Well done to your DS, they do say that creative geniusies (sp?) often have strong personalities, perhaps he is a budding author waiting to happen

justbeme · 03/05/2007 13:50

oh yes and LO has moved rom head down to transverse - its movements should be slowing down now according to all the blurb - but God is it a wriggler!!

Had 1st antenatal calss last night - only 4 couples turned up, but they all seemed pretty normal. Mind you the MW did most of the talking and I kept hearing my DP yawning!! Quite abit seemed to have changed in the 12 yrs since I had my daughter, so glad i went.

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 13:52

Mine too Ria...I'm blaming water retention of the fingers...and brain

Well done your DS...its nice when they reward you with warm fuzzy proud as punch parental moments. I've written down the words to DS's song from yesterday...and its no worse than a lot of the shite that is in the charts these days (she says in best victor Meldrew stylee)

Just had to make a wee small comment on a thread whch was alluding to yesterday's contentious thread of the day Couldn't help myself as we were being accused of ignoring a request to change the title as some might find it offensive...it needing defending as there was no such request, but I am not getting involved any further.

westcoaster · 03/05/2007 14:05

Seansgirl - yup, the ginger minger is still in sight, worse luck. Bump is still breech so I think she's quite high up - am expecting huge 'thunk' any day now as she turns round.... Incidentally, CF - as in a bit 'jowly' but will stop now before I frighten the horses. Not sure what to call my area now anyway - apparently fanjo is not 'right on' enough for some elsewhere on here....!

DKMA - can understand their comment about infection risk with byobp but not sure about the floor loading. I sincerely hope that any building I'm in is built with some kind of allowances for floor loading. Having said that - am not sure what a full pool would weigh but if they have a perm birthing pool elsewhere in the building, what's the difference??

riabutterflew · 03/05/2007 14:08

I am too scared to even look, daisy. I briefly visited one of Hollys links this morning and thought - NO!

I thought we all had good reason to be on here being mere "antenatalers" (that is never a real word?) and being on leave and obviously having nothing better to do, but at least (most of the time - ex-contents of my cupboards excluded from this generalisation) there is a point to our conversations - even if it is just personal amusement

I like my virtual life, it is safer than RL...

riabutterflew · 03/05/2007 14:10

Would have thought that this thread title had more scope for being offensive as those who are offended can think up whatever they like to fill in the ellipses and that might actually be far worse than what we might have put (and not as entertaining.)

Oooh, car door - must go and look busy. DH home!

juliewoolie · 03/05/2007 14:18

Just popping in to say hi am due in May and until today it was a defo May babe as I was to have a cs. But just been told I am going natural so I reckon I might be joining you lot in JUne.

BTW very funny yesterday lordy dont people get their knickers in a twist, well done for sticking up for yourselves.

foxybrown · 03/05/2007 14:23

Hi all, been busy on here again!

Seansgirl - no worries with direct line re homebirth, email me anytime, and I'll give you my number too.
DKMA - can I stick my twopence worth in? You need some clearer advice on your pelvis - push for some more info. You can prepare for both a HB and a hospital birth and transfer at anytime if you want to, not only if you need to. You can do a good bit of your labour at home and then go in and deliver and all being well you can go straight home from delivery suite. I wouldn't recommend post-labour ward for anyone, thoroughly depressing.

Good point well made Daisybump re the other thread. best ignore them IMO. If they have nothing more to worry about then they can shag off.

westcoaster · 03/05/2007 14:26

riabf - lol at your cupboard clearing. Am v impressed at your industry (nesting?????) I'm such a slattern that I had to wear non pg clothes to go out this morning as nothing else was clean... (so attractive) Should be washing, ironing & cleaning right now, but am having too much fun trying to resist going on those 'other' threads for a barney.

Seansgirl · 03/05/2007 14:31

Foxy

Hi Juliewoolie! welocme to the mad house! Am due at the end of June so could well be gate crashing July in due course.........

ROFL Westcoaster! Not frightening me at all - who cares what you call it? Lucky that you can still see it - I have lost sight of mine! But would imagine the CF description would be apt!!

Right, better get off here need to pop to Tesgrot (tescos - I have a love/hate relationship with) and then off into garden have promised DD she can take her easel and paints outside!

Seansgirl · 03/05/2007 14:33

Resist WC!! Resist! Rise above it!

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 14:39

Hey Foxy ...we thought you meant it yesterday....

I've just made another wee small comment to AitchTwoOh and Tutter...so hopefully that will be the end of it. I'm just not going to look any more, but I felt that it would have looked churlish if i didn't respond.....I've promised we'll be a bit more thoughtful in future...I hope that's OK?

