Anyone know how to deal with horrible leg cramps at night?

LostMyBaubles · 14/03/2018 08:10

Poppins i get that if ive not wee'd for a while

Kirin as soon as starts walk on it. Literally jump out of bed and walk. Eases off very quickly

Poppins2016 · 14/03/2018 10:53

Seems ok this morning (although it's still a little twingy), I'll keep an eye on it!

I'm sooooo tired...

I second the 'jumping out of bed and walking on cramp' remedy, it works.

LostMyBaubles · 14/03/2018 12:14

If you're still getting pain get a urine sample sent off at the GP. Might be brewing an infection

Katsanddogs · 14/03/2018 14:34

My scan went really well today. Baby is upside down having a good kick, even saw it picking it's nose! 😂 As soon as it came time for pictures though it ran and hid so not got a good one but never mind. Due date stays the same 20/09/2018. So relieved!

Zoey36 · 14/03/2018 18:18

I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow morning. Anyone who has done this before, what do I expect?

TheBlindspot · 14/03/2018 19:27

@Zoey36 They'll dip your urine and listen to baby's heartbeat. No bloods at 16 weeks I don't think from memory and then just go through how you're feeling, any problems/concerns etc.

Zoey36 · 15/03/2018 07:00

Thanks @TheBlindspot

LostMyBaubles · 15/03/2018 07:23

Was going to say exactly the same as blindspot
Good luck zoey

Why are my ankles swollen already 😔
My feet are sore. Feels tight on the foot that is swollen and hurts on the ankle

Zoey36 · 15/03/2018 12:31

It was fine despite the hour and a half delay!😂 It was lovely hearing that heart beat! xx

blondie1001 · 15/03/2018 13:10

I got a bit choked up hearing the heart beat at mine - I'm a big softie!

Katsanddogs · 15/03/2018 13:49

Aw that's lovely, I haven't heard mine's heartbeat yet and I'm dying to! My midwife friend said she'll repeat my ultrasound to give me a decent photo so I'm going to ask her for a listen ❤

LostMyBaubles · 15/03/2018 22:07

Had a bloody long day.
Sudden swellimg of ankle.
Q- dvt or early pre eclampsia.
Been started on aspirin and to have xray tomorrow (which i didnt think i could have) and speak to consultant about starting injections soon.

On the plus baby has been moving lots

Nixen · 16/03/2018 08:43

That’s sounds scary Lost - glad baby is moving lots to tell you they’re okay though!

I’m sitting waiting to see midwife for my 16wk appt now. Really hope they let me listen to the heartbeat!

Nixen · 16/03/2018 09:48

Home now and I did get to hear wee ones heartbeat and record it for DH 😍

MonaTheMoaner · 16/03/2018 10:31

You guys are so lucky feeling movement. I haven't had any in about a week. Still only 15+2 though so there's time. Hoping to feel it again within the next week.

No appointments for me until next Tuesday and next Saturday. I've really been in the wars with illness so I've had all week off work and used the time to study for upcoming coursework and exams but I'm really ready to feel the baby excitement now. I think it'll all become much more real at the gender scan next week.

kirinm · 16/03/2018 10:32

I've not felt anything at all which is freaking me out. I'm starting to get quite anxious about my scan on monday.

Bearsonstairs · 16/03/2018 11:42

Had my 16 week appt this morning - agree that it is amazing hearing the heartbeat again. Everything else is v straightforward - urine, blood pressure and a quick chat.

I haven’t felt any movement at all yet @kirinm and I wouldn’t worry. The midwife today was saying I might not until 20 weeks. I’m impatient though!

dingdongdigeridoo · 16/03/2018 12:07

I've not felt anything either and am 16 weeks tomorrow. I think it's quite normal at this stage.

CheekyPearl · 16/03/2018 12:07

So exciting that so many of you are feeling the baby! I've felt nothing - other than tiredness, nausea and a bad back I don't feel pregnant at all! Been given an additional scan at 16 weeks for my cyst because it's
bigger than baby.

Is anyone else finding it stressful being due on the August/September border which will effect school years? Am I bonkers for worrying about that? It will effect them so much!

blondie1001 · 16/03/2018 13:14

@CheekyPearl I totally wanted a September baby so it wasn't the youngest in the year and now I'm due 25 August - bad planning! I'm going to close my legs tightly at the end of August!

OP posts:
Nixen · 16/03/2018 13:20

I have thought about it CheekyPearl - My birthday is actually August 30th but I grew up in Scotland where we don’t have the 1st September cut off! I would like baby to come in September ideally but as long as she’s healthy I’m not going to worry too much about it - after all there’s nothing we can do about it 😁

LostMyBaubles · 16/03/2018 13:28

Thank you nixen
Honestly seems like no hcp wants to know about it. Its painful, swollen, mobility reduced so higher risk of dvt and would prefer to start the injections now to prevent it from happening.

I've got to hobble around in pain for another week as no1 wants to know.
Maternity are saying not our job.
A+e/ walk in saying see maternity.

Passed from pillar to post

Think I might miss the bloody 16week mw appt as im seeing a consultant next week

Im not too bothered about about when baby is born but would prefer aug as theres lots of birthdays in sept!

Signed up today to join this thread.

14w1d with what bears an alarming resemblance to a hyperactive potato, but am assured is a healthy baby.

Anyone else's baby too wriggly to get the NT fold measurement? Tattie would not stay still for two scans, so I have to have the quad blood test at 16 weeks instead.

dingdongdigeridoo · 16/03/2018 13:39

I’m 1st September due date which is right in the middle of my DHs birthday and our anniversary. So I’m not allowed to be early or late! DS was a couple of days early so I guess I’ll have to keep legs firmly crossed.
