Funny thing is I was going to say DON'T DO IT too seansgirl. You get tumbleweed growing under the sofa etc. The only time laminate is nice is a)when it's been freshly cleaned and b)when spills/puke occur and can be easily wipted up instead of shampooing carpet!

H&A & derlor - hope your LOs are both ok. (Forbidden) hugs and kisses to them both! (That thread was scary but interesting, but no need to go there when we are all happy here ).

I have achy back and am worried that my sciatica will reappear at any minute. claire74 - have you looked for any exercises on t'internet? I had some my physio gave me last year but don't know if I can do them when PG. I have a pilates DVD on the shelf (I've used it once...) I think we have to keep mobile and I have baths. (Obviously or I would smell!)

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 22:02

I agree with SG, a bed guard is pretty handy. Especially as my DD fell out of my bed the other night, perhaps I should put one on there too until I can be arsed to sort out her sleeping!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 22:03

I'm off to bed, night all xx

Twiga · 01/05/2007 22:04

BZ - another pos story, great! We've gone for the sleepover option on dd's bed - it's a divan style but instead of the base being hollow with storage it's sprung the same as the mattress so if you take mattress off can be used as a temp guest bed. We figured this would help if one of us needed to sleep through if she was ill etc.

Here's a link to what we picked - dd's first bed

justbeme · 01/05/2007 22:05

Oh and laminate is good for doggy/potty training!
Well - im going now - (been on internet for HOURS!)
Got my 1st AN class tomorrow and DP IS coming - I'll let you know how it went!!

I like bedguards.

Have been to the tip (again - with contents of shed) today. I sorted two huge bags of stuff for the charity shop and feel like I hav achieved nothing! There is very little crossing-off on my list!

DH is going back to work a day early (he says it is because of Bank Holiday preparations, but listening to him bicker with the boys today I do wonder). Suppose then I will be able to get on with the jobs I like to do that he thinks are weird and unneccessary. I'm sure we'll be ready in time. I lied though, I'm due 17/06 not 19th. Sorry.

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:09

I am not even going to attempt to put my dd in a bed yet and she is 2 in 3 weeks (YIKES!!)! I've only just got her into a cot, so I don't want to disrupt the good thing we've got going now. I think I'll put her in a bed once LO goes in his own room (or until she can climb out of her cot)!

derlor! Can't believe you thought you'd offended me! You are great! P.S. sorry to have you put on your HV hat this late, but how does one train as a BFing counsellor? Do I just mention it to my HV? I would love to help other women as I had such difficulties to start with and got myself into a right state. I got through it though and want to help to reassure people they can too!

BadZelda · 01/05/2007 22:09

Night all

Twiga · 01/05/2007 22:10

BZ, looks nice and handy that it starts off smaller too. Just noticed my link doesn't store the finished choice - basically, orange headboard and base, duck playpal and feet with the sleepover option. Dd's room is done in a jungle theme and is muted yellow and orange, so should fit in well.

Better head too, dh has finished DIYing it for the night and bought cups of tea in, then it's off to the land of nod - about 4 hours overdue!

riabutterflew · 01/05/2007 22:12

Think I will call it a day. Can't be arsed to try and get into La Redoute account either. Maybe tomorrow.

Am gutted - scary spice has called her lo Angel Iris - it's MY name. Is that a good enough reason to go off it?
How superficial I am.

Night all, will not be here much tomorrow either as DH still at home and will look at me in that way if I seem to be skiving. (though it's ok for him to watch cartoons with the boys while I wash up and iron, and Stargate while I do other stuff.

Might check in before bed...just can't keep away!

riabutterflew · 01/05/2007 22:13

not angel.

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:18

It seems that every time I bloody come on today everyone else buggers off!! I am very and have no-one to talk to now [sobs silently into horlicks]!!

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:19

night all
Holly i'm not sure how or if you can train as a BF counsellor if you are not a nurse/midwife - i'll find out for you tomorrow via a workmate of mine who is one (took her 4 years part time to train by BTW!!!!) and get back to you

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:20

oh Holly i'm still here was just saying goodnight to all the lightweights!!!!!
my DH on the way home from work so i'm waiting up for him - think he still 1/2 hour away

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 22:21

notsolilKel - I bought 6 of the Silly Billyz bibs and am bidding on another 6 of them on E-bay - they are great and works out about £2.50 each which I guess is worth it with the push buttons (and being hard to obtain locally!!!!) Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!!!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:22

Goodnight derlor, thanks for that! I was going to look into training as a doula once LO is a bit older, so I think it would tie in quite nicely together. I have considered MW training as I have the right A-levels, but it seems like serious stress and really hard to get into atm. Thanks again, sleep well [lonely emoticon]!

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:22

oh silly billyz bibs?? what are they?

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 22:22

and I am still here Holly!!!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:22

Oh good derlor, thought you were leaving !!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:23

Hi RB [waves]!!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 22:24

Wow derlor, check this out!! WTF do you get lilac ones from I wonder!

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:25

just us 3 then - rabbitbreath you've probably ben asked already but why the name do you eat a lot of rabbits????

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 22:26

derlor - I asked earlier about bibs and was given some great advice by not...

''silly billyz bibs which have waterproof backing that won't change shape in a tumble dryer and fleece front. Kiddicare usually have a limited selection at lower prices too but the NZ site ships very fast and has the full colour spectrum...
''

have a look at this

derlor · 01/05/2007 22:27
