Hi all, just sat down!

Had a quick read through. Kinki, I think is so so shocking how you're being treated. It's little wonder that the NHS have problems retaining staff. You should be treasured really, didn't you say you started working there in 1990 or something? Shocking, really it is.

Pennypops, what a horrible experience you had on the train. What a cow! I agree, she probably had some deep seated bump envy... no excuse for treating you that way. Well done for standing your ground, you go girl!!

Well DC and me got home from hospital about half an hour ago. DH is feeling much better this evening. He was so spaced out earlier it was horrible to see. Bit of a flashback to November . TBH I'm a bit cross, because his elbow should have been sorted out back in January!!!! I'll try and keep this explanation brief

When he was knocked off his motorbike he shattered several bones in his arm (along with loads of other stuff), including the humerus and bones in his elbow. One of the fractures resulted in 'Synovial' [joint] fluid leaking from the elbow joint. At the end of Nov, the stitches on his elbow burst and this Synovial fluid started leaking out..... lovely. Dressing changes twice a day etc. This wound on his elbow hasn't healed since November last year!!!!!!

In January, he had a consultation and was told about the sinovial fluid and that he would need imminent surgery...we wait, and wait .. and wait, I chase, and chase and chase... NOTHING!

Anyway, the reason I'm really annoyed today is because the surgeon who did his surgery yesterday said that the synovial fluid has anticoagulant properties which stop any clotting occuring.. makes sense because you don't want your joints seazing up etc. SO everytime his elbow tried to heal, this synovial fluid would come along and destroy any clots forming. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

So we've basically had 7 months of looking after this gaping open wound when the only way to sort it was surgically.

The end result of all this is that the surgeon couldn't do all that he wanted yesterday, so will need to operate again in 6 weeks.

I'm coping remarkably well, I'm just really tired. I'm going to make myself some Taramsalata on toast in minute.... that'll cheer me up

Sorry ladies, I feel like I've been posting nothing but doom and gloom the past couple of weeks! I am quite a cheerful person really!
