Second what's been said Derlor....I'm sure Holly isn't cross with you....if someone was on here talking about cracks appearing in the walls of their house I'd give a professional opinion as well (I'm a structural engineer), and I'd hope for sound advice if I was in crisis....as I have been before . and I'm sure Alice is OK and HandA is currently just doing the bedtime routine or is on route to her mum's and will be back soon.

How is you LO.......my DS is always covered in bruises and I'm surprised school haven't commented already, but at your MIL....isn't the point of babysitting to know where and what they're up to??? I hope she has apologised profusely to you.

I always miss these things when they are at their height bumper.....have you had the guts to have your say??

derlor · 01/05/2007 20:28

notsolilKel - what do you mean by birth announcement? like in the local paper? - excuse me for being thick!!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 20:30

I read that thread yesterday, and find it as frustrating as any BF/weaning thread I've been on.

I'm just glad I've got this one to retreat back to

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 20:32

oh, the do them in the Times.

I sent cards first time - had everything written out so only had to do the finer details.

The great thing about texting is that whatever time of the day or night, you can let people know - and its generally news that they don't mind being woken up for (I think people are quite pleased to be one of the lucky ones to hear it straight away) or have waiting for them in the morning. I'll text when my LOs born. After I've posted on here, of course

justbeme · 01/05/2007 20:34

Evening all!
Just got up from the Computer to check on DP who is watching the football [yawn] - in his excitement to get in the house - he'd only left the front door wide open for the last half hour - with our car keys on display and my handbag right there!! aghhhh - Just as well I live in a quiet area!!

Hello to all the newbies

Has anyone else had a really tight and very sensitive feeling on and around their tummybutton? Mine today felt like it was going to burst open and stung when i touched it. Im slavering it with cream now!!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 20:37

not sure about the stinging JBM, but yes, very sensitive - because its completely inside out now. Perhaps its just stinging because its stretching? Cream is probably a good idea.

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 20:40

LG&T's baby has just gone head down (her waters went earlier). Just goes to show, they can turn at the last minute!

derlor · 01/05/2007 20:41

yikes never had that sensation - i've got an inny though so mine has not popped out like some do. has yours popped out?

notsolilKel · 01/05/2007 20:43

by birth announcements I meant a sweet printed card saying something like 'our delightful baby was born on Blah Blah weighing Blah Blah and measuring 54cm etc etc' with picture.

Like these for example

Twiga · 01/05/2007 20:43

Just popping in to say hi! Keeping not too bad but spd is pretty chronic at the moment and chances of getting a physio referal before the baby arrives are small thanks to useless mw. Don't remember feeling fed up at this stage last time but keeping up with a lively toddler, feeling massive and chronically tired is making me wish for a quick delivery! Have another scan in a fortnight to look at baby's kidneys again - if still inconclusive they'll scan baby after birth. House up-side down as have just had new kitchen fitted and the mess is driving me mad, feels like there is so much to do and like we'll never be straight in time for this baby arriving. Had a lovely 4d scan experience last week - came home with a 10min dvd which we've edited down to get rid of the fuzzy bits and have a great view of baby's face, watching fingers being sucked and even a smile. Really is amazing how much you can see.

Hope everyone is keeping ok - not long now!

derlor · 01/05/2007 20:46

oh they are lovely i've never seen anything like that being sent before.
we just called or texted everyone but did send very similar cards to those for saying thank you for gifts that we made ourselves with photo and fill name etc on it.

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 20:48

Phew Twiga! hopeyou are OK and not too stressed out!

Anyone else watching "How to look good naked"? Thoroughly depressing, although the subject looks amazing after her transformation!

Was going to epilate and fake tan tonight, but have lost the will!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 20:50

I bought a load of photo postcards from Snappy Snaps last time. Never got round to using them, but a good idea in theory I thought.

Daisybump · 01/05/2007 20:51

mine got a bit twingy and stingy a few weeks ago, but then again I kept on prodding it, so not sure if that made it worse or not. Mine is v deep innie and didn't pop last time...and hasn't yet, but I suppose there's still time

Lilkel...we were gonna do something ourselves on the compooter with a photo (with my new digital camera wot I bought today )....mainly for all the aging rellies that don't have phone/e-mail etc. can't see the point of spending good money to have it done professionally, but I'm a mean scot so....

hi Twiga... I remember you from a while back...glad you are OK Are you on the stats list?...I had a quick look, but didn't see your name. there's one further down this thread...feel free to copy, paste and add yourself.

derlor · 01/05/2007 20:52

this website does nice ones too - very easy to use.

derlor · 01/05/2007 20:58

Hi Twiga, hope you and the LO keep well - your scan sounds amazing especially geting a dvd - lovely.
Foxy not watching that programme - sounds way too depressing - don't think i've looked good naked since i was 18!!!

