September 2018 #4: 12 weeks scans and bumps appearing!

I will be Fia. My 12 week scan is a week today and if all is ok at that I'll be booking the gender scan. So excited! DP is convinced it will be a boy

Yes. We had Iona Test yesterday so presuming the results come back as low risk (not confident given my age) we should know gender next week

I'm having a 16 week private scan, but will be staying team yellow. I've had one of each so I'd like a surprise. But I'm booking a scan for my mum for ehr birthday gift and for dd. She's so excited about the baby and would love to see it. Hoping if I take mum to a scan she'll back off the craziness, as scans are the big trigger for her.

Well that was a palava! Took 2 hours to get to the hospital in the snow. Virtually everyone had cancelled so we were allowed to be late (we left 90mins early!!) Baby wouldn't behave so got sent off for 3 20 min walks 😂 but eventually got the measurements done. Dates brought forward and am now 12+5 due 7th September. I'll join Facebook now!

I'm with you on the scan tomorrow @LostMyBaubles! I'm so nervous. I won't relax until I hear the all clear from the ultrasound technician and get out of there with a photo.

Having a hard time staying relaxed. More than 24 hours to go so I'm wishing the day away until I can go to bed and wake up in the morning for it to be the day!

@Fia256 have got a gender scan booked for the same day as you last time I waited to find out until 20 weeks but I'm being impatient and also like the thought of an extra scan!

Ooh have you @Jfw82 how exciting! I can't really complain about waiting, my 20w scan is actually at 18 weeks so only about 5 and half weeks to wait anyway, but I'm super impatient

I phoned the mw this morning who said to phone the epu, she would rather I got it checked out. I phoned and the EPU lady was a bit blunt. She just said that it's normal to have bleeding and clots in early pregnancy and brown blood was nothing to worry about. I was a bit upset as it didn't really put my mind at rest and I just asked if I could phone back if it got worse. She sighed and went "Yes I suppose so". She eventually said she'd get a nurse to call me back but they close in an hour so I'm not holding my breath.

DH is at work and I can't stop worrying (and I'm not usually a worrier). Had more clots since this morning but it's still brown blood. I don't really know what else to do.

That's a bit shit @loveulotslikejellytots . I have to be honest I think I'd have asked to speak to someone else, who would take me seriously. She was really a bit rude!

Can you call back?

I know she obviously deals with people all day phoning for the same thing but she made me feel like I was wasting their time. I'll try and phone now, they close soon.

Hello everyone!

Got my scan date through today, finally!13/3 so i will be 12+6 by my dates 😊 DH is not happy it is almost 2 weeks away. He has no patience.

@loveulotslikejellytots my EPU is the same. 2 years ago i had an ectopic that was very rudely misdiagnosed as a miscarriage due to a faulty pregnancy test they did. My 5 positives apparently didn't matter. She made me feel like i made it up. Anyway it was diagnosed 3 weeks later.

When i went for my midwife appt last week my hosp notes say Sept-miscarriage, October- ectopic. I was actually thinking of asking to have my notes changed as that is wrong but i don't know if you can do that.

Oh that’s awful loveulotslikejellytots. Maybe wait a few hours til she’s off shift and call again? Nobody should make you feel like an inconvenience for being worried. That’s what the EPU is there for!

@Nixen Good to know! This might mean I can convince my husband at that price 😉 He's so tight and doesn't like spending money. He's a guy though and doesn't get it.

@loveulotslikejellytots That woman sounds horrible and has no people skills by the sounds of it. How can she not realise you're worried sick. Hope you've managed to speak to someone else.
