hollyandalice · 09/05/2007 22:49

I was buying dp a usb storage thingy for his laptop! It was a very interesting purchase!

Night daisy, sleep well xxx

hollyandalice · 09/05/2007 22:52

Night bz, sounds like a good book. I'm not up for any book that makes me think too much atm! This week I am mostly reading discworld books (does that make me a geek?)!

derlor · 09/05/2007 22:53

hollyandalice · 09/05/2007 22:59

Night to anyone who's still around! I'm going to bed to watch QI!

riabutterflew · 09/05/2007 23:09

I love QI but am watching film with DH. Why do they love their jobs so much? (Maybe I'm just bitter 'cos I haven't found my vocation yet... have worked out it's not being a natural earth mother though!

Don't know what tomorrow will bring. Think DH should stay off and rest longer, just don't want to use feminine wiles to get him to realise...

Night all. X.

BadZelda · 10/05/2007 08:45

Morning all! Hope you had restful nights and pleasant dreams. I am giving myself the morning off work to take DD to the One O'Clock club and the sun is shining. Hurrah!

BadZelda · 10/05/2007 08:49

oh and thought I would post this because it cracked me up

sputnik · 10/05/2007 09:08

Morning all.
So sad to hear about Doggus' mum, that must be awful for her.

Natty, best of luck with the council today, really hope you can get something sorted. I'm with Derlor (? I think, brain going), if all else fails, cry.

mytwocents · 10/05/2007 09:57

Morning ladies!
Sputnik, hope your better today, have only skim read to catch up so sorry if I've missed 'owt important.....
BZ that pic made me laugh - as if!!

Well I feel - and look - like a potatoe. All lumpy, round and ungainly, my lo too seems to be fighting to get out! It's either that or doing the 400 mt hurdles every few hours.

very sad for doggus, I am SO lucky my mum is well at the moment, it's horrid when she's poorly but knowing it's terminal must be awful - OK STOP now 2cents! delicate hormonal balance today, tears come too easy...

Sorry but had to just join in ( belatedly) with your brief love in last night, my dp is being SUCH a sweetie right now, he's started picking up the babywhisperer book and bits of info here and there to discuss in the evenings, also is cooking and taking care of the grumbling, swollen blancmange that's on the sofa every night ! Angel!

Anyone read about the freebirthing movement yesterday? Did i miss a discussion already?

kittykitt · 10/05/2007 10:20

Hello all,
Hope everyone is feeling well and happy..
Sorry, not sharing the DH love in at all. Had a difficult day at work yesterday battling tiredness all day with no chance of sneaking in a nap.
DH asked to be picked up from the station at around 7, which of course i did. Driving home i was so tired that i managed to go through a red light (well, it had only just gone from amber to red, and it was raining so too dangerous to slam on brakes). He then proceeds to tell me to be careful everytime we approach another set of lights. TWUNT!! Like i don't know how to f'ing drive - i'm a better driver then him, for sure!!
By the time we got home i was tired, hungry and angry and rather than make me feel better he disappeared off to finish some work on his laptop
I was left to do dinner (ok, defrost some curry and nann breads)
i ended up in tears saying that i felt tired, everything is hurting and that i'm feeling really scared now that the time is getting near. He soon paid a bit of attention after that - even let me use him as a cushion during the Apprentice.
Still a twunt though.

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 10:26

Morning all!

Ahh, KK, I know how you feel - hope you are OK today.

Sputnik, good luck with the gynae today

Natty, good luck with housing. Yes cry, do that thing where you close your eyes and hold your breath saying "Its OK, I'm fine" through gritted teeth. They'll think you are going in to labour and want to get you out of there so will give you anything you want.

Doggus, thanks for letting us know what is going on. I hope this thread makes you smile from time to time, everyone was on good form last night.

Contrary to the finger pointing, I was NOT on here last night as DP was doing work! So am not responsible for any controversy! You were all very funny though, and I have enjoyed catching up today.

What's going on with the "I love my DH" nonsense? Its them with their penis-thingys who did this to us! And I'm with KK, I'm still the one who has to defrost the dinner and get it out of the microwave!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 10:27

And hurrah for everyone on MN who didn't respond to the June baiting thread last night! I think given the events of the day with the SWMNBN battle coming to an end, hopefully everyone is a little more positive about MN and stop picking on daft things!

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 10:33

Morning everyone!

My dd is doing my head in, I'm being a bit cranky, but she keeps grabbing at me and whinging and generally being whiney! Grrrr... Can't really go out either coz it looks like it's going to rain any sec! Have loads of housework to do, but haven't the inclination or mental strength!

I could have sworn godlovesyou was you last night foxy! Did you like the name changes? I think we were a little bit bored!

Good luck today sputnik, I have my fingers and toes crossed for you!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 10:43

I loved last nights posts! Thought you were all on good form.

I'm taking this morning off and going to watch Fern and Phillip and eat bagels.

The housework will still be there later. Eat toast under a blanket with DD. Mine is doing my head in, she gets into my bed every night and demands a bottle. I don't have the energy to deal with it yet. Perhaps I should stop bottles altogether? Does Alice still have one?

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 10:48

Yes she does still have a bottle. She has it downstairs before she goes to bed. I know you're supposed to stop bottles before they are 2, but it's the only way I can get her to drink milk, she won't drink milk as a drink from a beaker, so I'm just going to carry on. She has also been waking up at about 3 for the past few nights and demanding to come into bed with me. Maybe that's why I'm so tired. Thank god for cbeebies, she's stopped grabbing at me and moaning now!!

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 10:50

That sounded really bad, like I stick her in front of the tv every time she moans, but atm I don't have the strength to deal with the constant whinging!

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 10:57

Aren't those good housekeeping fly threads weird?! They are all a bit holier than thou about housework and I've just read their to do lists for today. Urrrr...get dressed, make beds, make breakfast, get dcs dressed. Aren't those things you do anyway? I feel a bit better now about my slovernly lifestyle! I was going to clean the bathroom, but now I'm not going to bother!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 10:59

Today I have
Opened my eyes,
swung my legs out of bed
stood up
sat down almost immediately again
got back into bed

Phew, hectic schedule!

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 11:03

Well done foxy! What a super good housekeeping stylee housewife you are! I have to say I'm not dressed yet, but at least dd is! And we have have had breakfast AND a snack! I think I deserve a medal!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 11:15

DD is at nursery this morning so its a real luxury doing nothing (already been to Homebase to do some returning). Normally I'm at the gym when she's there. Even got the boys to school on time, with lunch and PE kit! Defo feel like Mother of the Year!

DS2 has his first school trip tomorrow, so I get to go to the science museum again (yawn). Am dreading it and expecting a night of BHs already.

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 11:25

You are def mum of the year foxy!

I might pack my hosp bag today, not that I'm planning on needing it, but it's best to have it on standby. Also I thought that it would be useful to have everything in one place so that when lo is born we don't have to run round the house looking for sleepsuits, baby towels etc. All my baby stuff is in carrier bags in the spare room so hopefully packing my bag will make me sort it all out.

I lurve the science museum you lucky thing. Can't wait til dd is big enough to go there!