Twiga · 01/05/2007 21:00

Have added myself to the bottem. Sorry haven't been posting, just so flippin tired and dd is going through a mega clingy phase so only time I get much peace is when she's sleeping - bless, she has just realised in the last couple of weeks about the baby and won't let me out of her sight. I think it's somewhere between wanting to look after mummy as I've noticeably slowed down and some insecurity about what it all means. By the time she's in bed at 7pm I just want to crash myself and I've been sleeping in the afternoons when she does recently too. Her big bed arrives tomorrow - hoping the transition will go smoothly. Don't plan to move her into it until the weekend when dh is around to help out with any probs - we've bought a silent night first bed for her, it's very cute and I'm hoping that will help with the change.

Oh fucking hell, she's just done a catwalk in lingerie.

And I'm teary. Biggest saddo award for the night to me, please.

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 21:01

How old is she Twiga?

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 21:04

re that other thread where one lady called MN shit and all the posters full of it - I read it last night and thought - oh no! This is not the place I want to be, but today I found this amazing thread and I think everybody has been so nice - I got a lot of welcomes and the odd 'I checked you out and you are for real and new' ones - hahahaa - thanks!

My tummy button popped out about 2 weeks ago and my DH rolled around laughing (mostly because he knows it would bother me!)

Speaking of DH - he has just prepared us a lovely dinner - Mediterranean chicken with roasted veg and rice - so now my mouth is watering!!! Please excuse me .....

justbeme · 01/05/2007 21:13

Yes my tummy button has popped - it did a while back and now its gone really flat with sort of a circle around it!!
Think of me tonight and the rest of the week girlies, my DP and the plumber have now robbed me of my upstairs loo - I just hope I remember and dont walk into the bathroom in the middle of the night and end up legs in the air on the floor!!

Daisybump · 01/05/2007 21:14

I don't think I've ever looked good naked.......well maybe for about one week when I was 23...my boobs went from too pert to be sexy to "how droopy are those puppies?" in a remarkably short space of time..

Foxy..I've had an emotional one today as well....phoned DH and bawled at him for 10 mins, then slept for 2.5 hours and felt much better afterwards....couldn't really say why I'd been crying though

Gotta be off, my mate is popping over on her way home from college...so best put kettle on. She has the annoying habit of overstaying her welcome, so I've already told her that I will be booting her out at 10......

Seansgirl · 01/05/2007 21:23

I just caught the last few minutes of how to look good naked - I am so impressed I think she looks fab! Not sure how old - early 30s? I nearly applied to be on the series I loved the first one so much!

Oh god! Just checked out that thread....... way way scary, I love being on this thread, and couldn't be bothered with anything like that if we weren't here IYSWIM

Derlor - I'll second, third, fourth whatever it is what everyone else said sure holly not offended - you are only looking out for her! If it were me I'd pleased that you took the time....

claire74 · 01/05/2007 21:25

My god can you lot chat!

Thank you for the warm welcome. I had to go out pretty much straight after I posted this afternoon, and totally know what you mean bumperlicious about don't leave the computer for longer than an hour!

Kittykit I'm like you, hoping this baby out stays its welcome, due to decorating - we're having our bedroom and shower room, completely pulled apart and re-done, and sleeping in what will be the nursery at the mo, hoping it will be finished by end of may but workmen keep cancelling on us ..Grrr.

Rabbitbreath - i'll be sure to ask all women I bump into in the labour ward if they're Rabbitbreath, just in case we go in at the same time - as I'll be high as a kite on gas and air I will hopefully be forgiven!

Seansgirl · 01/05/2007 21:30

Hello again Claire! Like you and KittyKit we have entered into mad house decorating - currently having sitting room done, and have yet to order furniture, DH has yet to start dinning room which is to be a family room and we are having a load of work in the garden to make it more child friendly. My DM says we are mad and thats worrying coming from her as usually she would be saying "no, you'll fine.. stop fussing and get on with it!"
