@Babydreaming yes very well could be. I am reassured that all is well because I am still so sick! Thank you x

k4rlyb · 18/01/2018 09:54

Hi @BeesKnees9
Congratulations! I felt so at ease yesterday after my early scan.
I took my partner to the booking appointment, there isn't a real need for them to be there as the questions are mainly to you but I liked him there to support me.

Emmasmum2013 · 18/01/2018 09:56

Also on the beige foods bandwagon! Crackers, breadsticks, rich tea biscuits dipped in milk. That and LOTS of fresh fruit. And it has to be cold! I’ll also have different aversions every day.
I’m also not bothered about an evening meal! I can’t wait to get back to feeling normal. I love food and love cooking and my brain still knows I love it but my stomach has other views!
Off to have another ice pop...

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 18/01/2018 10:58

Another one for the beige food bandwagon!

Biscuits seem to be one of the only things that stop me feeling sick.....not so great for the waistline though! Grin

A colleague at work guessed I was pregnant yesterday. She clocked my bloated after lunch tummy but I think the custard creams gave it away! Grin

Beanmama18 · 18/01/2018 11:09

Hey ladies.
I'm new here so bare with me whilst I get to grips with every thing :).
Been reading for a while and had to join. We've not told anyone yet so it's nice to finally be able to talk about being pregnant :D.
I'm 9+1 today. Had my booking in last Thursday but I don't think it will feel real until I see that little bean on the screen on the 12th Feb (such a long wait)!!!!

peanut2017 · 18/01/2018 11:17

Morning all. Just in hospital now. Had the scan and little peanut was moving away and heard the heartbeat which was lovely. Have the baby with me too as had no one to mind him and DH was in work so was a very different experience.

Got a bit emotional as haven't felt much symptoms the last few days. Actually said I'm 10 weeks so am due the 16th August.

Did the harmony test there and then but said I may be called back to retest as I am only just 10 weeks.

I'm 12 bloody stone 😩 can't believe it. Was always 9/10 stone. I need to cop on and stop eating rubbish

Just waiting to see my babies paediatrician so it's all a bit surreal.

spydie · 18/01/2018 11:41

Lovely reading the food aversions! I've gone off my morning tea but now really crave special k and cold milk first thing, and I'm definitely not normally a breakfast person! Craving sweets (Haribo, fruit pastills etc) and anything fresh like fruit and veg. Made a big salad for lunch yesterday and eating loads of mango and satsumas. Exactly the same as last time Lol!! There's a pack of mince pies in the cupboard, bleurgh, but usually love them.

Pains have gone but been really constipated since the weekend. Then it all came out this morning followed by more diarrhoea. Thank goodness I'm working from home!!!! But no longer bloated and looking relatively normal. I didnt show until about 24 weeks last time, and even then it wasn't a bump just a thicker waist so only those that knew me could tell. Ordered a pair of leggings from isabella oliver though yesterday, just want something more comfy than jeans to knock around in. Had flu jab this morning, glad that's done!

Gizzymum · 18/01/2018 13:30

@peterpanwendy I agree with Babydreaming. The fact it's more noticeable when you're busy or moving suggests it's more muscular/ligamentous in nature. Usually non-muscular pain is more noticeable when there are less distractions etc.

I didn't have food aversions/cravings last time or this time. I feel like I'm missing out 😟

Firstimer703 · 18/01/2018 14:00

Can I join too? I'm due August 21st. Been lucky so far, no morning sickness just a touch of nausea on occasion. Having private scan on Sat and due to see the midwife next week! I've added myself to the list.

Welcome and congratulations BeesKnees9, Beanmama18 and Firsttimer703

In a bit of a pickle. A friend in my close group of girlfriends has announced today that she is expecting a baby due end of July. Great news, bit surprising for us all as her and her husband have been going through a rough time for over a year now but that's not our business. Another friend of ours (same group) has infertility as a result of endometriosis and has had two failed IVF cycles so far (last one planned for March).

So IVF friend messages me after the announcement to say "I'm not sure how I feel about this". Understandable. I say did she tell you privately first and she says no!! Sad Angry Two other friends have had babies in this time and they have contacted her before announcing to the group, as I plan to do.

But she said she's happy for them but can't get her head around it given the state of their relationship (the pair of them are closer so she knows more about it than most) and she feels she should have been told separately.

The whole time I'm feeling awful and guilty thinking "I'm pregnant too!" and I nearly 'confessed' just to ease my conscious because it seemed so two faced.

I might contact her the night before my scan, just to give her a head start. I don't know how to make it better for her Sad

spydie · 18/01/2018 15:23

Oh @SpriteGirl it's horrible isn't it? I have a friend who has had 3 rounds now including a multiple miscarriage late on... we met for lunch before Xmas and they'd just been through their 3rd and it was wait and see. I'm praying it worked for them as it will be awful sharing my news if it hasn't. We've had so many chats about how she feels when other people announce their news and whilst I totally understand and would feel the same, I don't want to have to put her through that and also worry about our friendship.

peterpanwendy · 18/01/2018 17:00

@Gizzymum thank you for the reassurance, I just want everything to be ok in there!

