Just found this from weeonion of the April thread. Poor Vio and James ...we've all been following the April births, so thought you ladies would want to see this.

notsolilKel · 10/05/2007 13:57

hell-ooooooo

where to begin? DS fever & whinging last night turns out to be reaction to last week's MMR jab. Also has rash. Poor dear just wants cuddles 24/7 it's really making me cuz I'm thinking how much I'm going to miss him when I'm away in hospital having the baby!!!

Daisy I so feel for you, was doing transatlantic dating with DH once upon a time and my happiness became directly correlated to frequency of texts, emails, phone calls, and (yes even) handwritten letters. And I am one demanding bitch so he had a lot of work to do!! Thankfully he realised this early on. Cld try acting uber-grateful when he finally does what you want. You know, old fashioned Pavlovian behaviour training...

Natty OMG I am so at the state of affairs on your behalf!! Thank goodness you have a least a bit of leeway whilst the landlord tries to evict you. Stand your ground woman! Keep us posted!

Here's my latest attempt at vanity unreasonable labour bag?

Fave food at the mo is new Mars Planets. Yumlicious.

daisybump · 10/05/2007 14:04

He's in Boston, Lincs....not Boston, Mass. Unfortunately...if it was Boston, Mass. I'd be over there with him like a shot...but Boston, Lincs..... OK if you like fields and fields and fields and fields...(you getting the picture) of farking cabbages.

justbeme · 10/05/2007 14:08

Poor Vio - ive also just been reduced to tears reading the May Thread with Show of hands in labour!

Oh god and ive got to go and get ready 4 work now!

Havent felt well today - so so glad this is my last day - Took the dog out 4 a walk and nearly fainted and feel q abit dizzy now.

Also asked the midwife yesterday about this patch of skin on my tummy thats gone "numb" but also quite sore - apparently LO is sitting on a nerve - how weird!

notsolilKel · 10/05/2007 14:08

sorry my American-centric mind just assumed... well then he's got even less excuse to be so twunty!!

anyone else constantly misplacing their pg notes?? gahhhhhh

daisybump · 10/05/2007 14:14

Not my notes, but I did put a tub of coleslaw in the freezer and then spent ages pulling everything out of the fridge, checking the boot of the car etc. It wasn't till I went to get an ice-cream that I found it....muppet

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 14:18

Natty, I'm with Daisy I'm afraid.

You need to be a single parent and go down the B&B route before the Council will give you a council place. There are people who have Council flats and rent them out privately and don't get me started on Thatcher selling off social housing in the '80s.

Oh, am I showing my age?

Lie Natty. Tell them your husband left you. Get a private landlord and the council to pay housing benefit.

Is that wrong of me?

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 14:24

Natty, get yourself down to the CAB and make sure you are clued up on your rights as a tenant. Get your tenancy agreement and check it out in detail. What a fucking fuck.

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 14:35

You are all on the May thread, aren't you??

daisybump · 10/05/2007 14:39

Aha...it pays to be stroppy and complain. I've just had a lovely letter form the double glazing company, grovellingly apologetic over the repeat sales calls we have been getting. They also apologised for another company who phone us saying they are a sister company...they're not apparently...well Safestyle have contacted this company on our behalf and asked them to stop harrassing us and using their name to obtain custom. They've also given me details of the Telephone Preference Service who will block sales calls if you register with them.

So for anyone bugged my those irritating answer and no-one is there calls at tea-time...their website is www.tpsonline.org.uk

daisybump · 10/05/2007 14:41

Dipping in and out Foxy...but its all gone quiet over there for the time being...it seems like it was an exciting morning.

You better get your DP clued up about MN....we will be expecting no less from now on from all you homebirthers. The bar has certainly been raised by Mr SOH

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 14:47

I know - I had that exact same thought - I think DP would be glad of the distraction from me mooing in the corner!

I will defo try to do a live-birth thread! But obviously its going to be over so quickly I might not have time

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 14:47

Does anyone know anything about the Magic Boiler Scheme?

Dull, I know.

daisybump · 10/05/2007 14:51

Is this it?

notsolilKel · 10/05/2007 14:54

sorry couldn't help think it's a type of kids toy - akin to Magic Roundabout - who thinks up the names of these schemes??

Yeah was looking over at May - trying desperately to think non-birthing thoughts tho as I must make it till Sunday (37 weeks) before I'm letting this one out! She's one determined little though

daisybump · 10/05/2007 14:56

Oops...something wrong with that link foxy...but google it and lots comes up.....its called something else in the Thames Valley....magic boiler or something.

I only know about this as we need to replace our whole system at some point as our boiler and pipework is reaching the end of its useful life and isn't terribly efficient (that and we have to bleed the radiators on practically a nightly basis)

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 14:57

Shit, I didn't realise it was that soon - my god, we might see June babies oh so soon... keep your legs crossed and lie on your back

thanks Daisy, looks about right, but can't find anything for our area. But that's v helpful

daisybump · 10/05/2007 15:01

Right...time for the school waddle.....wonder if the other man in my life will notice my new hairdo?

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 15:52

Its chucking it down here. Done the school waddle, time to make some cereal bars. See? I do do parenting. Sometimes. Rarely.

Off to check the May thread before paying attention to my children ...

mytwocents · 10/05/2007 15:58

Foxy, cereal bars, you are good!
Weather here is grim, freezing rain and windy
I have just eaten a large baguette with 6 mini cheeses, pot of humus and packet of peanuts followed by 2 flake desert thingys( amazing!)

I feel sick.

NT&E, can you find a private place, apply for housing benefit (quickly) and get it backdated...
You would have to say you were on your own, be careful if you do have to fib , for you....

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 16:02

Arrggghhhh!! Cue hour long tantrum from dd! She has worn me out today! It is raining here too, it keeps stopping and starting. Bloody nightmare!

Natty I just told my dp about your housing situation and he said he went through something similar with his ex wife. The council refused to help them, so he went and sat in the council offices from the second they opened. He sat there all day and said he wasn't leaving until someone helped him. They found a place for them by the end of the day. I don't know if this will help, but it goes to show that there is always something the council can do for you. Hope something works out for you.

daisybump · 10/05/2007 16:14

Natty...thinking about your housing issue......you could always try taking it to the local paper...wouldn't look too good for the council if they refused to help a young family with one small child and another on the way.....

daisybump · 10/05/2007 16:18

Off to parenting type things myself...not cereal bars...you can actually make them? .....but homemade meal for tea rather than feeding DS Annabel Karmel ready meals, then I'm under orders to sit and watch the new CBBC series Dino-Sapien at 4:30...oh joy!

DS did notice my hair. He said "mummy what have you done to your head?...it's gone a funny colour" Definately a case of Nature over Nurture there I think!!

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 16:22

Have fun cooking daisy! I'm off to make a sausage casserole! Lol at your funny coloured head!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 16:47

when you have more than one child you can't afford to feed them Annabel Carmel ready meals

Cereal bars are an AC receipe - dead easy, rice krispies, oats, pecan nuts & dried apricots all glued together with melted white chocolate, butter and syrup! Bung them in the fridge. Just yummmmmmm.

Have just been quoted £3300 for a new boiler from British Gas . Looks like I'll be boiling the kettle after all... shittyfuckingbollox, if you'll pardon me.

Shitty nappy to attend to. Oh joys of motherhood!
