looby - you have my sympathies too, I went to a posh wedding a couple of weeks ago. I didn't enjoy feeling so fat, however skinny cows with big boobs aren't pregnant and you can't get more womanly than a pregnant woman. That said, get yourself a fabulous hat or feathery thing for your hair, or some gorgeous costume jewellery. Anything to make yourself feel fabulous. Then you can swan around feeling gorgeous and sexy! And remember all those women only look confident and sexy cos they're drunk!

Penny - such a shame your nct woman said no more lying on the sofa, it's my saviour (even if it means having to put up with dh complaining I take up the whole sofa!) I do lie on my side though, the weight of bump is a bit uncomfortable. Did she say you could lie on your side? Left side is supposed to be good! Anyway, I've read about optimal foetal positioning, and there's plenty of time to worry about that... You can scrub floors to your hearts content later knowing your getting your baby in the right position!

MrsMar · 19/06/2007 15:32

oh and as for the "friend" in her size 8 jeans, I bet she's got stretch marks everywhere (and varicose veins, and piles, and flatulence and all the other horrid bits too!) Gosh I'm a cow today... my evil hormones are obviously uppermost today!

ps don't worry about heels, I've decided I'm in flip flops until this one decides to show his face. I've got size 9 feet, and when they swell in this weather I'm a size 10 and there ain't no point looking for nice size 10 shoes!

loobybump · 19/06/2007 15:36

hahaha. mrs mar you have made me feel much better i really dont know what has got into me today. woke up in pain and all day iv been a complete B1tch.

But this friend who wearing size 8 jeans she has literally just sent me a pic of her in her little knickers and her bump i think i can officially call her an EX FRIEND!

MrsFish · 19/06/2007 15:37

I sympathise on the wedding front, but please a bear a thought for me.. I have one on the 18th Aug with only 6 weeks to go, I am going to look hideous, and it is a free bar and I won't be able to indulge

I ordered this dress yesterday, so waiting to see if that fits as they only have a 14 in it, just hoping it will fit. I then need to accessorise, what colour do you think I should go for? Do you think a ginormous hat will make me look smaller?

MrsFish · 19/06/2007 15:39

HIWBB - what a shame all that lovely chocolate gone

I would have been too. Hope your hubby gets better quickly.

loobybump · 19/06/2007 15:41

O MY you will look hot in that dress i wish i got that aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! i do feel sorry for you with 6 weeks to go im dreading it already with only a week. i wanna have a drink too. ill try find a pic of the one i got i just got a normal long thing! you can accesorise lovely with that colour as well. i wish i got that! Boo

kinki · 19/06/2007 15:55

Looby, bet she'll have stretch marks the width of her belly. At least all of ours will be in proportion.

Penny, don't worry too much about those feelings. I think we all probably had similar at some stage. It's probably more concerning if you (meant generally) don't have worries like this. I know I did with ds1. With ds2 I was worried how will I love another as much as ds1 and with this one I'm worried how will the others cope with sharing me with someone else. There's always something to worry us!

Hopey, thanks for the comment about my dc. In a photo they are both still and quiet, and thus more likely to kid you into thinking they are gorgeous. In reality they are little monsters. That's really bad news about the dog, don't know what to say. But I wish a speedy recovery for your dh.

Mrs M, £1600 for all that work is well worth it if its done in a week. I'd pay that. I'd also pay that for a stick of dynamite to put up my husband's arse.

Well, I've been completely screwed over by my work. No maternity leave or allowance for me. I can't stop crying about it. I've worked there since 1990 and they don't give a shit. I feel physically sick, I'm so upset.

MrsFish · 19/06/2007 15:59

Kinki that's awful, what complete barstewards... it really angers me that employers expect loyalty etc, but won't reward you if you have been there for ages

loobybump · 19/06/2007 16:00

O no Kinki why cant you have maternity leave? 1990 that can't be legal what is it you do? I'm so sorry theres me moaning about silly things!

kinki · 19/06/2007 16:04

Can't explain now, got visitors, back later.

Pennypops · 19/06/2007 16:14

Kinki that cannot be legal - god this sort of thing makes me livid. Do you work on a freelance basis or something? Thank you for your kind words about my general worries - I feel like a complete drip now after seeing your post.

MrsFish I'm with you! I have another wedding on 11th August precisely 3 and a half weeks before due date. Bloody nightmare!!

