Good idea Ria, all together now....

ARSE!!!!!

I'm with you on the soft toys front BadZ, there are limits to the number of soft toys any child needs, they don't get into them for ages, and half the ones you're given aren't appropriate for babies anyway. I've come to the conclusion that people buy them because they'd like to have one themselves and because they're just an easily available no-brainer baby gift. Sometimes suspect other parents of recycling too. Have you considered that?

Alternatively you could try making one of these

riabutterflew · 04/05/2007 10:29

I have achieved - toast and a cup of tea!
But I have 45 minutes before pgroup pickup so I am going to get my cowboy hat and enter the temple of doom.. If I'm not back by teatime please send very attractive young man to rescue me...

riabutterflew · 04/05/2007 10:31

no one will hear me shouting "arse" up there...

sputnik · 04/05/2007 10:31

Hmm I scored 3.5 out of 5 there.
Just add at the bottom
"But I'm pregnant ffs"
They should add, "Do you feel like shouting ARSE in the street?"

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 10:35

Don't worry ria, I have achieved toasted muffin, cup of tea and milka!

Wow, crazy chair sputnik! My dd would destroy that within 5 mins! When is your appt? Hope you can be up and about soon.

I remember doing one of those after dd was born daisy. They said I was on the verge of PND because I answered yes to some of the questions. Of course I used to feel overwhelmed and would sometimes cry for no reason, I'd just had a bloody baby! Durh! I knew for a fact that I was nowhere near having PND!

Daisybump · 04/05/2007 10:36

I'm definately on 5 out of 5....6 if you add in the arse question

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 10:37

Me too, esp the feeling irritated by other people question. Oh and the lacking in energy and enthusiasm one!

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 10:40

Good luck daisy! If I went in the kitchen now I would just sit on the floor and eat!

Morning - am in shock at the grey sky this morning. Should be the perfect impetus to get stuck into the housework but...

Thanks for the link re SPD - having read up, think I now know why I'm in such agony getting out of bed!

Sputnik - really sorry to hear things are tough for you. Being immobilised always sounds so great until you actually have to do it... My sis had triplets & was in hosp from 23 wks until she had them at 30 wks. Think she nearly lost her mind, so good to see you've kept your SOH. Keep your chin & your chocolate intake up!

Had a hilarious phone message from my crap comm MW yesterday. Just wanted to find out why I hadn't come in for an appt she had me scheduled for - IN FEBRUARY. Given that she hasn't been in touch since 24 Jan & never made any appt for Feb, am pretty irritated. Last conversation I had with her, she phoned to ask me what my triple test results were - this was a week after I'd had the results of amnio, having gone through all that trauma. Obviously didn't occur to her to perhaps phone the hospital & find out BEFORE ringing me? Thank God, the hosp staff are so brilliant. Will do a bit of deep breathing & calm thinking before I phone s**t for brains back to confirm (again) that she is sacked....

Daisybump · 04/05/2007 11:03

LOL Holly...at least I've managed to put the food in the fridge and not left it all over the floor

But then again, the state of my floor, I wouldn't want to

I've not actually made it to the kitchedn yet...I've been looking at handbags on ebay...new handbag, a guaranteed winner in the cheering up stakes IMHO...and settin up my own ebay account as DH is fed up getting e-mails about watches on breast pumps, tens machines, changing tables etc etc etc

Seansgirl · 04/05/2007 11:04

Sputnik, bet you can't wait to be back at home, hb is vile, esp. not helped if you can't control your food what/when. My DPs are flying over to Italy on wednesday for 10 days and have been telling me that its been pouring down. My geography and memory is appalling but I have a feeling they will be in your region. So I'm sending to your part of the world for you all. Wheres Holly shes pretty good at this voodoo weather thing!

westcoaster · 04/05/2007 11:04

Is it bad that I was 6/6 before I was pg??

Wish me luck - am off to tackle h/work before baby is born coughing up furballs from all the cat hair...

Seansgirl · 04/05/2007 11:06

Oh and don't mention bloody soft toys I really hate them and DD has got so many - she calls them her 'people' and heaven forbid I put them away anywhere!

Seansgirl · 04/05/2007 11:07

No think its perfectly normal westcoaster!

LOL at the furballs - that was me beore DD arrived also had the added stress of trying to get rid of flea infestation [shudder]

foxybrown · 04/05/2007 11:11

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Daisybump · 04/05/2007 11:12

PMSL at furballs westcoaster ...our cat died last October and we're still finding cat hairs everywhere!!

Just been looking at a bag on ebay described as Vintage...from the 1980's FFS.

Does that mean I'm vintage as the 80's were my formative years??

sputnik · 04/05/2007 11:13

Have cheered up a bit now, thanks. Amazing what a bit of arse shouting can do
Weather is supposed to improve from tomorrow, hope so as we're invited to friend's daughter's party and it's outdoors. I'm near Rome, where are your DP's headed SG?

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 11:13

I'm wafting for you sputnik and sg's parents! Can someone do some wafting for me please? It's bloody miserable here! At least it's not raining (yet)!

Handbags depress me daisy! I love handbags, but because of changing bags I've not really used one for 2 years. Dp bought me a wonderful Radley bag the Christmas before DD was born and I've not really used it. I just like to get it out and look at it sometimes!

Daisybump · 04/05/2007 11:16

DS has got his boys that he has to have in bed with him...including (but not limited to) 3 identical leopards called Charlie 1, Charlie 2 and Emergency Charlie.....(Charlie 2 and Emergency Charlie bought as back ups....but he loves them all)

Foxy

Gawd...my gerbils are sitting in their foodbowl staring at me...give them another minute and they'll start rattling it against the bars to get my attention!

mytwocents · 04/05/2007 11:17

ARSE!!!!!

Ahh, thats better.

Westcoaster, can't believe your crap mw! I hope you never have to deal with her again. I watched panorama last night, dp was in tears but I kept trying to balance the argument and be positive - prob to stop myself panicking!- I also made him promise me that if I'm stuck in a corridor to go and steal lots of pillows and blankets and we 'll make a birthing nest on the floor.

It's not looking good for our local hospital, not only was it the subject of the last undercover panorama about cleanliness and mrsa but ALL of the girls in my nct class who've had the tour are going somewhere else or having a hb....hmmmmmm

So, 5 pieces of chocolate shortbread later and my heartburn is FIRE up my throat!!!
