Hmm trainee sonographer said that we're having a girl (at 20 week scan) based on the fact that he could see labia....however as they don't develop till 28 weeks I have my doubts...we'll see what comes out. Obviously have tons of girls clothes from DD, but have got white babygros etc for newborn so should be covered. Now I'm worried that they'll all be too small though...went for 'tiny baby' size as Ella was so small...

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 11:15

marylou - you're having a boy aren't you? Why oh why did I have it in my head you've got twins?

catsuitgirl · 09/05/2007 11:17

I'm having a boy - and I'm completely delighted except for one thing: no opportunty for cute little dresses and headscarves. DH says he's sure baby won't mind/remember being dressed as a girl for a couple of months if I get really desperate...

catsuitgirl · 09/05/2007 11:18

Ah, I was having twins originally - sadly one of them didn't make it

derlor · 09/05/2007 11:23

oh dear nobody has had a very good night have they???
i had a shit afternoon yesterday due to ever increasing fanjo and back pain then struggled to sleep most of the night as well.
had AN appt this morning and have to see the physio again - pain coming from my pelvis aparantly - feck all can be done except rest and oh yeah MW said - minimum walking - like thats possible!!!!! anyway waiting for physio to call me back with appt time - should be seen friday at the latest - quite impressed with that!
Ria glad your face is back to normal at your shitey treatment - it is such a postcode lottery isn't it? mind you don't think anyone has been 100% happy have they?
how sad is that!!!
my baby still floating freely but told it probably won't engage till i'm actually in labour anyway this time - that was the same for me last time anyway!
well i'm rambling now so off to sit outside while DD plays on her bike.
later chicks x

shit ML so sorry to bring it up ;( I am an arse

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 11:31

Weirdly I seem to have adjusted to average 5-6 hours sleep a night and don't feel at all knackered generally. Is this age? I'm also rubbish at napping during the day - can never ever manage it even if I'm ill. Just call me hyper girl...

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 09/05/2007 11:37

for you CatSG

I'm joining in on the crapness of last night!

I ended up in A&E after having a coughing fit and feeling like I'd cracked a rib!

Have had a cough (caused by acid / and hayfever mucus) for about a week now and left rib area was getting very sore. Then last night whilst having a big cough I heard a crack and was in floor hitting agony. It got worse and worse throughout the evening but DH had to go to his mums birthday 'meal out' and I didn't want to be left alone in house so I went with him (really stupid thing to do) then after main course I whispered to him that I think I wanted to go to A&E - and all drama broke loose (was a tat embarassing!!)

Waited in A&E for 2.30 hrs! then was seen and had a scan - no damage to lung and got to see LO - who was defo transverse - and was waving, and making fists with his little hands (was very cute).

Wouldn't Xray me to see if ribs ok - whats the point anyway - it's not like they could do anything about it. So have been resting today with some very strong paracetamol and a towel wrapped around my ribs - that I tighten up and brace myself when I cough.

Hey - It's great this being pregnant thing isn't it? I'm freekin lovin it

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 11:41

Heh - I fell off my bike at 19 weeks last pregnancy and went to A&E - funny watching them all flapping when they can't x-ray and are reduced to actually having to do some old-fashioned doctoring. They were just knocking on my chest saying 'does this hurt? What about this?'

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 09/05/2007 11:51

I felt sorry for the staff in A&E last night - the place was full of wankers and time-wasters!

Loads of young lads who'd been fighting over the weekend and were still hurting.

I saw a baby with hoop earings!!?? WTF?! She must have only been 7/8 months old and had hooped earings in each ear?????

I've never seen so much Argos jewellery in one place?!

I'm suprised I didn't get beaten up cos my face must have been very expressive (pain and disgust!)

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:26

Phew, caught up at last!

DKMA - hope you are OK. Sounds v traumatic!

BadZelda - Can't you go to Kings? I had a great birth there, had a consultant MW helping out, a regular MW through the whole thing with me, both of whom were brilliant. The community mws were fab too. Its technically Lambeth.

Slugs - my mum puts a saucer of beer out. They love it and die happy!

Am OK today - after giving someone a lecture last week about "listening to these warning signs our body sends us". So have had a shower, washed my hair (even introduced it to a hairdryer!) taken DD to playgroup and picked up DS2 from school, cleverly inviting his lowest maintenance friend for lunch to keep him entertained all afternoon. Now I can spend some quality time with you all!

Have another school trip on Friday, slightly worried about it.

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:28

Apparently you need a minimum of 5 hours sleep to be able to physically function. That's one of the biggest shocks to the system, but like BZ says, you get used to it. And you can't imagine what a treat it is when you get 8 full hours (about twice a year).

Hope you are enjoying your last day in the office BZ, hope you get taken out for a nice lunch!

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 12:29

Foxy - I will be going to Kings if there are any complications - that's my nearest hospital. Would like to avoid though.

Glad you're feeling a bit better...missed you on here ;)

Being last day, have even less work to do than usual: entertain me!

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 12:31

No lunch, no cards, no presents....they did offer to go out for a pint after work: the joy! Like I really want to hang around till they've finished work and go to a pub full of city wankers!

Oh well - mustn't grumble: I'm just a feelthy freelancer after all...

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:35

Ah, sorry I forgot you are homebirthing too!

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:36

Shall I revert to my alter-ego and go looking for trouble?

Only to keep you entertained, you understand

hollyandalice · 09/05/2007 12:40

Isn't it funny how lunch makes you feel better?!

DKMA that sounds like a nasty painful experience! Hope you are ok. PMSL about the baby with earrings, one of my pet hates! Bloody chavs! Did any of them have gold jointed clown necklaces on?!

BZ hope your last day is going well!.

Foxy, you dried your hair?! I haven't done that for bloody ages !

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:52

Yes, and I'm swishing it about a lot!

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:53

holly, I saw a fab home water birth on Discovery the other morning! Thought of you.

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:55

Anyone in London got details of a good boiler engineer? I need to get a new one
Unfortunately we can't afford a new boiler and a bigger car

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 12:56

Pah I'm bored. They have a pool table here - so may go and do a bit of sharking in a minute. I am usually a demon at pool, but haven't tried playing with 44 inch belly in the way...

Only 4 and a half hours to go...just been lurking on May AN thread...this week they are mostly losing their plugs...nice!

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 12:57

Yes foxy - I have a great one called Steve Bryant - he's really thorough and reliable and not too far from you I wouldn't have thought? Want me to dig his number up for you?

foxybrown · 09/05/2007 12:59

That would be fab BZ - much appreciated. My Email is [email protected].

Not sure I can have a homebirth with no hot water!

BadZelda · 09/05/2007 13:13

Done!

riabutterflew · 09/05/2007 13:17

Hi again. It's not going well today. Dh tempted me back to bed for a cuddle while DS2 was at pgroup, and as I got woken up by the bloody dawn chorus, followed swiftly by HB and cramp, I fell asleep and now feel SHITE cos I have to wake up. And haven't achieved anything.

Do we get a burst of energy and euphoria soon, or is this as good as it gets?

Sorry for those of you who have had proper scares. Sending .

It looks like it is going to rain. Hardly worth hanging out the washing today either.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
