I went to book a meeting with my boss to tell her. She's no availability for 4 weeks and isn't in the office for 2. It's not the kind of news to tell someone over email!!

CuppaSarah · 06/02/2018 14:03

I'm so sorry intelligent really sorry to hear this. I hope you have lots of support around you.

Sorry so many of us are having crap days. Hopefully once we get out this horrible first trimester things will be a bit more positive! At least less sicky.

MonaTheMoaner · 06/02/2018 14:32

@Namechangedtoscream It can't wait 4 weeks, can it? Any way to go through HR?

RedRobin7 · 06/02/2018 17:50

So sorry @intelligentPutty Thanks

RedRobin7 · 06/02/2018 17:51

My spotting has stopped, no more since yesterday. All afternoon I've had a sharp pain around my public bone. Should I be worried? I had this pain for about 10 mins the day before I tested positive but this has been going on for several hours now. Ugh don't want to keep worrying 😔 still 11 days until my 8 week scan.

Roeslein · 06/02/2018 18:16

When are the first trimester symptoms supposed to subside? I'm almost 10 weeks and I just realised I haven't felt sick at all this week. I wasn't really sick a lot to start with, but had a couple of days each week starting from week 6 when I would basically feel badly hungover all day. For the past few days I haven't had any symptoms really, except for my digestion being slower than usual. I just feel normal. Even my boobs aren't as sore. I just started a new job so have been busy and hadn't realised until today. (On the plus side, another girl working for my boss who came back from mat leave two weeks ago and used to be "external" just got a permanent contract, which is nice.)

I also thought my tummy would be a little bit bigger by now (obviously not yet visible to others, but that I would be able to notice something when I stand in front of the mirror in my underwear) but my trousers / jeans still fit with room to spare. There's a little bit of bloating, but no more than at 5-6 weeks and I'm quite short and skinny so there's nowhere for it to go really.

I had an early scan two weeks ago and everything looked good (heartbeat, measuring right on for dates, etc.) but now I have to wait another two weeks for the 12-week scan and I'm starting to panic. I haven't had any bleeding/spotting or pain but I know things could still have gone wrong regardless.

MonaTheMoaner · 06/02/2018 18:20

@Roeslein any way you can book in for another private scan? I haven't had my date through for my dating scan yet but I'm in much the same position as you. Apart from sore nipples, no symptoms or changes. Saw my baby a week and a half ago all good. I'm going to book in next Monday at 10+4 to double check.

kirinm · 06/02/2018 18:26

Rose I'm feeling much the same. 9w5d today and my nausea is nowhere near what it was like on Sunday even. I also had some brown discharge which has now gone but I don't feel anywhere near as bad as I did. I have had two nosebleeds today though.

I'm going to try my get a scan on Thursday.

MoDip · 06/02/2018 18:37

So sorry for your loss @intelligentputty

I don’t know what is normal but I have only had a couple of moments of nausea, and I am 7w5. I’m having a scan on Saturday so will see if all is well. My trousers are tight but i think that is because of all the crap I have been eating!

HannahJH · 06/02/2018 18:44

My symptoms with DD defo eased off about 10 weeks but I think it was also because I was more relaxed as I’d survived that long and because I had learnt how to manage how I felt.

So sorry intelligentputty on your news :’(

I had a scan on 3/2 and I’ve booked another for 14/2. It’s booked for my 30th birthday and if all is well I’ll be over 8.5 weeks and we’ll tell parents at my birthday meal. X

intelligentPutty · 06/02/2018 18:55

Thanks everyone. Xx

Molly54 · 06/02/2018 19:06

So sorry intelligent! Can't believe how many were losing, thoughts out to everyone!

I've got my first scan on Thursday, will be 7+1. Time is literally going so slowly waiting for it. This is my first pregnancy and I didn't realise how long you have to wait until a medical professional actually confirms you're pregnant. I don't think I could wait 12 weeks very easily. Booking in appointment not until 10 weeks which seems quite late to me.

Katsanddogs · 06/02/2018 19:16

So sorry intelligent
Sorry you've had a rough day fia, hope you're resting up now.
Much to my surprise my scan went really well today! Measured 7+4 so just one day off my dates and had a good heartbeat. I do still have a little haematoma so that explains where the bleeding came from. So relieved!
Apparantly the clinic I went to yesterday has a reputation for being crap! Please be aware of the 'numi' clinics guys, would hate for any of you to go through this. I'll never have a private scan again!
Best wishes to anyone else having bleeding or other worries.

Molly54 · 06/02/2018 19:20

Kats - that's great news! Really pleased for you. That's awful they messed up your private scan, thanks for the note about numi - won't be using them!! The scan I've booked is at mothercare, babybond I think in Leeds. Not sure what they're like but fingers crossed ok.

Fia256 · 06/02/2018 19:28

Kats that's brilliant news!! So pleased for you, I can't imagine the worry you must have been through the last 24 hours or so!

Fia256 · 06/02/2018 19:39

I know this might be a silly question, but does anyone know if we are allowed the luxury of bath bombs in early pregnancy? I had so many lovely ones bought for me for Christmas but I haven't dared use them incase! As I say, probably me just being silly and over worrying!Grin

HannahJH · 06/02/2018 19:48

Kats that’s so so totally amazing :):)

MonaTheMoaner · 06/02/2018 19:55

@Katsanddogs congratulations! That's lovely news!

@Fia256 slightly more risk of developing a yeast infection but otherwise it's fine. Go for natural ingredients like LUSH or Bomb Cosmetics and don't soak for hours.

Jfw82 · 06/02/2018 20:04

Checking in and catching up..... sorry to those who've not had great news. Lovely to be seeing some scan pics- have spent last two days in bed with a chest infection- I miss lempsip Grin-antibiotics slowly kicking in will say it's distracted me from the nausea!

I can't believe I'm 10 weeks and that 12 week scans will start soon for this group!

LostMyBaubles · 06/02/2018 21:15

Kats I was so worried for you! Congrats on everything being ok

Fia
I haven't even had the balls for a bath yet and that's all my achy body needs. Obv been showering lol
Once I get past the 12week mark hopefully will have a nice bath

Had my first cup of tea in like 3 weeks tonight. Was a nice cup of chai (hubby drinks chai 2x a day and smells lovely)

Shook2018 · 06/02/2018 22:02

So sorry intelligent xx

Kats that's excellent news, although scary how they can mess up your private scan!

I'm 10+4 and mine has not eased even for a day since week 5/6ish. It's got worse in the last week, although I agree with Hannah re just sort of dealing with it better. Shouldn't complain really but man, sickness sucks x

CuppaSarah · 07/02/2018 06:31

Ugh I was just sick before managing to even eat anything. I feel awful today and my mum is coming round today, I've told her a white lie. That the mild mystery bowel issue I had last year has come back.

How can sickness get so much worse at nearly 10 weeks, I thought symptoms started to ease now!! I can't eat meat without retching, I'm suddenly living on rice and beige.

Anyone else getting really restless sleep?

Shook2018 · 07/02/2018 07:38

Ooh also - can anyone recommend a good baby app? One that tells me what's happening today etc?

Sals27 · 07/02/2018 07:58

Yes CuppaSarah I'm tossing and turning every night. Intermittantly waking up. Last night was particularly bad so I've woken up with a headache and very grumpy!

Shook I'm using the ovia pregnancy app

kirinm · 07/02/2018 08:04

Urgh have woken up feeling so nauseous today. Dreading work.

I use Ovia too.