Had MW appointment and all is well and OK...nothing dodgy in the old wee and bub seems fine . she did say that in her experience not many women go over their dates when the weather is hot....she hasn't any left over fom April and has had four May ones already! Bring it on now that's what I say.....I'll be 25 weeks on Sunday and now feel like I'm ready!

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 14:42

Sorry Juliewooly...didn't mean to ignore your post. Welcome to the madhouse .

When are you due....feel free to add yourself to the stats list...it's kicking about on here somewhere.

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 14:44

time to hang the washing out before the school waddle

westcoaster · 03/05/2007 14:51

Daisy - lovely post on the other thread. Well said, that woman! Would still have been nice to receive an apology for some of the stuff said intentionally about our being bad mothers etc but hey ho. Will continue to bit edge of desk and resist going back on.

Welcome Juliewooly - get ready to keep up - posting rate on here is fierce!

westcoaster · 03/05/2007 14:52

Oops - of course, I'm biting the edge of the desk, not 'bitting' it....

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 14:54

Time to draw a line and move on I think!!

Right..school run, or I will be a bad mother, I've already forgotten him once this week

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 15:01

Oooooh...just got my shorts from vertbaudet......now I can be cool and fresh in this lovelty weather and get a bit of colour on the old pins and I might just get some wear out of them before I pop!!

notsolilKel · 03/05/2007 15:02

Oooh just baked a cake. Would feel smug if it weren't for true motive which is of course, getting to eat it... yum yum...

DKMAFME, I'd defo push for the pool in hospital! Sounds like you just reached someone with a crap answer they can't defend. Maybe you can speak to someone else (lead mw? your gp?). Or is there another hospital in your area? Take advantage of our professional knowledge (not mine it's useless, unless you're into anti-money-laundering). Yep. Thought not

Juliewoolie - welcome! I'm due in June but planned section in May, erm, I mean this month (guess I should start referring to it that way). Just curious why you were "told" you're going natural now, instead of section? Surely you got a choice in the matter?

riabutterflew · 03/05/2007 16:26

westcoaster - it's not nesting (I hope, though my Bh are crippling this afternoon) just the thoughts of "if anything happened now and my Mum had to come round to help out with the boys..." - Holy Shit - it would not be a restful experience. Think I might have let things slide...

foxybrown · 03/05/2007 16:36

Hi Julie, sorry not ignoring you either - welcome. just having a crap day.

Good AN appt this morning, baby measuring 33cm - given I was worried that she'd only grown 1cm in 7 weeks, am very relieved!

well done on your very diplomatic post Daisy. Its a shame its gone on another day - its just a scab being picked out now.

At least the 'hairy fanjo' thread lit up my day! Asur really did make me piss my twisted knickers!

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 18:33

Where has everyone gone?????

Been offline...again. realised that my broadband connection has usually given up the ghost when I get back from picking up DS....and comes back on around now..... interesting...all those kids coming home from school and hitting the internet to help with homework, or chatting to the mates that they just left in the playground!

Engineer is coming on Monday to fix it...yay...and I arranged it for between four and seven so he can see just how bad it is.

Cheers Foxy et all for your comments, but I'm now not sure whether or not I'm having the piss taken out of me....i've said my bit, its over with and I'm gonna avoid all other threads apart from this one and my pg after mc thread....if they think I'm still worth talking to that is.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 03/05/2007 18:47

Ahhhhh
Just finished pumping up my birthing ball thingie!
Wow it's comfy... I like it.... think it needs more air tho - it's bit floppy.
I think they should have ears on or something - like a sacehopper - so I could have a bounce around the house on it!!!
Don't worry about those other threads Daisy - like you say - stick on here - we know were alright!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 03/05/2007 18:47

durr - I meant spacehopper!!!

Daisybump · 03/05/2007 19:02

I dug my ball out of the attic at the weekend DKMA and have had a bit of a bounce through the week, but as I can't do my knitting on it and the keyboard keeps slipping of what's left of my lap I've not used it as much as I should....but it does feel comfy and stops me from slouching and aggravating my sacro-iliac joint so it will be used more....and it's definately coming to the hospital...if it doesn't overload the floor that is

So much for my DH being great and super....He's just phoned to say he's got to do a print pass tomorrow night so probably won't be home until the wee small hours of Saturday morning....which means he'll either want to sleep away half of Saturday...or will be so grumpy he won't be worth talking to. Bit about it, but hey what can you do.
