thenks RB - i've got a strange phobia to plastic backed bibs though just used fabric ones on my LO's best with a stud though not velcro - nasty stuff!!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:30

Right, let's find some trade fairs and gatecrash them! I want a purple one, not for myself, but to sell!!

I love these bibs for dribbly babies. They are soo pretty and don't ruin outfits!!

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 22:31

derlor - BadZelda's comments earlier today on my nickname:

''
Hello Rabbitbreath...mind if I ask why the nickname, or does it just reflect a propensity for verbals?

''

hahaha - I do talk a hell of a lot, but that's not the reason for the name - it's just cute I guess - my real name is Anel, so not related at all to a rabbit or rabbit's breath!!

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:35

Holly i like those type of bibs - not scared of them!!!!!
RB i feel very boring with my name wish i'd put more thought into it (dreams.......i could have been SO exotic.......)

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 22:37

derlor - what is your phobia about plastic backed bibs? I think they are great as wetness don't go through to the clothes, but hey, I am a first time mom-to-be so I have no clue yet about how these things work! Or is it just a phobia like my husband have for cotton wool or is there a specific reason?

Holly, the BabyJacks bibs are adorable - will see if anybody is selling new ones on E-bay!! Do they have a waterproof backing or not as I see you can use them on both sides? It doesn't say anything about plastic backing in the description?

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 22:39

you don't have to give me your real name, but what does derlor stand for?

it sounds German

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:41

don't know really i just find them icky - and kind of clinical - they remind me of plastic aprons i used to have to wear when i worked on the wards in hospital - icky!!!
double layered cotton ones are MUCH nicer and available everywhere - Next, Boots, Asda etc......

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:42

I don't like plastic backed bibs either. They get a bit sweaty and yucky around the neck. The Kaloo bibs are quite thick velour and cotton and are reversible, which is useful! They have got ties, which can be tricky, but I got used to them.

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:45

ROFL - german, no my love i'm Scottish through and through Derlor is the 1st part of my DH's name (DER) and the 1st part of my name (LOR)
told you it wasn't exotic!!!
also on the bibs i HATE the crinkly noise they make when you wipe a babies face - (shivers at the thought) - think i might need some professional help actually - never realised i was so weird!!!!

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:47

oh DH just called from the kebab shop - he offered to bring me chips and cheese and i said no!!!!!!!! WTF - i'm going MAD.

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:49

You said no to chips and cheese??? WTF!! I would kill for some right now, smothered in mayo and ketchup...mmmmm!!

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:52

I KNOW!!!!!!!
he just pulled up - wonder of he'd go back out?????
he's been working since 0730 this morning and thats him just him home - do you think i'd be pushing my luck??????
well better go and chat to him - back tomorrow - Holly i'll dream of pooie hair clips for your LO.
night x

Daisybump · 01/05/2007 22:53

Holly....you're still here...poor Derlor was worried she ahd offended you mightily....I see form your posts that DD is OK so far.....big poos to you for tomorrow then!!!

Thought everyone would be in bed...it's been a right old chat fest on here today....not keen myself on plastic backed bibs...had some with DS and he ended up with a fungal infection under his chin as I had to keep a bib on him at all times on account of previously mentioned projectile vomitimg. a muslin square folded in half diagonally also did a wonderful job, if not very picturesque...

mmmmm....chips and cheese....wish I had some of those...

Daisybump · 01/05/2007 22:55

Gah my spelling....it's getting worse, brain turning to big mass of wobbly jelly...or is it the chat room equivalent of talking too quickly?

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:55

Hi daisy! How the devil are you?! My dp is in Leeds atm, but wouldn't take me with him ! I wanted to see you and mystic Red Ranger! The selfish twunt! How are your BHs? Have they settled completely?

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:57

Night derlor!! Sleep well xx

Daisybump · 01/05/2007 23:00

Sort of...still getting them but generally not painful. I think I was very badly dehydrated and since Thursday have quaffed about 3 lites of water a day and things have calmed down. Haven't drunk as much today and been a bit crampy this evening.....so its a no-brainer really.

hope this LO does come early though as I'm getting bloody bored with this now. Can't sleep for more than about 1.5 hours at a time and wake up feeling achey all over. Physio suggested sleeping on a folded over 13 tog duvet.....so DH being despatched back into the loft tomorrow to get our winter one out....

What does your DP do....he travels a lot!

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 23:03

I quickly had a shower and missed derlor!

re bibs - sounds scary- the fungal infection and stuff - I haven't thought about all of that!! I will invest in some cotton ones too!

Sleep tight Holly and Daisybump!

Daisybump · 01/05/2007 23:03

Off to bed now......so much for not being on here today...maybe tomorrow I can resist. I'll need to put some of my ironing on top of and in front of the pc....

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 23:05

Well, he started a new job a couple of months ago and is having to go on loads of training courses etc. He was in Bristol yesterday and now is in Leeds. I just want him to come home, I'm lonely ! Your dh is away a lot as well isn't he? How do you cope?
Glad your BHs have calmed down.
Sleep well everyone, I'm going to make myself a Horlicks and watch tv in bed!

Daisybump · 01/05/2007 23:09

Quick last post.....after the emotional roller coaster that was my first trimester, we were both glad of the break tbh.....but I was effectively a single mum with DS for three years before we married and I moved here, so back to what I know really. Our relationship is much improved for a bit of apartness......and I get the bed all to myself Monday to Thursday

BadZelda · 02/05/2007 07:49

Those bibs sound really expensive - or I'm just a cheapskate. The best ones I found were in Dunnes Stores in Dublin; they generally had lots of lovely things for kids and really reasonably priced - but I won't be in Dublin for quite a while I shouldn't think. Maybe can get my granny to get some if she ever speaks to me again...

BadZelda · 02/05/2007 08:01

And good morning! Trust you all slept well? I didn't, particularly, and now have to go to work and use my brain:bugger!

bumperlicious · 02/05/2007 08:21

Morning all, another night being woken up by BHs! Oh the joys of being pg. Good news is today I am going for my spa day! Have a mother-to-be massage, then pg yoga with my yoga teacher who happens to work at the spa, lunch, then a pedicure (I need that, I just can't seem to reach my feet any more!) and a facial - v excited!

Debating whether or not to get a bikini wax before labour, what do you think? I actually have one of those bikini line trimmers (like clippers but for your fanjo) and DH usually does it! He's such a fag hag! Yesterday I got him to take my nail polish off my toes, I get him to put my moisturiser on my legs etc coz i am too lazy and he likes any excuse to touch me! And when I could still fit into my skinny jeans he used to have to scrunch up my jeans and put my boots on for me!

bumperlicious · 02/05/2007 08:22

Sorry, morning BZ! Crap going to work when you've not slept well isn't it? When do you finish?
