not talking in an accent.

SoozC · 01/06/2018 22:22

Hah, Wonky!

Nimble, I am googling core exercises right now - really don't want abdominal separation, sounds terrible.

Blimey, there are far more bad things to do with pregnancy than anyone ever tells you! No more today, guys, please!

SoozC · 02/06/2018 10:26

FFS, had some red blood last night after straining on the loo and a little this morning. Can straining cause that? I'm not cramping so just trying to relax and see what today brings.

Is there no end to the stress?!?!

NimbleKnitter · 02/06/2018 10:44

Blood after straining can be piles - another fantastic pregnancy side effect.

If you need to strain, get on the fybogel or lactulose. Trust me on this...grim

NimbleKnitter · 02/06/2018 10:45

Oh, and Sooz - not even the half of it. Wait until the post-birth info comes in. Harrowing

LimpLettice · 02/06/2018 10:56

Was about to say the same as Nimble. Lactulose should help.

Best not to think about post birth! Some bits are very grim but the hormone high helps no end or no one would ever do it again Grin

SoozC · 02/06/2018 22:49

God, the more I read on piles the more I worry I have them. Lovely. I've already lost all interest in sex, this is making me feel even less sexy by the moment. And let's not forget the very dry skin on my face, fingers and ankles swelling in the heat already and the gas.

When do I get that pregnancy "glow" you hear mention of so much?!?!
