Welcome to all the new joiners and congrats!

Been catching up on the thread. I do t really think I've had any food aversions - that's the problem! I still have this nausea that won't seem to shift, but I've not actually been sick, I know that makes me very lucky.

@WaitingforToto I've read many times that symptoms come and go as your hormones change.

I have my 12 week today and know some others do too - so good luck to everyone.

Beanmama18 · 19/01/2018 07:28

@peterpanwendy what flavour were they? I've never been able to eat the pickled onion ones. Roast beef all the way!

Anyone having a high risk pregnancy due to bmi? :(. It's 35.5. I'm going to the gym twice a week and yoga twice a week plus walking every night but I just feel so guilty every time I eat something naughty.

Beanmama18 · 19/01/2018 07:30

@milney25 good luck with your scan

YouCantBeSirius · 19/01/2018 07:43

@Beanmama18 my BMI is high too, although I can't remember exactly what it is. I'm consultant led but I would have been anyway because I'll be having a planned caesarian.

It's my scan this morning and I'm so excited I barely slept last night Grin

Stephiewoo · 19/01/2018 08:12

@Beanmama18 my bmi is probably about the same as yours, not sure if it's regarded high risk though Hun, apart from the lovely gestational diabetes.
You are exercising and looking after yourself so far more than I've ever done. I'm about 5ft7 and probably about 16 stone now. I will be on a GD diet after my booking in and monitoring blood sugar etc.
Don't be too hard on yourself though lovely, enjoy your pregnancy x

amzq87 · 19/01/2018 08:53

Good luck for the scan @YouCantBeSirius - exciting!! X

Kiki275 · 19/01/2018 09:00

My BMI is similar, they put it on my notes to keep an eye on but no more mention than that. It's annoying because I've really gone off sweeteners and can no longer drink tea without any sugar in - can't stand either, which I didn't have a problem pre-BFP.
On a side note, does any one have really itchy boobs? If you'll pardon the pun, mine are really getting on my tits x

amzq87 · 19/01/2018 09:06

@Kiki275 - itchy nipples here 😂 but sensitive too! It's a right catch 22 lol!

My BMI is just under being consultant led. My midwife was telling me that if I was consultant led, I'd get an extra scan so actually felt like telling her to put me down as a bit heavier lol!

The line has to be somewhere I suppose. If you're looking after yourself, that's better than someone who is very lazy surely? Regardless of just over or just under BMI?

milney25 · 19/01/2018 09:09

@YouCantBeSirius good luck - let us know!

@Kiki275 @amzq87 omg the itchy nipples are driving me mad!

E2017 · 19/01/2018 09:13

Quick question ladies for anyone else that has/ is on cyclogest (progesterone) after ivf, were you not worried when you finished the course of it at 10 weeks that something would go wrong?

It's really stressing me out as I had my last one last night and midwife said when you run out you've done the course of it and all should be fine, but if you start bleeding go to EPU to get checked out and they may put you back on it.

stretchmarkqueen0109 · 19/01/2018 09:14

Hi all!
Currently pregnant with Dc2 and going by dates due 7/8/18. 12 week scan next week so starting to get nervous incase I imagine I all 🤣

milney25 · 19/01/2018 09:34

Hi @E2017 I'm on cyclogest, though for other reasons. I'm worrying. I have enough to get me to 13 weeks. Last time I went to the Epu because of spotting she suggested going to the GP to see if they'd prescribe me more, as apparently it does not harm to continue.

I'm going to ask again today at my 12 week (fingers crossed, touch wood) and see what they say.

Beanmama18 · 19/01/2018 09:40

@amzq87 yes! That was the most positive thing about it. Apparently I have to have a scan every 3 weeks towards the end so at least I'll get to see little bean lots.

CumbrianExile · 19/01/2018 09:47

Beanmama18 another with a high BMI - again not sure what it is, but I have to take a higher dose of folic acid and vitamin d. Not had a booking appointment yet so not sure if it is high enough to be consultant led. With my previous pregnancy I also had a high BMI, and I had to see a consultant following my 12 week scan, but she had no further concerns other than my BMI so I was signed back to midwife care. Still had to have the diabetes test though, so I am sure I am in for that treat again soon Grin

gkeen369 · 19/01/2018 09:56

@Beanmama18 Hi, my BMI is 39 🙈 and when I had my booking appt and my midwife said something about having to have weekly scans??? I'm sure that's not right though. Luckily she also said even if I was consultant lead in pregnancy I could be midwife led in labour (I want the pool again!) it's a complex picture though as the professionals expect a 110kilo girl to be unfit but I have bp 120/70 and resting heart rate in the 60s. They have to take everything into account x

Beanmama18 · 19/01/2018 10:09

@CumbrianExile I'm on the higher folic acid and vitamin d also. Not heard anything about actually seeing a consultant but I don't have my 12 week scan for another 3 and a bit weeks :(.

@gkeen369 that's reassuring to hear. I'm desperately hoping I'll still be allowed a pool.

YouCantBeSirius · 19/01/2018 10:16

Had scan. All is looking good Grin baby was wriggling about so much the lady doing the scan was struggling to get measurements. We got there in the end, I have a new due date, 01/08 so I was only one day out. Just waiting on blood tests then I'll post pictures.

milney25 · 19/01/2018 10:19

@YouCantBeSirius amazing!! How wonderful! Can't wait for the pic 🤗

amzq87 · 19/01/2018 10:24

Sounds great @YouCantBeSirius 😁

WaitingforToto · 19/01/2018 10:27

Congrats @YouCantBeSirius that's great news. Enjoy! x

BertieBotts · 19/01/2018 10:29

If you've breastfed before you'll know this, but on your nipples you'll have several holes for the milk to come out, not just one. What seems to be happening to mine is that the holes are sort of opening up I suppose? As there is dead skin kind of accumulating in them as though it's working its way out. I think this is what causes the itchy feeling. It does come out if you rub the nipple (carefully!) - what I'm saying is (this is gross, sorry!) you can pick the dead skin out - don't make yourself bleed or irritated - and it stops the itching. Kind of a sporny thing Blush

Babydreaming · 19/01/2018 10:35

GOOD luck @milney25 and @youcantbesirius ! So exciting that some are reaching the 12w scan stage!

I have my booking appointment at lunchtime and am excited but worried that my baby will be causing chaos at the same time! Hopefully I’ll get my scan date soon after that!

Wow that’s great @youcantbesirius! Glad everyone went well x

Just had my booking appointment - it was as uneventful as I remember it being last time!
9+0

YouCantBeSirius · 19/01/2018 11:09

Bloods couldn't be taken, as soon as the nurse put a tourniquet on my veins disappeared and after 4 painful attempts they gave up. The NT measurement was only 1.6mm so they didn't seem worried.
