ROFL at the stuff you're picking out Holly. Would send my DH into overdrive, too bad it's hopeless

Just finished the ironing. Ahh felt so grand to have it all crisp and lovely, especially gazing down at my swanky new ironing board cover (Cath 'bird white' print). I may even decide to take up the ironing lark more than twice a year!

Caught myself wondering if the LO would 'notice' that my tablecloth was crease free. Surely this indicates I've no further brain cells left?? Can I go into labour now please??

la la la la, la la la.....

sputnik · 11/05/2007 13:56

Can't help with the crotchless knickers. But I found this for all you home birthers. Don't click on it if you're having lunch, ok?

eeeewwwwwwww

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 13:59

Do you think it's imminent lilkel? I love the bird print, it's lovely! I am really hankering after the boat print fabric for the curtains in lo's room, I think I might have to keep dreaming, we have massive windows, they would cost a fortune! You are so good doing ironing, I haven't done any for ages!

Ria, hope your BHs go away soon! I'm sure your friend will understand if your house is a mess. Mine have seen my house in various states and are still my friends!

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 14:01

OMG that is farking disgusting! Barf!

daisybump · 11/05/2007 14:13

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?

Please don't anyone tell me they're thinking of eating their placenta...or feeding it to the in-laws.....smacks of cannibalism to me!

This on the other hand....unique and interesting nursery curtains material? ...esp if you can't afford the Cath ones?!!

sputnik · 11/05/2007 14:20

I was born at home and I think my mum buried mine. Good fertilizer apparently

sputnik · 11/05/2007 14:21

You could feed it to them and then tell them afterwards. Hehehe

notsolilKel · 11/05/2007 14:28

Please. Someone. Change. The. Subject. Quickly.

I had a pizza for lunch and really don't want to see it again...!!!

mytwocents · 11/05/2007 14:29

sputnik hee hee, I 've told dp we should serve some pate to our very conservative family members then tell them as their eating it that it's placenta pate...heheh he thinks I'm juvenile!
he's right.

sputnik · 11/05/2007 14:31

I am 40 going on 14. No, make that 4

mytwocents · 11/05/2007 14:36

i reckon our next thread title should include a placenta recipe - or am i just in an antagonistic mood....?

notsolilKel · 11/05/2007 14:38

uh oh, it's starting again....the great thread title debate.... how about "This is the Thread Title for Babies Due in May"?

am seriously antsy at the moment. need something to do/buy/iron....

daisybump · 11/05/2007 14:38

sputnik...you're just trying to get your own back on your MIL for the whole left-over rice thing aren't you?

Burying it I'm OK with....but I'm equally happy for the hospital to just take it away and incinerate it along with everyone elses.

daisybump · 11/05/2007 14:42

I'm keeping well out of the great thread title debate......I'm still happy to stick with just plain and simple old "Due in June....."...but then again, I am a coward.

Just saw this:

By largeginandtonic on Fri 11-May-07 14:46:09
BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT

SOH and Mr SOH are very happy to announce the arrival of a lovely baby girl......she was born by emergency C section in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. Both mum and baby are doing well

Finally.....

notsolilKel · 11/05/2007 14:50

TG. Was really worried. Guess we had reason to be seeing as how it was supposed to be a home birth... phew!

sputnik · 11/05/2007 14:58

Was thinking something dramatic must've happened. Glad they are both fine.

When the midwife showed me the placenta it looked like a huge steak, and I felt quite proud really. I'm a veggie though (well, eat fish), so didn't ask for a doggie bag

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 15:24

Shitty, shit, shit (quite literally!) dd has just done a poo in the last nappy in the pack! Was going to and get some earlier, but I forgot! Pregnancy brain alert! Does anyone know how to fold a terry nappy? I have some kushies, but I think they are too small, wank, arse, bollocks! Dp has just gone out as well. I'm going to have to improvise here! !

Glad SOH is ok!

daisybump · 11/05/2007 15:41

Holly....if its not too late...try this . But it looks a bit difficult to me.

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 15:46

I managed to rig up a terry insert thing inside a waterproof wrap! It seems to be working and I could get her trousers on over the top, which you can't do with kushies! Thanks for the folds link though, I shall try some of those out! My mum bought me loads of terry nappies the other day so I could try them out, I am a bit frightened of them tbh!

daisybump · 11/05/2007 15:48

A friend of mine used terries with her LO and he was potty trained at 18 mo and out of night nappies at 2.5 yrs.

I thought about re-usables, but they can take an age to dry....might give terries a go though as they aren't really very dear these days are they?

daisybump · 11/05/2007 15:50

Whay about this for a business idea......an emergency delivery service for mums who've forgotten to buy things. I culd keep a samml stock of things like nappies, wipes, formula, calpol. all those things that annoyingly run out at inopportune moments....mind you I'd be stuck myself between the hours of 7:30pm and 9:00am!

daisybump · 11/05/2007 15:51

god my spelling/typing just gets worse and worse.

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 15:54

They are really cheap and not very bulky. £10 for 6 in Mothercare, but I'm sure you can get them cheaper. You can use muslins as nappies for newborns as well apparently! Let's see if my good intentions work out once lo arrives!

How organised am I? I've just washed and dried a load of old towels for the impending event! I'm very concerned about how much mess I'm going to end up with!

hollyandalice · 11/05/2007 15:55

Good idea daisy! Can you drive down to me and bring me some Huggies pull ups?!
