hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 21:31

Microphones and condensed milk???!!! The last time my dp went out without me he came home with a black eye and he didn't remember how it happened! Twat!

NattyThomasandEllen · 11/05/2007 21:31

lol men have no idea!
one tiny bag for 3 people lol

foxybrown · 11/05/2007 21:32

PMSL at both of your DPs!!

Condensed milk???? Was he sleeping and dreaming of it or was he awake and genuinely wanting some?

Funny lot! Is there something going on with them? A bit of light madness before their new offspring arrive?

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 21:32

Just thought I'd illustrate how my hosp bag would be! A pair of knickers and a toothbrush and maybe a babygrow!

NattyThomasandEllen · 11/05/2007 21:33

lmao, yeah mine came home with a nose bleed, got in a bath and passed out..
needless to say in my state lugging him out of bath NOT an option (he wears XXL..big man) i pulled the plug out to stop him drowning and he woke to find himself naked and shivering 3 hours later... PMSL

foxybrown · 11/05/2007 21:34

ROFL natty! Men are such a bunch of knobs, but they do make our lives more entertaining!

Actually foxy I'm not sure he knows where my clean knickers are. He'd prob pack me a pair of his shorts instead!

NattyThomasandEllen · 11/05/2007 21:41

i think that must be what they are there for.. do they have any other uses ??

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 21:47

NattyThomasandEllen · 11/05/2007 21:47

BadZelda · 11/05/2007 21:48

Hello you chatty lot! Let's see what have you covered today...placenta stew? I don't think so: sounds nasty! Naming of parts: fanny and willy in our house. General health: sorry Derlor to hear that you've caught the bug - hope you're feeling better soon...Cushions - if you send me some fabric Ria can knock em up for you in 10 mins?

I've been in town this arvo meeting with clients and then buying new shoes. Then went to meet an old friend at a jazz bar in Soho and had a glass of Sangria. Am now rather knackered! Plus was a bit of a struggle getting home, but also quite nice to be out in the west end - has been quite a long time. And DH has just presented me with a lovely bowl of steaming wonton soup before heading out to the pub, so I'm sure that will sort me out.

Have been struggling a bit with general nausea over the last couple of weeks - anyone else noticed feeling a bit sick? Actually it feels a bit like morning sickness, except that I get it in the afternoon / evening...still, today was the last time I actually have to leave the house for work (I'll just be at home on laptop for next two weeks) so it ALMOST feels like being on mat leave...and I did take DD to playgroup yesterday morning and this morning, so gradually easing out of work mode. Really looking forward to being full time mummy again for a while.

R.e. homebirths...we've no carpets in our flat at all - and DH tells me there was no blood at all with daughter's birth (sounds a bit odd to me, but that's what he tells me) so hopefully will be ok with our collection of old shower curtains? Am planning on using the sofa bed in the sitting room rather than our bedroom as there's more space there and also it's off the street, so passer's-by won't hear me screaming...for some reason this really worries me? Am I crazy?

NattyThomasandEllen · 11/05/2007 21:50

yes have been getting sickness in evenings too.
ur not mad at all, one of the things i worried about was noise!

NattyThomasandEllen · 11/05/2007 21:55

im going to bed.. knackered.
nighty night all

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 21:56

Evening BZ! I've been getting morning sickness lately, not sick, but retching when I wake up. I think our bodies are just a bit tired and fed up!

Not too concerned about the noise as the pool is going in the back room, so is off the street and we live in a semi, so only have one set of neighbours to hear me! I didn't really scream with dd as I was concentrating too hard on getting her out! More like mooing and grunting!

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 21:56

Night natty, sleep well x

BadZelda · 11/05/2007 21:59

Speaking of hospital bags. my brother called me when his wife was in labour (jan 2006) as they were both panicking and didn't know what to do (think she spent most of the pregnancy in denial). Got to his house, which was completely upsidedown, only to find her contractions were 4 minutes apart and she was lying practically naked on the floor in total agony and panic with NOTHING packed. Luckily I had given her a big box of stuff for baby, so was able to grab newborn clothes, nappies etc from there, but was really shocked when I asked my brother where she kept her clothes and he replied 'I don't know, it's her fucking problem if she didn't pack any knickers' - he was more concerned with finding a lighter for his joint! I must add my brother is a bit of a wanker, and the rest of our family doesn't operate like that...

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 22:02

at your brother bz! Makes me look organised! Good job they had you to come round!

BadZelda · 11/05/2007 22:06

Yeah...sadly not a happy ending to that story. They are now separated and it looks like my LO with never see her cousin again...my mum and brother have said they don't want any contact with baby...I am angry and disappointed, but there's nothing I can do about it save going to court and trying to get a contact order myself. His (ex)wife has claimed I am too violent and unpredictable to be allowed to see my neice!

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 22:11

for you bz! What a horrible thing to say! Violent and unpredictable? That's just spiteful!

foxybrown · 11/05/2007 22:12

Ah that is sad BZ!

I'm not very keen on my neighbours at the moment (in the upstairs flat) so I hope I can scare them off with my homebirth!

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 22:16

Grrrr...I asked my dp to make me some toast about half an hour ago, the twunt still hasn't done it! I spend my life making drinks and food for him and he can't even be arsed to make me some toast!

I'm not even going to tell my neighbours about my homebirth. I can't be bothered to speak to them, they are not worth the effort!