Pennypops · 19/06/2007 16:16

Oh and MrsFish that dress is lovely by the way - you will look gorgeous. Obviously I don't know what your colouring is like but I think a nice raspberry darker pink accessories would look really nice with that. I so love nice clothes/

loobybump · 19/06/2007 16:18

He he! im glad i bought up teh wedding convo, making me feel better. It's just so bad becasue the bride is stunning and all her girlfriends are so attractive and very very very very flirty which makes me feel worse and by the time were all at the reception i just know that they will b all over my dp like they normally are i can handle it normally cos i can look sexy normally but this time around im stuffed well and truly!!! Dp just said i didnt have to go which has now just made me want to go even more!!! LOL i nede to get a life hahaha

loobybump · 19/06/2007 16:19

sorry about spelling nails are to long!

Pennypops · 19/06/2007 16:23

Looby - no matter how much these girlies flirt or what they look like YOU are the one having DP's baby. And that makes you pretty damn hot in his eyes I bet.

loobybump · 19/06/2007 16:26

True! think im having a very sensative day. LOL! a very very sense day by the look of my conversations. haha! Tomorrow i promise i will seem to be a different person... actually i wont promise as i have dentist and then thurday is midwife.. so maybe not!

MrsFish · 19/06/2007 16:32

Thanks Pennypops, there is a pic of me on my profile

Loobybump - I have the midwife on thursday too Try not to worry about the other women, at the end of the day your DH married you

sophus · 19/06/2007 16:43

Hopey - sure Battersea can fit an errant boxer in. My Dad has a st bernard who ate all our christmas dinnner once - and the food for boxing day.

Advice please ladies...

I was going to go down to a four day week at the end of this month, then finish work on 17th aug (due 5th sept), having long weekends in the run up. This is all using my holiday allowance. However i have just worked out that if i don't do the 4 day week thing i can use my holiday to finish work on 7th August - giving myself a lovely month off which might be lovely or might just be boring.

Long weekends or a full month - you decide...
xxx

MrsMar · 19/06/2007 16:55

looby - I'm glad I made you laugh! I would definitely consider jettisoning any friends who are thinner, prettier or richer than you. works wonders for me, of course I have no friends now.. sob!! I'd definitely go to the wedding though, esp if there are predatory females around. They'll all be jealous of your fab glowing pregnant skin and shiny hair! Get loads of rest during the day though, have a nap before you go so you can sparkle and everyone will be amazed at you!

Mrsfish, that dress is fab. I looked at it for the wedding I went to a fortnight ago, it's really pretty. I wore this one in the end, with a huge hat and a big silk flower corsage at the bust line (because I'm indecently huge, looked like something out of carry on!) The only reason I wore the big hat was to balance out my big hips. I also thought it might distract everyone from the rest of me, mind you it was HUGE!

What is it about weddings this year, I've got one on the 11th August too pennypops. I've already bought this one it's not terribly exciting, but I think by 36 weeks I'll have given up the will to live, let alone look gorgeous. It's a family wedding too, so I don't have to impress anyone, so I'm even thinking flip flops might have to be the footwear of choice.. maybe some nice sparkly ones!

Kinki - I'm so sorry to hear your work are being so arsey with mat leave and pay. I do hope they change their minds and realise what a prehistoric stance they're taking.

MrsFish · 19/06/2007 16:58

MrsMar I like that plum dress, if the one I have ordered doesn't fit/look right, I may just have to get that one instead

MrsMar · 19/06/2007 16:59

sophus - I'd be tempted by that month off. It all depends on how stressfull those 4 day weeks are, are they going to pile 5 days worth of work on you in those 4 days? Is your commute to work horrendous? I do horrible shifts and have to go to work on the tube, so I'm finishing work on 17th August (due 19th sept) My sister was full of doom and gloom "oh you'll be sat at home sweating in the heat, feeling too big to move around or do much" but I think if you haven't got other children to worry about, the rest will be great. There are ways to keep cool, and if you take it easy, who says you can't waft around and do nice things. It may be the last time you'll be able to just sit down and read a book or magazine for an hour etc. Blimey, I'm talking myself in to finishing work even earlier!

MrsFish · 19/06/2007 17:00

I like this one too may look a bit daft though on a shortarse like me

MrsFish · 19/06/2007 17:01

Sophus - I would opt for the full month off too, you can bask in the sunshine and get a healthy glow, and lots of sleep, you'll need it

loobybump · 19/06/2007 17:01

Sophus i would say you should have long weekends becasue it will make the weeks shorter.. well thats what i think i would do. My maternity on the 16th aug i think and baby due 11th sep! so a couple weeks for me to chill. which i think i should of taken now! Hm!

Weddings everywhere! Note to self never get preg at x mas!!!! bad idea!!!

loobybump · 19/06/2007 17:02

OOOOO thats similar to the one i bought but npt pink its green and from monsoon. o and i dont look like that in it!!!
