Easy Living magazine subscription 6 magazines for £6 EasyLiving6for£6

Also 3 Marie Claires for £1 marieclaire3for£1

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 11:29

But if you do take out these subs remember to cancel them! I don't think you are tied in to an annual contract with these (unlike She Magazine where you take up the offer and then have to buy the next 6 months too)

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 11:30

Good offers foxy! I used to love marie claire, but I think it would just depress me now!

sputnik · 10/05/2007 11:39

LOL at your hectic schedule Foxy. Do people still make beds in this day and age, or am I the slob (don't worry, already know the answer to that)?

Had such a weird night last night. We're at MIL's and DD always used to sleep in our bed here. Last week we decided to put her in a travel cot as it was getting uncomfortable, and she was relatively ok about it. Last night she wasn't having it, cue screaming, crying refusing to lie down etc and me thinking I can't give in or we'll never get her back in. 2 HOURS later, round midnight, I give in. She's nothing if not persistant. Then I wake up in the middle of the night with fever, so bad I'm shaking under the covers, followed by sweaty night with dreams of blood etc. Felt decidedly shaky this morning but just had a sleep and feel relatively normal. Can't explain it really.

sputnik · 10/05/2007 11:46

BTW I think the evil name changer last night must've been DKMAFME, I heard her cackling in the background.

daisybump · 10/05/2007 11:59

Good Nearly Afternoon all.

Feeling quite viryuous today.....dropped DS off at school, drove to Headingly (next area over...better shops) went to Health Food shop and got my raspberry leaf tablets, then dropped in at the hairdresser on the off chance of an appointment....two hours and 70 quid later, I've been preened and pampered and head massaged and cut and highlighted...so feeling like a new woman.....well less of a frump anyway . Now sorting out a reasonably healthy lunch of baked potato and salad as I've been eating crap lately. Also did a quick whizz around the supermarket, and only got a slightly odd look from the cashier for two boxes of magnum, four ripples and three bars of galalxy.
Also had a mad craving for mozarella cheese and have just eaten a whole one.....it was bloody nice and now wish I'd bought more!

And I bet DH doesn't even notice my hair....twunt.

daisybump · 10/05/2007 12:02

Just catching up...hope you're feeling better Sputnik...sounds horrible. Good Luck with the gynae today.

And good luck to Natty, hope you get something sorted!

How are you doing Foxy....have things settled down again?

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 12:24

Sputnik, hopefully its your body fighting something off and you'll be OK now. Hope you are OK now.

Daisy - thanks, I'm fine now. Feeling good. Listened to my body! Sat on my arse!

Am worried tomorrow is going to be bad, then swimming with the kids on saturday. DP away working all weekend, and out tonight, so he's no good to me until Monday morning. Might line up my sister if I need a hand.

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 12:25

I love having mags drop in through my door! Especially when I'm stuck on my arse with a baby on my boob!

Anyone else got REALLY itchy nipples?

sputnik · 10/05/2007 12:26

Hi Daisy, so can you still eat what you want without consequences then? Am . All the joy has gone out of food for me.
LOL at your "emotional bampot" yesterday, at love that word.

sputnik · 10/05/2007 12:27

Think I might have a stomach bug.

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 12:30

Whats wrong Sputnik?

What times your appointment?

daisybump · 10/05/2007 12:35

Ladies...quick...ShowofHands is having a live birth on the May thread....her hub is updating regularly as she is in the pool....how exciting

SmilingKiwi · 10/05/2007 12:41

HI lovely ladies
Foxy thanks for the magazine link!! Will even choose one for DH I think!
DaisyB you must feel like a million dollars a great way to spend your Thursday!
Sputnik, sorry your not feeling the best, sounds like you had a rough night (popping off now to post some warm chicken noddle soup to you!!)
I was good and turned the channel over from Baby ER... I have told myself I am not to watch such programs!
I am addicted to honey toast at the moment- picked up the yummiest organic Welsh runny honey from a trade show and have to refrain from eating it straight from the jar..honey is OK to eat while your pregnant isnt it?

SmilingKiwi · 10/05/2007 12:46

oh exciting! lets go!....sulks off to May!

sputnik · 10/05/2007 12:47

Apt 3.30, followed by press conference on the State of Sputnik's Cervix .

Go for it with the honey smiling Kiwi, no problem for pg but very minimal risk for babies under 1 year. I am a former professional beekeeper so know what I'm talking about

daisybump · 10/05/2007 12:57

hope you feel better soon Sputnik...it is a tummy bug isn't it and not your body gearing up for labour? How many weeks are you now?

