This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

@AJ89 I think when there's double posts some users get missed or if the stats aren't copy-pasted into the list so I popped you in there!

MrsMermaid · 11/03/2018 09:20

@MeredithShepherd I know exactly what you mean about the impending doom. I've been taking tests every few days but I'm starting to feel like things will be ok now. More symptoms are creeping in and that can only be a good sign. I'm also reading the Emily Oster book, Expecting Better, and there are some helpful statistics in there. I would also love to join a fb group. I find it really hard to keep up in here!

FlareandSparkle · 11/03/2018 09:23

Congratulations everyone! I’m due 14th November it’s my first healthy pregnancy but suffered an ectopic last year. I’m with you all in the bloating! I’m a balloon. I’ve also got a weird sore throat. Can’t complain though, I’ve been wishing for this for a long time. C

minime2017 · 11/03/2018 09:33

Mind if I join? Got my bfp a week ago (and every day since) and have spent that time worrying and waiting for it all to go wrong. I just can't believe its real! We've been trying for the best part of 20 months and being almost 41 i was convinced it would never happen. Other than 1 chemical after 6 months there hasnt been a whiff of a line on any test. Trying to relax and enjoy the fact Im actually pregnant!

tinybump18 · 11/03/2018 09:38

@AJ89 I woke up yesterday feeling very hungover! Was a bad day yesterday Envy Not too bad this morning. Just a little sicky feeling.

Nightmanagerfan · 11/03/2018 09:40

I can’t tell you how encouraging it is to hear how some of you have similar symptoms! I am absolutely exhausted - no amount of sleep seems to help. Hearing of others going to bed at 6:30 makes me feel less alone, so thank you! Yesterday I went to my regular volunteering session in the morning, came home and went to sleep from 3pm - 9pm. Got up for dinner and then slept again from 11pm til 9ish. I’ve always liked my sleep but this is ridiculous! Does anyone have any tips to cope with the exhaustion? I’m not convinced sleeping actually helps....

MeredithShepherd · 11/03/2018 09:54

Is anyone else feeling light headed? Just st football with my son and had to sit down (what a shame) and went all light headed. It happened yesterday when I was doing the ironing too (double shame Grin)

OP posts:
toasterstrudle · 11/03/2018 09:58

Yes @MeredithShepherd - and hot flushes! I was carrying DS round a furniture shop yesterday and had to sit down as thought i was going to pass out!

SlowTango · 11/03/2018 10:00

Hi all sorry was out all day yesterday so couldn’t check my phone. Could I be added to the list, not sure how to do it?

SlowTango: 31 EDD 1/11/18 (according to NHS app anyway!)

@MeredithShepherd yes I’ve been getting little light headed moments for a few weeks. Almost like the sensation when you stand up too quickly? Thought I was making it up but apparently it is a symptom. Shame when means you have to stop the ironing 😉

MeredithShepherd · 11/03/2018 10:02

Exactly @SlowTango my DP will have to do it all from now on. Surely it’s not too early to claim I can no longer bend down to clean the bathroom either? Wink

OP posts:
SlowTango · 11/03/2018 10:07

@MeredithShepherd I was designated driver at a wedding yesterday while DH had a jolly time.... I expect a few more days like that ahead. So I shall feel no guilt in telling him that pregnant ladies are not allowed to clean 😬

tinybump18 · 11/03/2018 10:50

Very reassured to hear others are getting light headed/dizzy. I've been suffering with that for a week now and yesterday was really bad. Was beginning to worry but I feel like it's normal-ish!

BadBadBeans · 11/03/2018 12:03

Well, I took a second test this morning and the line came up faster and darker, so I feel confident enough to phone the GPs this week and get referred for booking in.

Just got back from weekend away. Two friends asked why I wasn't drinking. To one I just said I didn't feel like dealing with DS with a hangover... But I think she knew. The other I told, because I know she's currently ttc and she's been really open about it with me so I think it's only fair that I am open in return. I'm barely pregnant though really - about 4+4 I think, but unfortunately I didn't write down the exact date of my last period (because we weren't ttc at that point!). Early days, anyhow.

@Magpie24 I've heard of lots of people having pink/brown spotting in early pregnancy and everything being fine. I think it's reasonably common. Try not to worry - I know it's hard though!

@Cupcakesandlove I'm glad it all seems to be progressing well. Why are you going to cancel the scan, if you don't mind my asking?

@SlowTango I've added you.

@MeredithShepherd I've been light-headed standing up a few times in the last couple of days.

I didn't take a lot of photos of my growing bump last time round - partly because I was so paranoid that something would go wrong. This time I'd like to, and wondered if anyone could recommend an app? I'm thinking of either doing a pregnancy time lapse type thing, or one where you can overlay week-by-week photographs with captions of how many weeks pregnant you are (if that exists?!).

tinybump18 · 11/03/2018 12:10

@BadBadBeans I've been using Baby Centre for bump pics! There is a little thing called 'bumpie' and you can add a new pic each week and it will build a time lapse over time Smile

Magpie24 · 11/03/2018 12:36

@BadBadBeans thank you. Smile

sarahhh1984 · 11/03/2018 12:53

@Magpie24 I've been having brown spotting since 4 weeks, although it's mostly stopped now. I called my EPU for advice and they were very reassuring but have booked me in for an early scan to check everything's OK. It could be worth speaking to yours just to be on safe side and to give peace of mind.

Happ7Bunny · 11/03/2018 13:04

My period is normally today or tomorrow but I've had so many symptoms and "just know " in a weird way.
This is our 1st. We're later parents as this is the right time for us.
Doing pregnancy test tomorrow morning, although they say to wait 1 week after .... don't think I can wait any longer 😊.
Due 18th November by online calculator.

ImagineAllThePeople1 · 11/03/2018 13:11

Thanks @toasterstrudle that makes me feel better. Congrats to you too!

Happ7Bunny · 11/03/2018 13:16

Hi,
I'm new to the group but used to work for a health food store.
They always swore by Floradix or Floravital if Gluten intolerant.
It is a natural tonic suitable for expectant mothers and breastfeeding.
A similar one is in Red box liquid iron tonic but can't remember the name!
They help with energy levels naturally.
I hope it helps x

Cupcakesandlove · 11/03/2018 13:24

@badbadbeans
Thank you for asking, im going to cancel as ive checked online and at just 6 weeks or nearly 6 weeks depending on dates a heart beat may not be visable which of course is fine.
But..... due to the fact i dont know if im coming or going with this pregnancy i would rather wait than have two weeks of anxiety even though i know its normal.
Plus my DP has no idea and will just panic if they say no heart beat ect

Magpie24 · 11/03/2018 13:27

@sarahhh1984 thanks for your advice. No blood since this morning and it really was a blink and you'll miss it kind of spotting so I'll see how things go tomorrow. Have my checking in appointment (I think! Doctor just asked me to come back then) on Wed so will mention then.

Also unfortunately IBS symptoms are back!! Due to anxiety is my guess...

BadBadBeans · 11/03/2018 13:31

Welcome @Happ7Bunny and thanks for the info! What pregnancy test are you using that says to wait until you're one week late? All the ones I know of say that you can use them before your period is due, but that best results are from the first day of your missed period.

@Cupcakesandlove I thought it might be that - and that's very sensible. You've got to do what's going to be the best thing for you. Are you going to have a scan at 8 weeks instead then?

Cupcakesandlove · 11/03/2018 13:35

@badbadbeans
Yes i hope to if eapu will allow it, if not i will wait for my 12 week as i cant be discharged from eapu untill the midwifes take over anyway so we will see. Ill call them tomorrow and ask if they will let me
Postpone. X