Tinks15 · 18/01/2018 18:02

Guess what everyone...i finally have my scan appointment through. Horaay! It's Wednesday so not long to wait.

Stephiewoo · 18/01/2018 18:23

Urghh I've been hit with every symptom of gestational diabetes again. Balls!!!! 😭
Tested my sugar an hour after eating and yep, it's creeping up.

LadesC · 18/01/2018 18:27

Me too. Nxt thur but ill only be 10 +5 so not sure if ill end up going back for NT.

Is there a hormone surge at 9.5 wks....MS had been so so much better for days. Today im retching into a muzzy and cant bear to look at food altho im.waiting on a dominos as its all i can fancy

Whichoneisit · 18/01/2018 19:21

Evening all,
Good news about scan dates. Assuming I’ll get mine after my booking in appointment tomorrow when I’ll be 10 weeks.
NIPT/harmony test is Monday. Feeling quite anxious about the scan but less so about waiting for the results at the moment.
Feel like I’ve really turned a corner (other than tiredness) over the last few days. Hoping that’s not a bad sign. Even managed to watch the kids eat sushi this evening!
My biggest aversion has been roast dinner. I think cooking on Christmas Day pushed me over the edge!
Still haven’t told my children (12,8) but we may on Monday after the scan... am wondering whether we should just wait for the results.

StrawberryLemonade · 18/01/2018 19:45

Hi to everyone who has just joined!

Still no scan date here. I’m over 11 weeks now so if it hasn’t come by Monday I’m going to phone the midwife back.

I still have so many food aversions. Mainly most food. Tea, chocolate, normal meals.... I’ll think I fancy something then 10 minutes later the thought of it makes me want to throw up. Can’t wait for this to pass!

CumbrianExile · 18/01/2018 20:05

Evening all. Welcome to the newbies Smile

Good aversions change daily for me too. Although coffee seems to be sticking, although I don't like coffee it seems to be popular at work and it's really strong smelling!

Cravings are for fruity flavours but not fruit! Fruit pastilles and juice mainly, although thanks to catching up with the posts I may have to buy ice lollies tomorrow Grin

WaitingforToto · 18/01/2018 20:13

Hey everyone,
Good to hear that things are progressing nicely for everyone. I had a bit of a wobble at the weekend as all my symptoms have disappeared and I convinced myself that the worst had happened. But had my booking appointment yesterday and the midwife said not to worry as I've had no bleeding so I'm trying to stay calm. I've booked the NIPT test (inc another scan) for 2 weeks tomorrow when I'll be 11 weeks so I'm counting the days until then.
I've not had much in the way of food cravings/aversions, except last night when I would have killed for a MacDonald's apple pie. I haven't had a MacDonald's for about 10 years but it's my birthday tomorrow so I might treat myself! 🎂

SpriteGirl · 18/01/2018 20:29

Thanks @spydie. Sure our friends will be happy for us but it’s very hard.

Beanmama18 · 18/01/2018 20:44

I can't say I've had any food aversions as yet. No morning sickness either barring one afternoon of nausea! Part of me actually wants it to kick in just so it all seems a bit more real. I will actually do anything for orange fanta, jelly sweets and monster munch tho. Nice and healthy!

peterpanwendy · 18/01/2018 22:07

@Beanmama18 monster munch were my weakness pre-pregnancy. I ate a bag on Monday afternoon and spent the whole evening feeling horribly sick, they kept repeating on me! So fair to say I've gone off them which I'm gutted about!

Gizzymum · 18/01/2018 22:17

@Beanmama18 that sounds like my normal diet 😳🤣

amzq87 · 18/01/2018 22:25

I'm with you @StrawberryLemonade - my fancies pass very quickly so from me making my lunch for work in a morning, I usually don't want it when I'm at work!

Need to get back on an even keel though - been to fat club tonight and I've gained 6lbs total through this pregnancy so far! 😩

So mad with myself as I've worked so hard to be the weight I am and I know some gain is expected (not this much in the first trimester though!) but I'm just not able to eat right. Nausea seems to be calming though so hopefully will be able to keep a good eye on it.

Only just catching up on today's messages as had a mad day - welcome newbies and it's nice to hear about some people's scan dates. All sooooo exciting xx

StrawberryLemonade · 19/01/2018 07:12

SpriteGirl that situation sounds so hard. I’m sure your friend will be happy for you but it might be hard for her. I have a friend undergoing fertility treatment too which has had 2 failed cycles so I’m hoping she will be happy for me too. I’m sure she will but I’m scared of telling her!