Yes I'm still eating like a horse with very little effect...more like the heartburn I had in the first trimester...i.e goes away with a drink of milk rather than 2 gaviscon advance.

My TH still being a twunt, and I'm still being an emotional bampot. I texted him earlier to tell him he was an insensitive twunt for not being in touch to see how I am given my emotional state/lack of sleep the last few days. He's just called...(not a good telephone call)....He's been in meetings all morning and didn't think I would appreciate a text message....when I've already said to him that if he's busy, even just a quick text to say "hi, how are you? busy but I'll call later" would at least let me know he actually does think about me when he's in Boston!

Now he's made me think that I'm being unreasonable and too needy and clingy. Fucking hormones.

But, my hair is lovely so I'm floating past the mirror in the sitting room in a slightly vain manner every so often to admire it....(I can only see myself from the shoulders up in that one so can't see the big fat arse and bump )

NattyThomasandEllen · 10/05/2007 13:04

council wont help us. great eh! im homeless in 31 days time and have no where to go, we have decided to lock the doors and refuse to leave

BadZelda · 10/05/2007 13:06

Oh Natty that's not good news

NattyThomasandEllen · 10/05/2007 13:07

i hate this country sometimes. they as good as said because im married and hubby works we dont qualify for any help.
so if i were a single mum and unemplyed i'd be ok.
its a bit late now eh! got married in feb
also thinking of the logistics of this flat and a double buggy (ie it wont fit through the front door)
aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i am so stressed out now. what am i supposed to do?

SmilingKiwi · 10/05/2007 13:16

Oh Natty thats CRAP treatment!! I would have chained my belly to the office chair and refused to leave without getting what you wanted!!
We have a tent you can borrow??!! Seriously though I am really sorry you have such stress to deal with, you cant even drown your annoyance with a bottle of wine!- Maybe a glass?
Daisy, I know excatly how you feel, my ex long term boyfriend (seems like I was 12 when I say boyfriend!) travelled overseas plenty and I always felt like I was too demanding or too needy just to get some communication from him...I kept thinking if I was away I'd find the time to quickly text or call...why cant he? I so feel for you and those hormones can tbe helping...rant as much as you like!

Been with DH for 5 years now and he says it took me a good year to accept that he DOES call or text all the time!!

sputnik · 10/05/2007 13:23

Natty that is crap.
Go with the lock the doors and refuse to move option and get looking for somewhere better. Hardly the best time for it though.

NattyThomasandEllen · 10/05/2007 13:30

well according to the council landlord has to apply through the courts before they can evict us. heres hoping it takes long enough to do that so we can save the £1200 needed in order to move. the council do scemes for UNEMPLYED people to borrow the money, but that wont help us much will it! bank wont loan us anything, friends and family havent got any money (they as poor as us lmao) so we are going to have to withhold rent for 2 months and use that. which is fun, 2 months trying to get 2 babies and a double pram up 2 flights of stairs, constantly worried im going to come home to find the landlord has chnaged the locks
aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh ffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccckkkkkkkkkkeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrssssssss

daisybump · 10/05/2007 13:38

Natty for you and more than a little bit at the system in this bloody count.

Go for the locking the doors option and we'll all come over and do a sit-in for you.

this country is awful isn't it. you would think they would be over the moon to have tenants who weren't dependant upon the state for paying the rent.

Are there any hosing associations you caould try. They often have different criteria than the council.

Failing that..lie and tell them that you and your DH have split due to the pressure of your housing situation and when they give you somewhere move him back in!

justbeme · 10/05/2007 13:48

OOh Natty - can only sympathise - dont have first hand experience - perhaps if you start another thread - some others may have ideas - although I quite like the "splitting up" idea.

Doggus, Im sure you know that we're all thinking of you and your family....

On a happier note - Im off to work at 1440 and - ITS MY LAST SHIFT AND THEN IM ON MATERNITY LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!
Im getting quite nervous about going in. Im only part time and every one works different shifts - so I think i'll be VERY lucky if anyone actually knows im leaving today - Its the sort of place that when you finish your shift - you may get 1 person saying goodbye, so it'll probably be a right old downer when I leave. Saying that, one girl I trained with gave me a lovely 5 piece baby set last night!!! It says something like "Hi family, Ive arrived!".
