OOO i bought a super amazing stretch mark oil so far so good and it worked on ma mummy and she has had 3. so hopefully i can continue my bad food habits. i rub this oil everywhere even my baby toe to avoid it. is that sad! lol!

MrsMar · 17/05/2007 16:47

Hi everyone, back from scan.. all went well. Everything measures totally normal again, bang in the middle of range for absolutely every measurement, I'm having the most average baby in the world! And that's no bad thing I think!

And just to upset the trend...

I'm having.....

A boy!

I knew already actually, we have so many women in my family, it's about time mother nature reset things a bit. Mind you, poor thing growing up in family full of loud shouty women!

Now the battle for names starts.... how can I persuade dh we can't name him after ANY italian footballers??!!

Rin23 · 17/05/2007 17:00

Congrats MrsMar! Great news! I am becoming increasingly envious but only a week to go b4 mine!

AND can everyone stop talking about nice foods cos I am being good from now on...

Hopeitwontbebig · 17/05/2007 17:02

Congratulations on your scan result MrsMar!! I'll be following with interest to see what your bubba weighs!!! DH and I were fairly big babies!

My DS1 was 10lb 10oz and DS2 was 10lb 4oz, hence my mumsnet name!! I blame it all on DH, he's 6' 2", but then I'm not short myself I'm 5' 7" and have quite a long body. I'm definitely not eating as much this time as I did with the other two, so it'll be interesting to see if it has any bearing on birth weight . I'm going for a sizing scan at 32 weeks, but I'm not going to take much notice to be honest, they did this when I was having DS2 and they predicted an 8 pounder

MrsMar · 17/05/2007 17:08

thanks Rin... takes ages for your scan date to come. Nearly there now though!

Sorry to go on about food, but I've just had a lovely piece of carrot cake with a cuppa... hmmmmmm!

Mind you, dh has been taking the piss out of me as I was weighed as part of the pre eclampsia study at St Georges, and I'm 14st8lb!!!!! oops! he's teasing me because on my scan notes the estimated weight of the baby is 485grams, his question was "where's the rest of it then?" hahahahaha, he wasn't laughing when I thumped him in the middle of Putney High Street!! And he won't be laughing when I put some powdered glass in his dinner tonight!!! hahahahaha

He's been quite funny today though, he was all giggly and slightly hysterical when we came out of the scan, really hyper. We got some scan pictures printed out again and one of them is of the baby's willy!!!! He keeps saying "its huge, that's my boy!" Now he's strutting around like he's some kind of stud! I'm only guessing, but I think he's pleased....

Looby, there was no mistaking what sex he is when she showed me his willy!!! hehehehe!!! the sonographer said "I'd be very surprised if this was a girl!!!" Or did you mean about the measurements? She put my scan report in with my notes and they have these little graph thingys for all the measurements... humerus, femur, head circumference, adominal circumference etc, and on all of them he was bang in the middle of the graph!

Hopeitwontbebig · 17/05/2007 17:11

SO happy for you, your DH sounds really sweet. x x x

MrsMar · 17/05/2007 17:13

Aw thanks HIWBB... he is a sweetie, but I think I must have made a mistake when I said it's a boy because he made it a boy. He now thinks he's entirely responsible for creating him... must explain how babies are made to him again!!! All together now... when a mummy and daddy love each other very much.... etc

Hopeitwontbebig · 17/05/2007 17:13

... they have a very special cuddle.....

And daddy plants a special seed in mummys tummy....

Hopeitwontbebig · 17/05/2007 17:15

actually, my DH didn't know how the boy / girl thing was decided! I embarrassed him after the scan because I said, 'I thought you only made boy sperm', at which DH gave a very puzzled look! I have since explained...

I also suggested that he must now be in touch with his feminine side

Wow Fio, your metabolism must go through the roof when you're pregnant!

MrsMar- just had a childhood memory come back to me.... my Dad explained to me once that the way babies are made is that 'He gives Mummy the bacon, and she cooks it!!!!!!!!!!!' PMSL

OP posts:
MrsMar · 17/05/2007 17:18

He's obviously a bit more advanced than my dh... he thought you could have sex once, at any time of the month, and voila! baby! The 14 months it took us came as quite a surprise to him!

MrsMar · 17/05/2007 17:18

Love the bacon story!!!!!! Brown sauce or red sauce??

ccpink · 17/05/2007 17:21

mrsm -brilliant news about your baby boy!I'm sure my dh would like a boy.
chatty -good to hear you are at least speaking - maybe you can sort things out?!
hopeitwontbebig and chatty - thanks for thoughts about mum
I daren't go near the scales either. How much should we have put on?My dad told me I'm like a whale
hugs to all

Hopeitwontbebig · 17/05/2007 17:22

That's right isn't it MrsMar?? My DH and I have only ever had sex 3 times in our lives..... well that's what my 10 year old will think I'm sure!!

Had a slightly uncomfortable conversation with DS1 on Saturday when we were at the baby show, right in the middle of a packed restaurant..... 'So Mum, what I don't understand is how Mum's and Dad's decide to have a baby, then like magic, they have a baby, how does that happen?' Had a rapid change of subject I can tell you!!
